Roll is a 5+2= 7. Basestar damaged twice. First is a critical hit, so the second one does not matter as the basestar is destroyed.

I am fairly useless atm now on this check. Unless some of you are confident this isn't worth the fuel and raptor risk...well more the fuel.

If I launch in a viper, can I use my CAG action to activate a viper and do something else without losing CAG?

I assume that I can, because it doesn't say anything about starting my turn in a viper.

I've never actually played as a CAG before, so I don't know the finer points.

You have to do the CAG action before the other action. CAG reads more or less like this.

Once per Turn, if you are in a viper, Action: Activate an unmanned viper, then take another action.

Then you have a second action you can do that says this:
Action, Activate an unmanned viper then pass the CAG title to any other human player.
