I would like to point out that these rebels are still our people. They are our factory workers, our farmers, our academics, and our citizens in general. We in the Frente Nacional have done so much for Chile: we have expanded, industrialized, grown national pride, and increased stability to levels unheard of in the 3rd Republic. Truly our reign has been a glorious one, yet let us not forget the liberales. True, Chile needs a strong centralized... I would even say authoritarian... government, but let us at least give some voice to the moderates who currently agitate against our government.

There are three types of rebels in this nation mi amigos but today I shall talk of the Communistas...

1. El Rojos Nuevos- The communists and socialists are bloodthirsty and immoral savages that seek to overturn our government, plunge Chile into turmoil, and install themselves as authoritarian dictators. These rebels are organized and, honestly, no laughing matter. They are led by insane men whose rhetoric feeds off the debunked texts of the infamous Armando Renin, Karl Marx, and that rebellious Finn (It began with an H...?). Their preposterous rhetoric falls on the willing ears of factory workers. They will destroy everything Chile holds dear if they take power by coup. We must stop at nothing to utterly destroy them!

---Caitan Crazzio---

Sigh, once again the propaganda machine of the Tyranny are trying to equalize Socialists with Communists. When in fact the FNT was the most loyal party of the Third Republic, that never plotted to overthrow it, and in fact aided in putting down rebellions of all political colors. The FNT will continue to uphold it's values and the values of the Great Gogolow in the 4th Republic. Down with the Tyrants!

We need to rebuild the military. It will be our death knell to vote in one who would want war during their term.

So consider voting for De Porto, for military rebuilding!

Newspaper reports are claiming that the once famous General Rios has died. He was reported to have been killed wrestling a giant bear he was sharing a cave with high in the Andes. It is believed that the General had been trying to recruit the bears into a militia with te intention of retaking Santiago in a night assualt. It is believed the bear that killed the General was his second in command although this has not been verified.

I am agitating!

"I have heard from sources that Rios is dead. Good! The man was nothing more than a lunatic claiming high-minded ideology. His death at the hands of his second-in-command, a bear, shall go far in explaining what he has sunk to. His lunacy and megalomania began to surface fifteen years ago, in the Contitutional crisis of 1896. It is fortunate as well that he was prevented from exercising his lunacy, otherwise Chile would be in a worse predicament then it ever has been."

I am agitating I am moving throughout Chile, avoiding the Secret Police and training resistance fighters in modern warfare. I had no idea of the peoples hatred for the current regime on the mainland until I saw it with my own eyes. Everywhere I go people are organizing and preparing for revolution. The Republic will be restored and the traitors brought to justice.

*Completely ignoring the "speech" by the so-called Minister of Foreign Affairs*

I shall not be running in this race, meaning that as a General, I carry extreme weight within this comming elections, holding two votes. I am now lending my support, name, votes, and army to Caudillo Saez for another term. He is the only candidate worth voting for, and the only candidate truley for the Military and not for his own personal gain. I also vote No to the Cuba Invasion, even if the Caudillo had not vetoed it, as we lack the ability to take it, especially with the loss of the Canal Zone.

-General Christiano Ferarri
My speech, as you call it, was merely a comical passing fancy, Ferarri. What is more concerning is that you said exactly the same thing as me, but with an aura of serious meaning. You must stop inciting those within your own party; it is not wise to pick internal fights when rebels are among the populace. And to specify: you should recognize and differentiate a speech containing my actual beliefs and ideas from meaningless diatribe such as my " vote weight" comment.

Actually I am the foreign minister. Anyways I withdraw from the race

It has indeed been reported correctly, Rios is indead dead at the hands of the bear. He met a Grizzly end.

Announcing the arrival onto the Chilean Scene of Sain Canoodler. His parentage and nationality iS unkown to him he was raised by street people till the age of 15. He then lied about his age and served in the army for some time before stealing enough money to get into a school where he excelled.

Politically active but independant Sain is unsure where his true loyaltiers lie but he is staunchly against the regime currently in place and is therefore AGITATING.

Sr. Fernandez, you are the Minister of National Security. Escovedo is the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

One wonders how these fools manage anything. None of them know what they are supposed to be doing. I ahve never seen such incompetence.

Sain Canoodler

Sain... Canoodler...? And you have the audacity to poke fun at us? Well, Mr. "Canoodler", I am sure that you shall contribute only mockery to the process of Government, just as your name contributes mockery to whatever unknown place from which you hail. I look forward to the process of voting, now that the wheat has been separated from the chaff as far as candidates go. I encourage the candidates to vocalize their plans for action against the United States and the rebels within our borders, as well as which they will do chronologically. I know that this will help me and the other constituents in our decision.

Even though I am new to the country I am not surprised that you should resort to simple name calling. For that is all you are simple. Your so called government is a mockery of all that is good and free. Never fear you and your crumbling edifice will soon come tumbling down like the house of cards it is. At that time we shall see who is laughing. As for my name, i cam from a long history of canoodlers and am justifiably pround of my name.

You must be new to Chile.

Ah, Mr. Alvarez. Seeing as how you are a former Liberal, I suggest that you join the Democratic Anarchists and our struggle against authoritarianism and the vile antiantidisestablishmentarians. The current dictatorship liberally employs repressive tactics and the Flee State was a hypocritical failure with no authority at all. The Democratic Anarchists are struggling for a free Chile! A Chile free from chili-eating dictators. Their hold over Chile is gaseous at best, and this new "constitution" which they have brought down upon the people of Chile by sheer authoritarian dictates. It constitutes nothing but an insult to the people of Chile.

