If there is still an open spot for the nomination, I wish to run as a Liberal on the antiwar, pro-market platform I ran on five years ago.

Gabriel Tottenheim, having lost his senate seat and his belief in democracy, leaves the Republicanos Nacionales and instead marches on the streets with the fascist blackshirts, seeking compensation for all of the war veterans and a fair representation in the senate for catholic and conservative groups.

I am agitating. I withdraw my candidacy.

Antonia Zepeda will return for the 1930 elections.

I, Alejandro Farìas, will Run for President on the FNT Ticket!

My policies are: Free Trade/State Capitalism/Secularism/Pacifism/Full Citizenship

Free Trade: Tariffs will just hurt the economy, worsening the worker's living condition.
State Capitalism: State control is necessary in order to introduce effective social reforms and to improve the worker's condition.
Secularism: Church and State must be separated. Every religion is equal before the state.
Pacifism: The World has seen too much bloodshed! It's time to refuse war and militarism!
Full Citizenship: Chile is a nation of immigrants and they deserve the same rights of every chilean citizen.

Let us bring back the breeze of freedom through the streets of Chile, and retake the presidency from the Communistas. The current Communist was luckily a moderate, but his position has polarized politics. The far left Communists call for something of a revolution to bring the radical change their party generally adheres to. The Right has joined together to protect individual property from the potential rise of the Communists.

Bring back Chile to her people, free on her soil, from oppression where it stands, economically or socially.

I call upon the Republicanos and Liberales to forge a Co-alition of liberty against oppression. I furthermore call upon the FNT to consider coalition to centralize its position against the radical Communistas. The FNT represents a faction of those who believe government intervention can be useful, the Communists see it as necessary. So consider that FNT.

Let us bring back Chile para los Chilenos,

Pedro de Cordova.

"As our great Communist Party needs more organisation so we have a better chance of being elected to help the people, I hereby announce the formation of the Buró Político del Partido Comunista de Chile(Politburo of the Communist Party of Chile), BPPCC for short, and the creation of the rank of Secretario General(General Secretary) of the Party. Here are the members of the Politburo currently;

Julio Varde
Agustin Serrano
Ernesto F. Fuentes
Manuel Rommeni

We shall decide a General Secretary soon."

~ Ernesto F. Fuentes, President of Chile and Member of the BPPCC

"Today, I speak to you to announce my platform. The specifics are as follows:

"State Capitalism: state initiatives have been fundamental in ensuring the continued growth of Chilean industry, and it must be upheld. Under my administration, we will continue to focus on reducing unemployment and increasing industry, and we will also consolidate the less efficient industries to improve efficiency.

"Free Trade: Tariffs have been shown to harm industry, especially since we rely on foreign imports for some of our most important raw materials. Therefore, it would be criminally dangerous to clamp down on these imports, since it would cause major damage to our nation's industry, which is barely able to keep up with employment.

"Pro-Miltary: I will ensure that the military is of a sufficient size to ensure both domestic stability and security against foreign powers. A key policy regarding the military will be the widespread adoption of modern technology and tactics, so that the army can be shrunk.

"Secularism: We must not forget that Chile declared independence in order to free itself from Spanish tyranny and its instruments, including the Catholic Church. It is time we took a modern stance towards religion; that is, keeping the government out of it.

"Full Citizenship: Chile is built on the thoughts and labours of immigrants, and to make us otherwise would damage the foundations we are built upon. Therefore, we cannot countenance any restrictions in immigration, apart from those necessary to keep dangerous elements out; it is the responsibility of the nation to accommodate these immigrants.

"Thus concludes my policy review. When you vote, vote not only with your heart and soul, but also with your mind. Trust me; I'm a doctor."

Dr. Sebastian Montenegro

A shame Sebastian Montenegro follows Mateo Saez's doctrine and runs on a secular platform. The lack of moralism in the political right is what made me agitate and leave the party in the first place.

