I vote AYE. I will look into procuring information from the Naval Office as soon as I can.

Admiral --

You are currently over budget with existing construction, let alone new ones. Is there anything you'd be prepared to scrap or give up? ((Naval budget is 173.76 for FY 1942.))

(( Well you didn't say anything about this when I gave you the proposed PM. :p I'll look through and find something to scrap if you like, I'm just super busy right now. Note that that list includes all things planned throughout the entire year, not just immediate IC plans. Much of what's on that list will finish very soon and free up a lot of IC for other builds. I'd rather not cancel tons of partially complete destroyers etc. if possible. ))

((I second this notion. If you compare it vis-a-vis total IC days, it ends up roughly evening out for a yearly budget. Plus, we are quite badly under strength. Worst comes to worst you could always just push them to the bottom of the production queue and not fund them.))

((Seconded. Just push the DD/CLs farthest from completion to the bottom of the queue))

((You certainly have a lot of support here! I'll leave the final decision up to you as far as what you want to prioritize (unless you just want me to use the original PM's stuff), but I think your solution does work best; we'll keep 'em in the queue and shove 'em to the back.))

((I'd also like to suggest that we either reduce the amount invested in upgrades and instead allocate it to production, or else transfer it on a daily basis as the requirement is fulfilled. Just from a practical gameplay perspective. Also, researching the next level of education this early might not pay off(I'm away from my normal computer and unable to do the calculations) as opposed to waiting 6 months to a year. Just wanted to throw that out there, Herr Fearless leader!))

((I'll take the education thing into consideration. I'll leave upgrades at prioritize for a couple of months and see what happens then.))

I had already suggested waiting at least 6 months on education. Starting right now gives too high a penalty. Starting in 6 months gives, imo, the best trade off between absolute earliest finish date and extra research time due to early research penalty.

Since we've had zero negative votes, I'm going to sign the budget into law. Chiefs, please have final changes to your build plans, if any, on my desk as soon as possible. Generals Bradley and MacArthur, if there are any last minute changes to your operational plans, please submit those changes as soon as practical.

President Willkie

General Bradley,

General MacArthur has already confirmed the ops orders for Tinderbox and Fortitude remain intact. Is there anything you'd like to change with Buckler, at least for January?

President Willkie

((I will try to play sometime in the next couple of days and get you an update this weekend. End of the Semester is always busy!))

Mr. President,

I confirm that Operation Buckler is to continue as directed, with any operational variations of course available to our battlefield commanders as needed.

General Bradley

((Chin up! I just turned in my dissertation, and am as free as a bird!))

((I'm so jealous of you right now... still waiting on research funding to even being my doctoral dissertation research, although I am ABD.))

Thank you, General.

Doctoral? I am only working on my master's.

(( Just got back from London having finished my exam, do you still need that formalized budget? ))

((If you've got the time, sure. I won't be ready to update until tomorrow night at the earliest; if you can't get it by then, no sweat.

Hope you did well! :D))

((Just as a heads up, I finished playing last night; I'll have an update for January 1-31 1942 up tonight! Spoiler alert: Some parts of our plans go really, really well... others, not so much.))
