If you have already created an Excel doc, could you post it to an upload site? That way we can all use the same template and make the merging process that much easier at the end. I don't have Excel actually, preferring OpenOffice over paying MS a heap o' cash. But it should work just fine I should think.

Havent made a document yet, but I will. Open office works fine with Excel, so thats no problem. I'll start a sperate thread, including the rules we'd agreed on after Chirstmas, way too much going on at the moment, and will upload the file as well. I'll send you the link of the thread as soon as its up and running.

sounds good to me
You just volunteered ;) I'll send you a message as well withg the link of the new thread as soon as its runnig.

Why use any of these old unwieldy datafile formats?

I only use google spreadsheet (google doc). Then you can share it and have as many people as you like working at/updating the spreadsheet (simultaneously if needed) from anywhere they can access their google login.

Feel free to use the ones I have in my Sig.

I really would like to be able to jump to officers and brigades (with high xp for upgrading them) from the ledger to the map like you could in HOI2. Also not manually having to count the amount of convoys you sink would be nice, esp after an entire expansion dedicated to the "battle of the Atlantic".

I suppose these are new feature that wont make it into a patch but I'm rather incredulous that these features aren't in the game already.

Items 3 and 7 might still be patchable changes, though. The rest...not so much. :p

Gotta think about that one coz there are some pro's and cons to the solution. I guess its some of the things i need to have look at this week, only recently got back from my holiday, before i start the project/thread.

When I create a new fleet..it would be nice to know the combined hull value of the new fleet while on the fleet reorganization box without having to back out and see where you are. I limit my fleets to no more then than ten ships with one screen for every capital ship in the fleet. I usually come up with a value between 0 and 5% stacking penalty...which is pretty good from what i have been reading...but it would still be nice to see the combined value when fleet is being created or reorganized.

Perhaps even take it a step further to include new ship builds. That way when you're deciding on production run of escorts (DD/CL) for either existing older tech ships or for new capital ships, you can easily figure out how much to produce. It would be similar to the information you get when building divisions (fleet hull being included with fleet group stats like average speed, supply requirements, range and attack/defense).

Ideally, I would like a built in tool similar to HOI organizer in presentation that's updated real time. It would include this kind of reorganization tool with group stats along with chain of command organization functions. Access it via a tab next to Statistics and a new screen appears with alternate view settings Like HOI Army Organizer. Click on a division, fleet or wing (squadron?), to open a new window listing the units and combined stats like those mentioned before in a new window. You could open more than one window (maybe up to four?) to instantly compare divisions/fleets/wings for group stat comparison, drag/drop individual units between them (if in the same province) or even "add" new replacement units (showing impact on division/fleet/wing and could be added to production que list which you can later edit if needed then press a button to add to actual production). I should add that division/fleet/wing stats would include a list of bonus from the chain of command. Instantly know whether it's better to have Patton as an Army commander or Army Group commander. This would be in addition to any mouse hover tool tips, the outliner & OOB brower since it would cover the entire screen. Probably too much to ask for, but the more readily accessible, accurate information a player has, the better.

Sorry, guys i've been offline for time because of soem personal stuff combined with work issues :( But got my things sorted, you still up for this?
