This campaign's purpose is to test changes introduced by "Omnium Contra Omnes", a multiplayer mod. "Est Modus in Rebus", meaning "there is a good measure in all things", reflects the mod's goals — to address balance concerns, in a multiplayer context. Games will take place on Tuesdays, at eight o'clock, central European time — sessions will last three hours. We shall start at the earliest available date, in 1399.

We will play with default settings, therefore a standard spread of provinces discovery of fifty years. There aren't house rules: the mod's intent is to remove areas which can be exploited. Players are therefore invited to try their best to trick their way to success, so that valid conclusions can be made about what remains to be corrected. It is likely that the mod will evolve as the campaign unfurls. New versions will always be released at least two days before the session's start and changes described. A Mumble server will be set up to undertake discussions, explain changes and trade insults.

Any player who has at least a moderate experience with the vanilla version of the game and the multiplayer environment is welcome to sign up. It is essential that participants be on time and be able to regularly attend. You will be invited to mention two countries you'd prefer over others, as well as one to dodge under any circumstance. Played countries will be assigned well in advance of the game's start, so that people may have time to test the mod's changes in singleplayer.

The mod is far more difficult than the original game. This can explain a little why there isn't many players there.

There are fewer than fifty active players at this time in the multiplayer forum section. Only a (small) portion of these could actually be interested in participating: some were contacted and may join. We'll see what the turnout is — we'll scrap or reschedule the campaign if fewer than eight players sign up.

A compromize might be to shorten it to 3 hours to find a few more players (so it won't go past 23:00, but also would not start prior to 20:00).

I can't join as any permanent position (as tuesday is my tabletop war/card/boardgame evening), but I could probably join for session number 1 to keep a nation more or less in good shape to allow it to be picked up afterwards and/or I could sub ocasionally afterwards.

I am still waiting to hear from a few players but, given people's schedules, we'll shorten our sessions from four to three hours. As for the starting time, let's keep it a 20.00 CET — Ashalia and Sharpcat (Australia) wouldn't be able to join us otherwise. Lama, I am hoping there will be another campaign during the week, so that you can participate. I wouldn't mind playing on Wednesdays, but I chose Tuesdays as this day and time aren't shared by other ongoing campaigns. There's a "Newbie Game" on Wednesdays.

Fine with me. We could effectively share a country (me subbing for you), with you determining the main longterm strategy (if you so wish). I have no particular preferences, so you could suggest something.
