I too am away on a military training assignment but fully endorse Presidente Gogolow. His steady as she goes style is just waht this country needs after he past recklessness.

"Gentlemen, I want to solve the many problems this country has; its lack of social support, its oversized army, to name but a few. We cannot go on in the same lethargic fashion we have done. We need change. I will bring that change."

Severiano Miramontes

It's sunday in Santiago, and the archbishop is giving his sermon in the Cathedral of Santiago. Political and controversial, as always, the archbishop is known for his love of the nation.

As the archbishop of this nation, I cannot influence the elections by telling my flock who to vote for and who to avoid in the ballot. But I promise you: No matter if the country falls into the devil's hands, God will help us. I believe that this is our punishment for not including the masses, our guilt for forgetting the people. God was swift in His ways and in His punishment to the greedy sinners, those liberal politicians and corporate executives saw it coming. And because of them, we are under socialism. God is punishing us for allowing this to happen, for allowing the nation to be ruled without compassion. We lost our values, and we must correct our ways. May the people realize that we have done wrong and we must find our way to fix the problem. Socialism is the devil's work, we must try to evade it's provocative charms. Let's stay true to our values, and hope that one day, there will arrive a messiah to save us from this regime. Not Jesus Christ, but a man of flesh and bone that can defeat the marxist rhetoric and pull the country together. Such day is on the horizon, just wait...

((I never did guarantee them! Since I knew they wouldn't even be passed (though I did support safety reforms...)))

Thank you for your pseudo-support Col. de Porto, I do hope to follow my father's tradition (to a degree) and support some moderation in these turbulent times.

I do believe that while you support the same basic ideas that your father did, you do not have the same support base he used to have. Yours is basically inexistant, as liberalism was proven to be ineffective.

You are mistaken Senor, the ideals of liberalism proved most effective (the economic growth that has been going on since the 1860's is directly attributable), it was only the 'leaders' of the movement that have left it in such dire straits. Liberalism has reached a dark epoch, in no small part due to Andonie, but it will rise again, like a phoenix, for freedom is a popular idea.

I certainly hope that the ideals that made this nation so great will be given a seat in the next administration, whoever may be at the head of it.

((school has really been keeping me from this AAR lately))

From outside the Congresso cheers can be heard. Senators lift their ancient visages to the Congresso doors. The shouting gets louder, and now the pounding of drummers shakes the ground. Just as the Senators hasten to their feet, readying themselves for the mob undoubtedly calling for their blood, a commanding figure bursts through the double doors of the Congresso. Enter Caitán Crazzio

Hola mi amigos! It truly is a joyous day for Chile no? You seem frightened! Don't be for I, as you all must surely know, am Caitán Crazzio. I own a controlling share in the company I founded, Chilean Standard Steel. I have in fact become so fabulously wealthy, famous, and powerful that the common man has taken to calling me "the steel lord." Of course, you all need not refer to me by that popular title and instead shall from now on refer to me as Senator Crazzio, as I have recently bribe-I mean campaigned my way into a position in government, Why did I decide to do this? Certainly not to gain wealth and certainly not to gain even more prestige... No, I have decided to take a more active role in government in order to protect the middle class, the lifeblood of our glorious nation. For now, I shall neither pledge my allegiance to any political party nor vote for president (I have been much too busy to keep up with the mindlessness of politics ((someone fill me in))). But my oh my! Look at the time! I must be going now as I have a 4 PM appointment with the board of CSS (Chilean Standard Steel). By the way, you are all invited to my grand inaugural ball! The festivities will take place tonight at my villa just outside of town. If any politician wishes for my ear, they will undoubtedly be in attendance. Good day senors!

(That was hilarious)

I welcome the... honorable... Senator Crazzio. I hope we will become quite well acquainted in the coming years in Chile.
