Having a decent computer really helps. I go for years without doing anything, but the years take almost no time to go by on full speed.

I know what you mean...my new pc is flying...where it took me 10 minutes to do a year with my old pc...it takes me about three minutes to play a year now.

Chapter 4

It's that time of the week again! Yes, the time I can actually be bothered to do something ;)

Lets get going, shall we?

10 years go by without much happening, shortly after the turn of the century I make a slider change to free subjects.

eu3game2011-10-3017-35-18-20.jpg

I diploannex Maya as per my mission and gaina core on Guatemala.

eu3game2011-10-3017-36-46-31.jpg

My next mission is a vassalise one. So I declare war on the helpless little tribes.

eu3game2011-10-3017-37-31-94.jpg

Suprisingly, I win the war! :D I vassalise them and take all their gold.

eu3game2011-10-3017-38-58-44.jpg

I get the awesome event giving me a core on my vassal, releasing him, breaking our alliance and lowering our relations.

eu3game2011-10-3017-45-32-85.jpg

I annex them :eek:o

eu3game2011-10-3017-46-24-68.jpg

After failing the mission of intergrating my vassal (diplomatically) my new mission is to.... get a new vassal :eek:hmy:

eu3game2011-10-3017-46-58-15.jpg

During the war I spy with my little eye something beginning with 'A French boa'
If you guess correctly you win 1 internet cookie.

eu3game2011-10-3017-47-39-84.jpg

Anticipating the Europeans arrival I move quickly to annex all the tribes. I completely annex the big brown one, taking the infamy. I then vassalise the other little one.

eu3game2011-10-3017-47-56-21.jpg

After that I vassalise the land locked little tribe.

eu3game2011-10-3017-49-09-68.jpg

What's this? :eek:hmy: Oh noes! Diseases!?!? Oh my Sun! What have we done to deserve this terrible thingy?

eu3game2011-10-3017-53-27-80.jpg

The disease lowers my stability, , manpower and raises revolt risk and stability cost.

It's not over yet, now every single province gets a modifier "serious diseases" over time. This wipes out half the population in all my provinces and lowers growth rate, tax, manpower and raises revolt risk. These modifiers then turn into notable diseases, the same but less serious.

eu3game2011-10-3017-54-00-76.jpg

I intergrate Kan'ek.

eu3game2011-10-3018-10-13-02.jpg

I allied Inca, but to no advantage. I cannot get to them  No picture (sorrry)

End picture.

eu3game2011-10-3018-12-59-91.jpg

Until next time, goodbye!

Hmm, pretty interesting, those disease effects.

Good to have Mesoamerica more or less unified now that the Europeans are starting to show up.

Let's just hope the diseases go by time the Europeans arrive!

Very nice, New World country AARs are always interesting. Personally, I do not have the skill to succeed with them, so I enjoy reading AARs on them all the more! :)

Diseases...I know I shouldn't think this, but save the blankets and give them as gifts to the visiting Explorers. And, isn't that how it always goes. You're riding high and then bam...you're knocked way back.

Too bad the diseases didn't occur until after the Europeans arrived. Just think of the storyline you could of had. You could have blamed them.

You're doing a great job. Keep it up.

I'm pretty sure it was their fault. I have never had diseases before and suddenly, after seeing a french boat diseases came. I guess it didn't happen straight afterwards as more contact would have occurred by then.

As the person who created the disease events, I can assure you that when you meet the disease, the Europeans aren't far behind. :)

Great AAR by the way. I'm interested to see how your encounters with the Europeans go.

Thanks! I hope I will survive the Europeans but we will see :D

Sorry I haven't done an update, I got MW3 - yes I am one of those ignorant baffoons! Hopefully I will do one on the weekend.

I like the disease modifiers. But to answer your question, I just really don't like the new texture for the map. The current version of D&T I find much more pleasing.

This is interesting to see how survivable the diseases are. I look forward to your next update (*bump* ;) )

Yeah, the diseases hurt your economy a bit but its nothing annoying, not much anyway.

Update is imminent.

Chapter 5

Not much happened for a long time and @lukew I lied in my last post, the rebels are quite annoying especially in my colonies.

eu3game2011-11-1213-51-18-97.jpg

Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! The diseases are in retreat we will win this war yet!

eu3game2011-11-1213-52-08-87.jpg

OH noooo! The British are coming! Not much to say about this really...

eu3game2011-11-1214-03-38-32.jpg

I get the event of gaining relations with my vassal and stab or CB and non vassalisation. I go for the stab as the disease brought a lot of anarchy.

eu3game2011-11-1214-07-26-76.jpg

It has gone! One of our provinces is free from this horrible disaster!

eu3game2011-11-1214-07-26-76.jpg

This time I decide to take the CB as the eternal war with England prevents me from diploannexing my vassal.

Guess who wins...?

eu3game2011-11-1214-10-38-05.jpg

The Brits want peace! Ha! They fear and marvel at our superior technology and armies!

Oh come on!

eu3game2011-11-1214-25-23-98.jpg

Ok, sorry it was a short one. It was like 20 years in game but a bit uneventful!

eu3game2011-11-1214-25-38-78.jpg

Good thing that nothing major came out of that English war so you could get the diseases out of the way.

Also, fully unified! Wohoo! :D

Yes. I only ever saw 2 English boats who were blockading my ports, but the WE wasn't too desired.

The next updates going to be juicy! The French are coming :D

Chapter 6

Welcome back to the super awesome, action packed adventure that is BLOOD BROTHERS!

Lets start off in the deep end! Look! The French!

eu3game2011-11-2121-05-10-85.jpg

Oh no! What threat will they pose? We all saw what happened with the British, didn't we?

Oh crap, they seized my colony :(

eu3game2011-11-2121-06-25-39.jpg

Their 10K destroys my 45K :(

eu3game2011-11-2121-07-52-20.jpg

Another devastating battle.

eu3game2011-11-2121-10-55-10.jpg

They accept peace after besieging some of my provinces, its ok I got my colony back

eu3game2011-11-2121-14-22-87.jpg

Oh, that wasn't as exciting as you thought it would be, was it? I know it was short but it was actually the longest session I played, its just very uneventful.
