I m also curious why you don't use reserve units? Don't they enable you to have a bigger army for a cheaper cost during peacetime? The production time is also much less

they penalty is, you have to pay about 5x the reinforcement costs. They were viable for previous versions of hoi3 but i think for prolonged fighting they really don't pay off.

Parts 19 and 20 are up, although 19 is a very small part and there is only 7 minutes of footage released today.

part 21 up, along with a new memoir, enjoy.

Part 22 and a new memoir have been added. enjoy!

Interesting. I'm wondering whether the Soviets will attack you. An early war on two fronts would be a challenge :)
"Sir we're surrounded! Excellent! Now we can attack in any direction!"

Very interesting, how is it with your naval plans? I ve not seen any fleet in action, is it because your waiting for your doctrines to get finished?

its because i'm waiting for some micro time :) if it was not being filmed and I felt comfortable pausing for periods of time I would send the fleet out into the sea, but right now I am trying to get the land under control so I can focus on the sea as well. Don't worry, I've filmed far ahead, the navy gets some action.

part 23 of the campaign now added, a new memoir by the end of the day as well . enjoy!

part 24 is available, and there is no shortage of intense developments!

Part 24 and 25 share the same link for some reason :p

Great AAR so far, now it feels like getting intense :)

thank you, part 25 is short but the link is corrected now.

Looking back at it, do you regret building so much AA? You could ve build much more infantry divisions with artillery during that building time, which would help you much more then your AA at the moment. Considering this is a very ahistorical and unpredictable scenario. But with the mod you re playing it is understandable and maybe fun that you can be caugth off guard, but it does seem to screw with the build up planning of most players (that would include me as wel :p )

The other problem is the delay with the specialist training, it makes it much longer for the builds to complete forcing you to start earlier with infantry production. The other thing is that I m not sure that you really need that much infantry as germany if you have a good fleet, a good fleet seems to replace the need for a real atlantic wall

Some interesting thoughts, but no, I have no real regrets looking back. One of the things about AA is it isn't a complete waste even if they don't attack the provinces because it helps build up your artillery practical. If I had been allowed to peacefully annex czechoslovakia, i would have pumped infantry up until war with poland. Obviously the game has taken another path and that is fine, I will do my best to adapt accordingly. You are right that specialist training makes the infantry take longer to build, but the experience is worth the wait in my view. I prefer quality over quantity because it doesn't put as large of a strain on manpower, and I need fewer officers with fewer divisions, and thus can research more stuff. It is just a different, and minimalist playstyle. However, this is not to say that as the game progresses and the war on both fronts takes it toll that I won't build more land based divisions.

subscribed. I've never seen this turn of events in any AAR I've ever read, and if you'll notice my sig, I try to glance at most of them at least. very intense, great that you didn't just reload the game. feels more real, this way.

Yeah, I think this will turn out to be quite the one-of-a-kind AAR! Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Yeah, so they attacked you after all. That's great - it will be a very interesting game :D

Uncle Joe apparently wanted his chunk, he'll have to fight hard to get it!

By the way, enjoy the 2 (ish) videos i released

Part 29 released! New memoir coming soon.

Also, what do you guys think of the memoirs, are you reading them, ignoring them? If you are reading them, what do you think of the length, content, writing style? I can easily change the memoirs because i write them as I release the videos, but most of the videos are filmed so I can't easily change that!

I like them. gives you the feeling that you're getting inside Hitler's mind.

part 30 released, enjoy.
