((you can vote for a coalition candidate even if you vote no coalition. This way if their is a coalition you vote for your candidate rather than abstaining and costing your party a vote in determining who is the coalition candidate))

((Well thanks Mathrim, you have effectively kept the Socialists out of office for at least 5 more years >

((We're doing far-left politics, right? Then we have to call moderates traitors. Otherwise it wouldn't be fun))

I understand that some comrades of the Politburo think that softening our stances would help us alienating more support from the middle class. A little betterment is better than nothing, isn't it? It would be a great idea, if we were a party, and only a party. But we are more. We are a cause. We carry the hopes of the oppressed. We defend the people. Not the ones who make great discourses about freedom of trade and prosperity but those who starve because the arrival of foreign goods is causing an unbearable inflation.
Those people can't afford to listen to smiling liars, the kind who promises prosperity and brings misery. Because their hope is the only thing that keeps them alive, the only light they aim at. If we betray our ideals and join arms with the capitalists, who would they turn to, what change could they wish for? We are the only alternative they have, let's not sell out our principles, no deals with the capitalists, death to the bourgeoisie.

We could form a coalition with the FNT, and even with the left-wing Republicanos. To nationalize some parts of the economy and offer a tiny social security. But it would be a betrayal. Because our voters are desperate, they don't want us to slowly change the society. They want a revolution, and that's what we aim to bring. If we make concessions, we loose our revolutionary soul and we become a bunch of exploiters. There are already plenty of exploiters, let's stick to the revolution.

I'm seen as an hard-liner, someone out of his mind, not in touch with the political reality. The last part is true. I don't let seats in a relic of colonial oppression change my mind, I stay in touch with the social reality. The one that brings more and more people to the suburbs, hoping to get a job and more importantly, to find food. The one that makes a worker assembly luxury sieges for fifty years while he doesn't even have a stool to sit on. The one that makes a man work from the day he can walk till the day he can't get out of his bed. The one that makes a peasant plough an haciendero's field while the proprietor enjoys raping his daughters. This is the situation the country lives with, the situation I keep in mind.
I'm an hard-liner in this Congresso, but I'm seen as soft during my meetings. The Chilean people won't endure this much longer, soon the oppressors will meet justice.

The Minister of the Treasury, Educardo Emilio Romano has been transported to Santiago hospital, after he experinced a serious pain in his chest earlier today. His family has been informed, and he is currently at the hospital still suffering from pains in his chest. Doctors fear it might be the heart that is failing, he is reported to be very pale, he is experincing cold-sweat and wiggles in pain. His puls is fairly low, and the doctors attempt to ease the pains with medication which seem not to work to their full extent. Due to his condition he has to take a temporary leave from the Ministry.

(at least until more information on a coalition, if that is chosen, is obtained)

So I guess Senator Romano is not "still going strong". I hope the honorable Senator gets better soon, and takes as long a break as necessary to achieve a full recovery.

Gogolow! While I looked down upon your conservative views and mediatory stance towards the Liberales, you have lost all of my respect with this underhanded move. Instead of reaching out to your fellow leftists you choose subservience to the dying Liberales. Would sooner scavenge for a ministerial position than fight (verbally of course) against those who would perpetuate the inequality inherent in the system. A hundred years from now, when young scholars are learning about the history of the Glorious People's Republic of Chile, your name will be synonymous with failure, and they shall say "Wow, you really Gogolo'd that up!" if they were to make a serious and irreversible error.

It's not to late Gogolow, don't you see how even some of your liberal "allies" don't want anything to do with you. Come back to us now and I am sure all will be forgiven.
((Do the math man we can easily win this election if we have the FNT's support and then we can form a TRULY socialist government.

((I'm pretty sure in a hundred years this will be the Chilean Empire, and scholars will be learning about the uselessness of the Communist cause, and how wrong its political and economic system is :p))

((why would you vote for the FNT but then vote for the liberal to head the coaliton? Make more sense to either vote liberal with coalition to FNT or just vote FNT with coalition but gogolow as head?

((Because it is my vote and I can do with it what I want? The vote for coalition candidate doesn't matter about which party it is if they both vote to form a coalition with each other.))
