how do i give a selected nation a large starting army?

i want to give oranje and transval big starting armies

i felt that fighting oranje and the transval as the british was not satisfying and as lengthy as it was said to be.

You edit its order-of-battle file in history\units\ABC_oob.txt

(btw, this is a modding question so belongs in the modding forum :)

You can't make a country with a hundred and forty thousand POPs and a single state powerful. End of story.

(Incidentally, the sanest way to interpret the Second Boer War in Vicky 2 terms is probably a year or so of actual war, followed by sky-high militancy in the Boer provinces for another two years.)
