It's 10:00, but I can't close the polls as we seem to be in a slightly complicated golden vote scenario.

The Republicanos Nacionales have voted to form a coalition with the Liberales, but the Liberales are split evenly on the coalition. I need another vote from the Liberales to decide whether they will form a coalition with the Republicanos Nacionales.

If the Liberales do vote to form a coalition, the coalition candidate will then be tied between Andonie and Tottenheim, so I additionally need a contingent golden vote for coalition candidate between this pair.

If I don't get the golden vote by this time tomorrow, I'll resolve the situation.

We need Escovedo's vote! Liberales, you need a coalition with us. If you dont do so, the FNT will ally with the comunistas to gain votes andboth of us will fail.

I personally am a Liberale and stand for Liberale principles, but I would like to point out that the Liberales have, more than once, resorted to cheap tactics and shifty coalitions to retain their power in government, or even for something as petty as keeping someone they do not like out of government. Sr. Andonie's grandfather most certainly comes to mind.

I only hope that the new liberal movement is purified of its old, aristocratic roots, and is better prepared to take the reigns of democracy.

I have already made my views clear. I will never go into coalition with facists even if it costs me electorally.

I woukd urge those liberals who voted for a coalition to change their vote to no coalition.

Fascists? I am a very moderate conservative.

You would rather see the country under the red banner than under a prodemocratic government? It is a selfish move. You only want to see your party in power, and that is maybe why you want to avoid a coalition: it would mean sharing power. Put aside your silly prejudices: most of the FNT and communists were guerrillas and terrorists 15 years ago, and many of your own partymen were helping the Frente Nacional. The past is past, it already happened and it is useless to try and hide it. I ask the Liberales to let prejudices aside and work with us to make a better Chile. Like in the old days, different men from different ideologies and party all working together under the Chilean flag for the common good. Lets do it again, under a democratic context, amd lets put our diferences aside for a better future

Also there are two Republicano Nacional senators that have not voted. Please Mr Escovedo, reach us in time.

I change my vote from myself to Fuentes.

I am simply sticking to my beliefs. I spent years fighting against the facists and even more moderate people like you claim to be are too much for me. And as for this being a power grab, I stated before the election my opposition to your party even if it costs me any chance. I will stick to my principles and avoid a coalition with a party I cannot tolerate. This is not the actions of someone trying to desperately grab power.

Your support for a stalwart, uncompromised liberal is noble, Senor Andonie; however, we all oppose socialism, and while I hold no great love for Senor Tottenheim, he is really nothing more than a Nationalista of old. As well, if we compromise, it will be a moderate ticket, something akin to say a laissez-faire, free trade, pluralist, pro-military, full citizenship, since it seems the only issue we seem to have an issue with is economic policy (since my antiwar stance seems unlikely to garner much support).

I personally have nothing against the FNT. We all want the same thing, don't we? I don't mind their economic views, as it will give more security to the people and the economy. I am sure they would be willing to work with me and the Frente in the future and I am sure that together we can bring the values of unity and brotherhood back to the forefront of Chilean society.

I would like to correct you sir, though it is in good spirit. If we would have a joint coalition it would surely be Jingoist, Pluralist or Moralist maybe, Full Cit, Free Trade and Laissez Faire, wouldn't it?

It is against the communists that we are oposing here, but the FNT will surely collaborate with them. The Communists are our real enemy, not the FNT.. but the FNT still aid our enemies.

I do not trust Frente Nacional. After the last several years...can they really be trusted with authority?

My vote shall remain with a Liberale-FNT coalition, however unlikely it may be.

Distrust me all you want, but someday you will want patriots like me. My love of country goes beyond my love of ideology. When that day comes, all the talkin' in the world won't fix nothing and you'll have to rely on individuals like me to keep Chile alive and well.

I put my countrymen over any ideology, Sr. Thaumen. I know we've accomplished great things before and I know we can do it again. I believe Chileans have the fortitude to preserve their freedoms and I believe that we as a nation can rule ourselves democratically. I believe in a bond of brotherhood exists between every Chilean and I believe that every Chilean has a part to play in the bright future of our nation...

can you say the same, Sr Thaumen?

Except the Comunistas, right? Except the FNT, right? Except the Liberales, right? Except anyone who doesn't agree with you, right? Because everyone who isn't as "patriotic" as you isn't fit to rule, right?

I will leave it at that and not bring this any further. 'Tis not worth the trouble.

Splendid party wasn't it. You Chileans don't disappoint me on that subject. I do believe the Liberales can supply the best future for International Guano at the moment. I therefor will endorse this Andonie fella in the elections.
