I would oppose the renaming of the party, since it give the perception of limiting the party to only conservative Catholics, rather than secular (though still Catholic) liberals like myself. It simply seems exclusionary and unwise. Perhaps the Patrioticos would be more willing for the name change, considering they've already gone through several.

You are right. I have readressed the letter and gave my motives behind my suggestion of renaming the patriotas. The republicanos have their own identity and history behind their name, and the patriotas are going through identity problems right now.

Are the Patriotas willing to rename the party to Partido Nacional Catolico[\b]?

Somewhere on the Argentina-Chilean border
Pablo Marcus stood alone on guard, most of his friend's in Northern Chile, fighting against the traitor Juarez. He and a few other's who had the misfortunate of being on the badside of their seargant stayed behind to "man the border"
With the bordem getting to him he let out a frusterated shout
"God Danm it, does anything ever happen in this godforsaken pl-"
He was cut off with a bullet to the through, several men stepped back across the border. When his friend's returned all they found was his body and a note
"We are back, we do not forgive, we do not forget, the reactionary's will fall.
We are Amigos De Los Trabajores Chileanos, expect us."

I would first like to congratulate the incoming President Rivera. It is truly obvious now, sir, that you have secured the loyalty as President of even your most ideologically opposed political compatriots.

I would also like to thank the political left. You have proven your strength, and your valuable friendship in the coming term is something that cannot be overestimated.

In addressing you, outgoing President Gogolow; In my speech earlier, I failed to notice a typographical error. The main point of my rhetoric was to reveal that each party has had its major flaws. What I meant to say was that both the right and left had played a part in two recent coups, the right in 1876 and the left now. This is why I call upon all parties to renounce this shameful practice of disenfranchising the common man of Chile.

However, today is a day of celebration and work! Presidente Rivera, godspeed my friend!

I am very proud of the unity Chile showed over the Juarez affair. I will now announce my appointments and priorities for when I take office. My priorities will be to continue our industrial development, to expand the Navy and to safeguard our sphere of influence. My plans for the Navy are to build 8 steam transports, 8-12 monitors and 7 ironclads over the next 5 years as well as updating our Naval bases. The Minister of Defence will take charge of the naval expansion. Maintaining Brazil in our sphere of influence will be our top foreign policy objective. Maintaining influence over Venezuela is our next priority. We will continue to subsidize strategic industries such as defence. Otherwise I will allow our people the freedom to expand our economy through their innovation and hard work.

I have chosen a cabinet containing men of many different viewpoints and experiences who are dedicated to Chile.

Minister of the Interior - Miramontes ((Ivir Baggins))
Minister of the Treasury - de Santa Rosa (Ricardo))
Minister of Foreign Affairs - Gogolow (Dyranum)
Minister of Defence - Ferrari ((King50000))

Senor Ferdinand, your views are extremely reminiscent of mine, so perhaps supporting a free market (and a restoration of liberal ideals in the process) would be in order. As well, you are more than welcome, as are any other antiwar and pacifist individuals, to join the Chilean Peace Society founded by my father.

And thank you for the position, Senor Rivera. I will do my best to ensure Chile's economy remains strong.

It is an honor to be chosen as our Minister of Defense. I will pursue the President's Naval plan to the best of my ability, and hope to increase the Navy even further if funds and timing allow. We have expanded enough and must now consolidate. Once our modernization and expansion of the Navy is complete, we should look to construct and expand our forts and defenses along our northern border. We no longer have any need to expand, and thus must look to stave off any invasion that may or may not in the far future.

The Mapuche Tribe finds Juarez`s total disregard for human life in his quest for power dispicable

Presidente Rivera, I am one who will show you unflinching support in almost all matters. I feel, however, that I must question your choice of foreign minister. I do not question Mr. Gogolow's character, and in fact believe him to be a shining example of Chilean Nationalism and a friend to the incoming government. I believe, however, that his position of Foreign Minister places you both at direct odds. His policies of open immigration and peace & timidity directly conflict with those that you hold dear as the representative for Los Republicanos. However, that being said, I dutifully support all of the ministers. I am sure that you have deduced the merit in your decision, as I must admit that Gogolow was indeed one of the finer presidents that we have had. I warn you, though, not to cross the people of Chile. They elected a conservative government, and it is your duty to see that their wishes are fulfilled

Submitted with the utmost respect,

Mayor Alejandro Ruiz de Escovedo

I thank Presidente Rivera for the generalship I have received. Though not as exciting or important as I had hoped for, beggars can't be choosers.

