LOL, Nebraska should have trained you well.
My father was in the USAF as a C-130 pilot during the 1980s and early 1990s (including the Operation Just Cause and Desert Storm). He is a 757/767 pilot for US Airways now. My cousin is joining the USAF very soon (he has basic training in San Antonio beginning in June, I believe) as a crew chief on the KC-135.
I may look into joining the armed forces after I graduate from college, but we shall see. I am a meteorology major here at NC State, so I could be an Air Force Meteorologist, perhaps!
I wish you best of luck, though, and stay safe!
I would highly encourage you to sign up, but as we all know it isn't for everybody. Right now I'm an E-4 (specialist), after that in January 2012 I should be able to attend courses to become an officer.
An Air Force Meteorologist would be cool, think most of them are stationed up here at Offutt Air Force Base; which is a great base and I love visiting it.