Jingoism/Secularism/State Capitalism/Protectionism/Residency [0+2+0+0+0=3]

State Capitalism: The economy must be watched over by the state, so as to make sure no one class is oppressing another and to make sure that every Chilean is doing the most he or she possibly can to benefit the Fatherland.
I propose creating a National Trade Union, so that the workers, the capitalists, and the government may all sit down and speak with another in a set, central location. I also believe taxes should be lowered as much as possible without running a deficit.

Protectionism: The Chilean economy should be made as self-sufficient as possible, and foreign products should be gradually phased out in favor of products of the Fatherland. Tariffs should therefore be levied on foreign products.

Jingoism: The military is the center of the Fatherland, and thus it should be prioritized over everything else. To fail to support our military is to invite foreign powers in to Chile in order to control and manipulate the Fatherland.

Secularism: The National Revolution was a revolution of the Chilean people, by the Chilean people, for the Chilean people. Religion should therefore have no influence over the workings of the government that has resulted.

Residency: The Fatherland is Chilean, and only Chilean. The foreign hordes must be kept OUT of Chile, and the beautiful culture of our glorious Fatherland must be preserved and protected against the dangers of foreign radicals.

This century will be a Chilean century under me! Vote Mateo Sáez for a strong, independent Fatherland!

People of Chile!–

How glorious it is that you may all come to the ballot box yet again this year to vote for El Caudillo of the great Chilean State! For consideration during these times, I shall place my planned policies to implement, should I be elected, for all to see.

Regarding the military, I am taking a Jingoist stance. The Army is the centerpiece of Chilean might, power, and prestige, and helps us to project our power across the continent. I will not only strengthen the values of the military within Chilean society, but I will expand the projection power of the Army the world over. I should refrain from forgetting, in fact, that I have been a man of the military for decades; I have stood with the people against leftist insurrections and rebellions, and the work of the Army of Argentina, under my command, brought the Germanista government to the ground and freed the Argentinians from a repressive, tyrannical government.

When it comes to religion, I have a Moralist stance. Chile was founded by Catholic Christians. With strength and faith in God, we shall not forget our religious heritage and the huge part it has played in the creation, strengthening, and unification of Chile and her people. We shall have no other gods but God!

In regards to the domestic economy and industry, I support Laissez-Faire ideals. Our economy has grown to become one of the strongest in the world, and interference on the government's part will only damage it and lead it down the wrong path of planned economics and common leftist beliefs. The industry has thrived without any "help" from the government, and will continue to do so as long as we refrain from interfering.

In regards to the international economy, I support Protectionism. Our economy, as I have already said, is booming; however, other industries, like that of the United States and United Kingdom, threaten the very stability and strength of our own economy. Protective tariffs and other reassuring measures will buoy our dominance in the world market.

Lastly, when it comes to immigration, I am taking a stance for Limited Citizenship. Though immigrants have, in part, driven our economic boom of the recent years, we must remember that it is the Chileans that have taken residency in this country for decades that have laid the foundations for the immigrants of today to arrive and find their new lives in our nation. Chile para los Chilenos, but not to the point of discrimination.

The last step that remains is your choice. I trust that every free and right-minded Chilean shall choose that is best for the nation. I shall see you at the polls!

Chile is weak currently, and her enemies numerous. We must rebuild our armies again to ensure an uprising will be easily quenched. I ask the future Presidente of Chile to consider giving his/her loyal generales a second legion each to solidify our stability!

I thus wish to RUN FOR PRESIDENTE, on a platform of one full electoral cycle of peace and military rebuilding! My policies will be laissez-faire, free-trade, secularism, jingoism, limited citizenship. My policies are however very negotiable, as I want a term primarily run through increasing the military to defend against the rebels.

Stability in the Republic, against all else!

Jingoism/Moralism/Laissez-Faire/Free Trade/Full Citizenship[0+0+2+1+2=5]

Free Market- I believe that an open economy leads to greater international control of the markets. As a veteran of international business affairs, I can conclusively state that a free market leads to a more economically progressive Chile.

Laizzes Faire- After you're through moan about sleazy capitalists whose only goal is to bring down the nation and further their own goals. The economy needs no "guiding hand of the government" in order to prosper. We need only let the industrious have free reign over our economy in order to exponentially grow our wealth and employ millions (more)!

Full Citizenship- CHILE FOR THE CHILEANS... has many downsides, you racists. Immigrants have proven to be the lifeblood of our economy and if we don't let them in they will instead saturate the markets of Brazilians and the Yankees.

Moralism- Chile for the devout! Chile for the Upright! That shall be our motto while I am Caudillo. With a moralistic society comes social order and stability. I am sure all of my fellow nationalists agree on this issue so I need say little more (as it truly is not the most important thing to focus on as of now)

Jingoism- This policy absolutely speaks for itself. Down with transgressors, down with traitors, long live the nationalistas, etc. If I don't make myself clear please talk to a soldier, as military matters bore me to no end.

-------------------------

Player Actions Needed:
As a point of clarification, I took steps to make sure the type of government didn't change to "Democracy" - I had assumed that was not at all the intention of the new constitution.

Furthermore, I still need platforms from basically everyone; I'm either using old platforms or I just don't have one for many of you.

VOTE! I need your vote for Sáez, De Santa Rosa, Fuentes, Hidalgo, Crazzio, or De Porto.

As always, remember to bold your votes or they might not be counted. You still can't vote for yourself.

EDIT: Oh, and if you want, you can pick your own pictures rather than just take what you get in the lottery of whatever I can scrounge up.

A sample ballot would look like:
Caudillo: Sáez/De Santa Rosa/Fuentes/Hidalgo/Crazzio/De Porto

This poll will end at 10:00 AM PST on the 16th (two days) or if 25 votes are reached before that. As a reminder, daylight savings time is in effect in the USA now and my clock got pushed an hour forward.