On the subject of renaming the Patriotas, I would prefer no change be made. Partido Patriota is just fine.

Senor de Escovedo,

I choose Gogolow because of his strong diplomatic skills and credibility on the world stage. He was willing to include myself and General Miramotes in his cabinet and in the name of unity and seeing his strong defence of the Republic I selected him for that position. I feel he will make a strong representative of our nation on the world stage as we fight off French interference in our sphere of influence through diplomatic means.

Reclaim our Youth Bill.

These are the basic provisions of this bill (you must pardon me, as I am neither a lawyer nor a wordsmith by trade)

1) The RDF will be completely dismantled as a paramilitary group
2) All former members of the RDF must swear their allegiance to the government
3) All members of the Communist Party of Chile must make a pledge of pacifism in the face of opposition to their sordid ideologies
4) All weaponry belonging to the RDF must be handed over to the military
4a) Former members of the RDF would be allowed to keep one pistol per household
4b) Those Chileans who rely on their firearms in their line of work may keep a bolt action rifle in place of a pistol
4c) After 5 years the Congresso would assess the militancy of the former RDF and decide whether or not to give back the unrestricted right to bear arms
5) All paramilitary groups will be made illegal
5a) The Congresso can vote by a majority decision whether or not to allow a militia to be created and maintained
5b) Any militia sanctioned by the Chilean Catholic Church would only need a majority decision of 1/3rd of the Congreso

((There's this schlock))

There's this wonderful piece of legislation!

---Caitan Crazzio---

Amigos De Los Trabajados Chileanos , or the ATC, is open to all leftist Chileans who see the light. This reactionary government will slowly destroy us from the inside out, we must agitate them we must fight back. If this "wonderful piece of legislation" that senor Crazzio wishes to sign into law is legislated then we will aid all those it prosecutes.

The Mupache people are distressed that most chileans look down on them. We are planning on introducing legislation to equalize our social standing in the near future.

Mayhaps the Mapuche people should forsake their archaic and outdated traditions and learn how to an assembly line works. There are plenty of jobs in the factories and metropolitan areas of Chile, you need not hunt pigs and gather berries in the wilderness any longer. Embrace modernity mi amigos! Also, I urge you to all support my new bill. Hopefully with it in effect we can curtail the far leftists that are destroying our nation!

---Caitan Crazzio---

On these last proposals, I have a few things to say.

Presidente Cortez's plan, I have yet to decide how I will vote on the matter. I feel that the land redistribution was immensely unfair, but that we would now harm the poorer citizenry by paying them concerns me.

On this radical proposal by Senor Crazzio, I find it incredibly unfounded and will oppose it.

On the upcoming proposal by our Mupache politician to better represent his people in Chile, I wholeheartedly support the measure (provided it doesn't give them undue amount of power, and other minor issues). I believe that all people should be equal under the law, and that we should fairly represent all people that live in our great nation.

How dare you insult our traditions and how dare you imply that we cannot modernize when it is perfectly within our capabilities. The problem is that my people are not fully recognized as the human beings that we are hence the need for legislation. Also the left in Chile is the only political faction that has shown us kindness and recognized us as equals.

I knew that your reasoning would be sound. Obviously, he is a known figure after being Chile's president. I simply ask that you fulfill your duty to the Chilean people as a conservative President. By that, I hope to see you ensure that the skilled Gogolow represents our interests as Republicanos and representatives of the majority of Chileans first and foremost. Otherwise, our majoritarian traditions will become a casualty in the name of unity.

de Escovedo

Indeed, I must echo Curinancu's complaints. While I am supportive of them becoming more Chilean, or Spanish, we should respect their culture and give them the rights that they not only deserve, but what God and our Constitution grant to all men, regardless. The Mapuche have long stood in favour of this Republic, and I see absolutely no reason why we should treat them as second-class citizens, or worse.

I encourage all moderates and liberals in the Republicanos to support this legislation to create equality, and I am certain the socialista and comunista leaders will ask the same of their party members.
