I may have forgot to announce this in my initial address, but I am Pro-Military! In order to protect our glorious motherland from those who wish to exploit it and fascist rebels are military must stay powerful, once things have calmed and the world is once again at peace can we talk of weakening our military.

I am angered by that fact as the only parties now with presidential candidates are capitalist pigs!

And I am also angered because all candidates are godless reformists. But atleast I'm trying to get signatures for the next election instead of complaining and demanding stuff from the government like you communists do.

The liberales will suffer this election from most of their new supporters being unable to reach the capital to vote, but come next election they will make a heroic return should the worst come about these following days.

Good luck FNT candidates, your socialist policies will be very interesting following the collapse of an authoritative socialist state.

I would just like to point out that fascists are not the same as the FNT. You have a very liberal interpretation of ideology my friend...one which could potentially lead to some very unfortunate happenings for our republic, as evidenced by history. I support cooperation, and though I do not have the authority to make you do anything, I do recommend that you are not so quick to judge. In fact, I must say that you sound more like a conservative than a liberal.
The liberals are party to a very good situation in Chilean politics, something which should be capitalised on. I elect to state that this new republic must not be plagued by the instability of the past. We must leave such things in the past if we are going to get anywhere.

That said, we still have a lot to do. Those of the old dictatorship are still around, and many have been allowed to go free. Even the one who would have become the new head tyrant!

The Frente Nacional proudly remembers Mantiago Retruecano that they enacted a series of social reforms the FNT always wished to implement, like Max 8hrs work, extensive safety measures, public healthcare for everyone, unemployment subsides and lots of pensions. The Frente Nacional also wishes to point out that it has always stood by the people and some how against some of the oppresions of free markets and as such has made some necesary interventions.

And the last parograph of your statement implies that the frente nacional needs to disappear. Are you going to go against the republic's democratic ideals to ban us? I have nothing to say about that.

Gabriel Tottenheim, a member of the still-illegal Frente Nacional

By my count, David Bevan ((WelshDude)) is the FNT nominee. As there is little to say, I will skip the Conventions post of this update and move straight into the Candidates.

The 1916 Candidates

FNT Candidate: David Bevan ((WelshDude))

Pro-Military/Secularism/State Capitalism/Free Trade/Full Citizenship [1+2+0+1+2=6]

A more detailed description of Bevan's policies:

"I am in favour of State Capitalism because all of us should have a chance to succeed, and if the market cannot acheive that, then the government must.

I am in favour of Free Trade because I am in favour of fairness for all. Tariffs may benefit some workers and capitalists becuase it gives them extra income, but who do they harm? The unemployed, already the worst off, because they have to pay more for food. I will build a nation that benefits all, not just many.

I am in favour of full citizenship because we were all immigrants once, and that is what this entire nation was built on.

I am in favour of secularization because we have no right to impose our beliefs on others.

I am pro-military because Chile needs to defend itself, but not go expansionist-crazy."

Liberales Candidate: Carlos Andonie III ((rudders10))
Pro-Military/Secularism/Laissez-Faire/Free Trade/Full Citizenship [1+2+2+1+2=8]

My beliefs are well known but for those who need reminding.

Laissez-Faire- The Government has no business running the economy. What do politicians know about how an economy works? Leave it to those who can work it best for the betterment of Chile.

Free Market- Free Trade benefits Chile and helps create jobs.

Secularism- While I have no problem with those who want to practise their religon, the state should keep oput of it. Look at the trouble the Church caused in the facist years.

Pro-military- Chile must maitain a strong military presence but only enough that is needed to deter intervention from the US or European powers. Anymore drains the country off skilled workers, money and manpower.

Full citizenship- Let us welcome all to Chiule for they shall improve the country with their skills.

Player Actions Needed:
VOTE! I need your vote for Bevan or Andonie. If you vote by party, I will pair your vote to the corresponding ticket.

As always, remember to bold your votes or they might not be counted.

If you're a candidate and you want to change your platform or picture from the above, just let me know. Note that I've started to recycle pictures, as I seem to be running out of good ones...

A sample ballot would look like:
President: Bevan/Andonie

This poll will end at 10:00 AM PST on the 31st (three days). This poll will last longer than usual because I will not have time to update on the morning of the 30th.

What do politicians know about running an economy? Well, given under the free market of the past few years we've seen thousands more people without jobs, everyone lucky enough to have job paid less, and far more poverty. For the average Chilean, it was better to live under the fascists. That's what the capitalists have given us.

There truth is, there would not be any bad economic effects for Chile if the government built factories. If we banned capitalists from building factories, yes. But if the state builds businesses, it can only be good. For instance, if we build a cement factory, more people will have a job, because the cement factory will employ them. The Chilean coal mines will also benefit, because the cement factory will buy their coal. In order to produce enough coal, the coal mine will have to employ more workers. It will also be able to charge more for it's coal, and so will make more profit, and so will be able to pay their workers more. QED.

Mr. Bevan I'd rather have a politician running our economy than a general or trade unionist. Just my two cents.

"Despite personal troubles and my subsequent inability to cast my ballot this election, I throw my support behind Senor Andonie."

That is assumming that politicians can make rational decisions and know what should or should not be built. Well I think it is claear that politicians cannot be trusted to make these decisions. Instead of the Givernment spending money building unneeded factories it should be investing in social services or the construction of things we actually need like a navy.

Also, given the cirruption of the past years who is not to say that politicians will not build inapporpriate facilities just to get votes.

No, the only way is through laisssez faire which as been proven to work. Do not blame laissez faire for what happened in the past 10 years. With so many men mobilized and now returning to work it is no surprise there was less construction and less investemnet in the economy. This will not happen under my Government.

First, even if they make the wrong choice of factory, it will still help the economy, as I have pointed out. Second, if you don't think yourself capable of making rational decisions you shouldn't be running for President. Third, I think the 18% unemployed in Santiago would disagree with you that these factories and jobs are unneeded.
