I have little interest in politics, this nasty business that has lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Chileans, but I feel compelled to give the people of Chile a true liberal. So I hereby declare my candidacy for President of Chile as a Republicano.

My platform will be: Laissez-faire, Free Trade, Secularism, Pacifism, Full Citizenship.

Under my administration, Chile will have peace, limited government, and freedom.

- Professor Francisco de Santa Rosa

((Yeah, well, the problem is that you are an "independent" candidate (I wouldn't say you are independent though). People tend to want to go to coalition with actual parties with real support. Also, you should really stop using possessive endings (the -'s) on words that you actually want in plural (which is just -s).))
((My grammar always was rather atrocious :/ , I just hope you all realize that the only way we get to keep us socialista's in office is a coalition and I am just offering myself as the man to lead this coalition.

"Comrades, I hereby announce my candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic of Chile, under the Chilean Communist Party nomination. My platform remains the same as five years ago, with all the causes I advocate still being in effect. An independent candidacy, and calls for unification between the FNT and The CCP will not unite us, but divide us further. In times of one of the parties ruling, unification means subjugation. And, while I harbor immense respect for Comrade Gogolow and the FNT, our point of views differ too much in allowing them to take the lead to Socialism. We advocate for Communism, not Socialism. If the FNT wishes to be a part of the coming emancipation, then I urge them to follow us, the CCP, to victory."

Senor you don't seem to understand that without a unified ticket we have no chance at victory and the worker's will be doomed to more years of reactionary rule? If I win my cabinet will be staffed by the FNT and the Communista's, neither party's will be subservient.

"Comrade, the FNT will not simply give up Comrade Gogolows nomination as President, after having served one term. They will nominate him, and back him for another term. While I am always weary of the reactionary cause, they are significantly weak, and didn't manage to make up a strong opposing force last election. We are not under the threat of falling to reactionary rule right now comrade, just stagnation and appeasement. A unified ticket will bring more infighting then you realize, as us Marxists are not willing to give up our goal of a Dictatorship of the Proletarian, nor the Socialists goal of a moderate socialist republic."

We have no idea what the FNT may do, perhaps they see the fact's that when it comes down to it all the other party's would compromise their canidates and unite against us. A compromise between the FNT and the Communista's is the only way to help the worker's of Chile. Besides in the end if we get to a runoff election, which we most likely will if we don't unify, whichever party, the Communista's or the FNT, that drops out after the Runoff will vote for the other and thus be subservient to the other. A Coalition canidate is our only hope.

((Just a friendly reminder: A FNT-Communist coalition is more likely to make the other parties create a counter-coalition than if not. It did happen.))

((Same thing happened last election with you and the liberales standing against Rivera and, well everyone else.))

((Let's just hope what followed doesn't. :p))

((What? You are not making sense with that sentence.))

((Same thing happened last election with you and the liberales standing against Rivera and, well everyone else.))

((Erm, I don't recall there being a Communist-Republicano coalition.))

((Erm, I don't recall there being a Communist-Republicano coalition.))
((Ok excluding the communist's, without the liberale coalition I don' thinkt the FNT will survive a non-socialist Coalition, and the communist's certainly won't.

(( The Communists have been sufficiently robust in the immediately preceding elections. Not having as contentious a primary field as last time, at least not as early, isn't saying much - especially when we essentially do have three communista candidates, only one of them is running as an independent trying to secure a coalition. ))

Comrade General Renin and Comrade General Juarez both make good points, but I am staying out of the political race. I will vote, as is my right as a citizen and my duty as one as well, but I cannot campaign for any candidate.

All Socialists of Chile. Don't you see all the good things the government of señor Gogolow has brought us! I urge you all to back Gogolow and FNT for the Socialist age to continue! The workers are strong when we are united.

((Sigh, was hoping we could switch to AHD so that Laizere faire isn't so uber anymore. Oh well.))

((Wut? Laissez Faire is given more boosts in AHD If I recall correctly. In V-2 it is one of the worst economic policies. Fitting, since it didn't work IRL.))

((Must resist urge to comment otherwise...))

Chile has, for the past two decades, seen immense growth under a free market system (with only Gogolow being the exception). Under my administration, I will continue the successful policies that have made this nation so prosperous.
