AFAI remember there used to be brigade for bombers called escort fighters. Now CORE added extra air defence weaponry. With unlimited brigades and possibility of creating new types of brigades -> Could we please separate them, and perhaps allow strategic and tactical bombers to have 2 brigades so they can have both?
There are plans to separate them in 0.60, AFAIR transport should then get the option for defense weaponry.
Can we have multiple brigades for air units in AoD? I play too little vanilla to be sure.

I think yes. You can also historicly allow carrier: extra AA brigade, radar brigade.
You can even make an extra brigade for reinforced armoured flight deck.

Yes I know. And after rethinking my idea I think the original idea is better. Adding a new brigade would need rebuilding of the naval units techtree, and would lead to possibility of unhistorical adding and substracting this brigade on will.
Ships should be effectively 'drydocked' for the majority of these upgrades anyway, meaning they cant move (they wouldnt necessarily be in an actual drydock though).
Crews were frequently given leave during such refits.