I wish to remind the republicanos nacionales that what Pedro de Cordova speaks is but mere lies. We formed a right-wing coalition with the liberales and what happened? The liberales abandoned us as soon as they realized the coalition was not led by a liberal.

Join me in my struggle of lack of representation in the senate! Moralist and catholic conservatives, the majority of our republicano party members and voters, have been outmaneuvered by anticlerical secularist fascists! I will fight until there is equal representation in the senate!

"I would like to take this time to announce the completion of a new portrait by my long-time friend and artist Francisco Hidalgo (who, I may add, is the grandson of the infamous General Sebastian Hidalgo, fascist general, who deviated from his family's military lineage and decided to take up his own wonderful profession. Such is the greatness of democracy!) of me in admiral's uniform:

I would believe it a crime to say it is not an excellent rendition of me. Not to sound arrogant, of course."

My policies remain the same as the last election. I will always support Laissez Faire and Free Trade for these are a requirement for a strong and growing economy. The experiements of the last government have shown no effecxt on unemployment but have stifled growth. The government has no place in religon and I support a secular state. All people deserve a chance and I therefore support Full Citizenship. The troubles in europe and africa show that we must remain strong and therfore I am Pro Military although I must stress that i will not support any war of aggression.

It is essential in this time of change to go with experience and I offer that. I will support a coalition with the republicanos or FNT but only under certain conditions. I will not support a facist candidate under any condition and will set my stall out on that issue straight away. Now is the time for Chile to grow and I urge my fellow Liberales to support me and how Chile become even greater than it is now.

A State-owned radio station, called La Voz, announces an important broadcast from the La Moneda, citizens gather around a radio by a shop to listen;

"Dear Citizens of Chile, the President....our dear President....has suffered a....heart....attack. Doctors have informed us that his condition is....stable...for now...More news...later" announces Presidential Advisor Manuel Torres

"I am saddened at the news of President Fuentes' suffering at the hands of what seems to be a minor, however painful, heart attack. I wish him and his family well in this time of uncertainty."

~Daniel Palomino
Senator, Admiral, and Presidential Candidate

I believe the Republicanos should ask themselves what future they want for Chile. The Communistas hold a large number of votes if we do not coalesce. I personally would not mind being an underpartner in a coalition, as long as compromise was achieved in policies.

And I hope the Presidente gets through this medical ordeal.

Now THIS, is a true socialists, I urge my comrades in the FNT to support himover General Rivera, though I respect Rivera deeply he is no socialists.

I am happy to see so many antiwar candidates, both in my own party, and amongst the socialistas. Since I am unable to run, I will seek a nomination into the Senate. I believe that all three of our candidates are strong, so I will not declare my support for anyone yet; though both Palomino and de Cordova seem more antiwar than the good Senor Andonie.

I am deeply saddened by the fate of our leader. Hopefully he will not bow to death, but instead challenge it with ferocity. I wish him a quick return to health, and hope that this sad event will not in anyway have a negative effect on his run. I personally will not run for president - however I urge every person in Chile to vote for the Communistas, so that we may enjoy a more years of peace and stability.

I am not pro war señor, I am pro military. The recent large scale wars have shown we need a strong military to defend ourselves. I do not want nor woukd ever countenance using our forces in a war of aggression.

These populist liberals and socialists propose pacifism and even suggest disbanding armies. But when the french knock the door they will regret their shortsightedness. But it will be too late to do something about it. The fascists kept you all safe and happy

"Senor Tottenheim, I proposed lowering the amount of soldiers but increasing funding for our navy. This does not mean we will go on a building spree, but rather we must build our navy up and continually match it to foreign powers in terms of size, skill, technology and experience to keep our shores - and therefore, our nation - safe from foreign influence of any kind. The Army, although key to the safety of Chile, is definitely not needed in such large numbers at this time."

The only reason the French and the USA attacked was because of the Fascists' imperialistic warmongering policies. Now that our reputation is being restored we will be far safer then we were under the fascists.
