The Red Guards have shown their true colours. They were removed from the Army because all members of the armed forces must serve the Chilean Republic not an ideology.

I understand the frustration of the Chileans who are out of work. We have attempted to solve this problem by using government funds to invest in the expansion of key industries. But this has not been enough. I authorize the Minister of Industry and Trade to invest in any industry he feels should be expanded in order to help solve the shortage of jobs. The Church under the leadership of the Archbishop has provided much help and support to the poor and unemployed. I wish to support the Church in its mission to provide food and comfort to the poor. The Archbishop will have access to government funds and support to assist the Church in its humanitarian efforts to help the poor and struggling.

Ah the young nation of Chile still has much to learn it seems. You cannot simply throw a safety net under the poor to keep them from falling you must strike at the root of the problem, that being education.

Honorable members of Chilean Congress and Military. If the COS resigns, what does that entail? Should the Minister of Defense take up his duties until a new election, or does the president take all responsibilities previously held by said COS?
 
In my tribe we elect a new war leader we don't simply give all of our power to one man!
 
I say the president, or the Congreso, nominates a successor, and we vote on it from there.

Since my father's military reform failed, we have a situation like this.

How interesting! Maybe when the Mapuche become a dominant military power in South America we can start reforming our primitive western armies to match up to yours. Till then, how about you try to learn a thing or two about how real civilizations organize a military?

Ironically, they actually are right after all. They might have been dreadful greedy sinners, but they predicted this day would happen and hence wanted to create a system that bans socialism. We might have killed our last chance at salvation.

But do not worry, the lord is greatful to its flock, and this administration will most likely outnumber these criminals who will probably rot in jail.

Renin, now its your time for Redemtion! Surrender your armies to the President! God is merciful.

I have been told the same words by Cardenal Savoia in my visit to the Vatican last week. But I remind you that my job is to deliver a message of peace and love, not a message of war. It is my wish that Renin surrenders his army now so that his soul can be saved! It isnt too late yet, his hands arent stained with the blood of innocents yet.

I also want to announce that the chilean diocese has noted the apparent problem, and in order to relief the situation has taken measures. I myself will lead the delegation to Santiago's industrial sector to deliver food and clothes. Christmas will arrive early this year.

I invite the distinguished figures of the congress to participate in this mass charity event: it
may drown this rebellion before somebody gets hurt.

Thanks to Santa Rosa's aid, we might even get to other cities like Talagante or Antofagasta

The Grand Army of the Republic declares itself for the government.

I neither condemn nor condone the actions that precipitated this uprising. On the one hand, the Juarez coup was a potent justification for removing radicals from the ranks of the army; on the other hand, the 'purge' smacked of political infiltration and involved the discharging of many loyal soldiers who had previously fought for the Republic against the forces of discord. Nonetheless, two wrongs do not make a right. The rebels should have sought redress via parliamentary means, not open rebellion against the constitutional order. When faced with such an attack on the political system, the army must intervene to uphold law and order.

We can do nothing for those who have already died, other than give them a honorable funeral and support their families. For the starving it isnt too late yet, if thesr coordinated charity events are supported by the rich and powerful, it may become a nation-wide movement that may sdve millions from the horrible living conditions of the factory workers and the homeless.

But those in your ranks havent fired a bullet yet. They can still surrender their weapons and return home to the warmth of their families. They arent doomed to die in the battlefield yet; now is their last chance to survive. Lets end this neverensing circle of plots and deaths: break the circle and save thousands. You will save lives and possibly even your career and whatever respectability you have.

Which is why we are planning a mass charity movement. It annoys me that you don't seem to listen to others, well that's radicals I guess. Well I hope we can sort it out peacefully.
