Since my Partido Populista failed to gain support I shall announce my support for the FNT as well as my canidacy for President of Chile

Mr. Thaumen, join me in my crusade to preserve some of the best achievements of the fascist republic. While I do not think we are in the position to run for presidency, we can work in coalitions with the republicanos and liberales as to further our goals. We must take the place the Patriotas had, and stand in defense of property, law, order and the nation. We mustn't allow the communists to gain the upper hand. Maybe we can be the counterweight the nation needs to keep them in check.

I do not ask you to perfom illegal actions, I am just asking you and whatever nationalists, fascists or reactionaries left out there to stand for their opinions and views in a more democratic context. We can improve our image, make the people now that not all the members of the Frente Nacional are evil criminals. Many of them fought for what they thought was best and therefore we can attempt to preserve the good actions the FN made. Being member of the Frente Nacional shouldn't be a crime: It should be something honorable, a remainder of the glorious days.

Ah, it seems the fascist beast is once again rearing it's ugly head, Chile will never again fall to their tyranny, if I am presidente I will do everything in my power to undermine these wannabe autocrats who wish to subvert our glorious democracy.

I announce my support for the Communistas and my candidancy for President of Chile

I vote YES on the act.

I am not a fan of democracy, but I shall use it as my tool to prevent you commies from destroying our nation with your planned economies and class warfare.

I will not tolerate more witch hunts like the 1914 trials. I will not forget the 1914 trials! Archbishop Fernandez will live in the Frente Nacional's memories, and the illegal execution of Augusto Santa Rosa and the assasination of minister Saez will be avenged from the communists!

I do not wish to express any ill will towards you, Sr. Tottenheim, however as per the conditions of my sentence, I would like to avoid associating with members of the previous National Republic.

Do the commie goons scare you? I will not be pushed over by anyone! I have my right to express my opinion and associate with whoever I want to and I will not allow the commies to silence my right wing views. You should do the same, as the trials were only a witch hunt for political enemies, with no legal evidence.

"I am a member of the Frente Nacional. I was the last Caudillo to ever rule this green and pleasant land, and it would be a disgrace to my honour not to re-affirm my rightful position. For now, however, I cannot reclaim it, but I will do so soon. I will enter the Senate with my hands over my nose, and I will bring back stability and security to this land of ours when I return to power. But that is a mere future conjecture, springing from the mind of a man who has tasted power yet not had his fill."

"What's that? A letter nailed to the doors of the Congreso? That sigil... could it be? Crazzio?"

I urge my nationalist supporters who bolstered the ranks of the UPC in the days of Fascist rule to actively support the Liberales! Yes mi amigos, you heard me right. While they may not be moralists, they believe in free trade and a free economy. Do NOT under any circumstances join the underground neo-nationalist movements, for there is no future in agitation and the age of authoritarianism is over.

---Caitan Crazzio---

"Wow! What a cool guy! The Congreso should really think about absolving him from his crimes!"

"Shhh! The reds will hear you!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for our first election since then end of the tyranny. We will rise high as a people, and we will achieve much, that I'm sure of. As one of the leaders of the Resistance I have come to learn much about our people, and I have come to appreciate even more the spirit of the Chileans to overcome all obstacles. What we need now is stability and prosperity. I think I can provide that. That's why I run for the presidency on a FNT ticket. We need a government of the people, for the people. And I can already tell you, a FNT lead government can provide that. We need to be open for all kinds of political allies, we can't restart the vicious cycles of factionalism and rivalry between Socialists, Communists, Liberals and Conservatives. That's why I promise you that if you elect me as president I will build a broad coalition government with preferably all four parties represented. We need to rebuild Chile together!

I am a member on the FNT and I am running for Presidente. As you all well know, I was a prominent member of the Resistance during the Fascist years. But the important thing is not the past, it's the future. If I am elected Presidente, my government will not tolerate unemployment. I do not mean the unemployed will be punished, I do not mean we will force business owners to give jobs to people. My government will create jobs where there is unemployment, buying only chilean goods so the money goes to Chileans, not Frenchmen or British. Creating competition to drive down prices so Chileans can pay less for more goods.
Many free-marketeers will say it is a violation of the oh-so-holy free market. But we all pay our taxes. We are all Chileans. And we all deserve an equal chance in life. Whether you are a wealthy banker in Santiago or a poor farmer from Valdivies, whther you are an ordinary citizen or a resistance leader, if you elect me as Presidente, I will build a Chile for all of us. Not for some of us, not for most of us, not for a few of us more than others, for all of us equally.

"Forgive me for my seeming ignorance, but does the right not support laissez-faire policies, while the left is more in favor of government involvement in the economy? And if so, are the Republicanos not right-wing? I have seen many Liberals speak of laissez-faire, and last I heard they were a left-wing party."

Actually, both the right and the left disagree with free market policies. Through Chilean history, conservatives, reactionaries and nationalists/fascists have supported state capitalism or interventionism. Also, socialists and communists have been openly critical of the free market (except for Gogolow) and supported either State Capitalism or Planned Economy. It is only the centrist liberals that desire a free market.

And I doubt the liberals can be considered anything but centrists. They have switched alliances with the right and the left during the last 50 years.

"If this is so, and if you are somehow not trying to win support for the Liberals, I hereby change my vote of confidence from the Partido Republicano to el Partido Liberal.

~ Senator Daniel Palomino

I don't give a damn about the liberales. As long as they are not communists I'm fine with it.

The liberales will be running things soon enough. A damn is the least we should be given.

Such confidence for a man who supports democracy -technically sharing power with other groups. Is there a plot in the making here? Because there's a clear FNT-Communist majority.

No plot. Only one man's confidence in the Chilean people supporting freedom. I support the ability for all groups to have voice in our most serene Republic. Supporting, and wanting, are two different things.

Emergency Economic Stability Act: Yes

This act is just temporary and needed to deal with the drastic unemployment and the new President will be able to choose his own policy.

I am running for President as a member of the Partido Republiano.

My lifetime of military experience and leadership in the rebellion makes me the best choice to lead the nation through the transition back to democracy. My platform is Interventionism/Free Trade/Pluralism/Limited Citizenship/Pro-Military
