How to decide the procince capital?

Is there a Way to determine which holdingtype is the Capital of a province?
Earlier in a game of mine, I held a province with a castle as the Capital, but when I build a new Holding, the capital changed to the newly constructed City... That made me held a wrong type of Holding in my demesne".. So, how do I change the Capital back? I cant see why it chooses the City instead of the castle?

The capital of a county is always the building associated with the Title Holder's Origins.

If he is a priest then it is a Church
If he is a low born it is a Town
If he is a noble then it is the Castle

Is your character a lowborn by some chance?

Him, perhaps i have not explained my self good enough... I am the King, i hold many provinces, All which capitals are castles... But when i build a new City Holding in one of my provinces, it change the Capital to become this new City.... How Can i decide what type of Holding is the main Capital of my province? And why did it change All of sudden?

Do you still hold the castle that was there before the new city was completed, or has it somehow been given to a baron?

make the baron that owns the castle the count of the province then revoke his title if oyu want the county for yourself

Yes, i still hold the castle...

And i dont Think it Will do Much to first Make a baron, then Make him count, and then revoke his title again... The province Will also most likely keep the City the Capital...

Do anybody know what to dó about this?

Huh, sounds glitchy. When you select the diplomacy option to grant landed title to someone, at the bottom of the list can you give away title to the city or title to the castle? If it's the city, give it to someone and keep the castle and the county title yourself, and the remaining holding (the castle) of the county title holder (you) should become the capital. If you can only give away the castle, then you may be better off editing your savegame (it's just a text file) to change the capital.

Do you still hold the Title of Count for that County? If you give the title Count by accident then the person who holds that title will be the capital, even if you still own a Barony in the County.

He's asking if you can change which holding is the "capital" holding of that province, the one in the top right. I don't think you can, which is a little annoying.

The capital depends on who holds the Count title in the province. If it's a count, the capital is a castle. If it's held by a Mayor (title changes to Lord Mayor) the capital is a city. If the count title is held by Bishop (Thus an Arch-Bishop), the capital is a church.

So to change the capital, you need to revoke the count title and gives it to a whichever character that has the holding you want to make the capital.

No, it doesn't work that way. County capitals don't change based on who owns the county.

So did I, I saw no change, gave Vivaris to a count and the city still remained the capital holding. If I revoke the barons title, will that castle become the capital?

No, you have to promote the baron as the count. It only works if you "promote from within".
