((that was very long rogov :). I only raised it as the exact in character statement if pardon was for renouncing all titles. You are right about when we were agitating. My point would be you are not ( on the run) and therefore could be arrested as you are public. All up to TH anyway :). Do think though that using your titles realistically would have u getting arrested given what occurred in game))

"Senor Severino, I mean you no harm, and I hastily agree with your proposal. We continue to maintain the Revolutionary Democratic Front, and they have unarmed, but we continue to maintain active service in the event of another reactionary incursion. We are a means to defend the worker, not attack on anyone's behalf.. I do intend to help the Argentinians overthrow their reactionary government, yes. You claim we are violating the sovreighnty of a national state, yet you wish for war against them. Is this not a bit contradictory? You as well claim their republic is defunct, is this not a bit of contradiction as well? You patience may run however you like it Senor Severino, and if you deem me treasonous, and wish my arrest, then you are more then welcome to follow me into the forests of Argentina."

-Armando Renin, Commander in Chief of the Revolutionary Democratic Front, and Chilean Communist Party Politburo member.

A declaration of war is not a violation of a nation's sovereignty. On the contrary, it is a recognition of sovereignty that we would issue such a declaration instead of simply mobilising our armies and invading. We desire only to reclaim the territories that belong to us by rights. We do not seek the downfall of the legitimate government of the Argentine Republic. That is the crucial divergence in the aims of the government and the aims of yourself, Senor Renin.

So long as you do not directly cross from Chilean soil to Argentina, you may proceed as you wish. But the government of the Chilean Republic shall not recognise nor sanction your actions. If you are detained by government forces, we shall not plead your case to the authorities or demand your repatriation. If you are killed in action, we shall not lodge a protest or request the return of bodies for interment. These are the dangers you invite upon yourself when you enter into a foreign conflict in a private capacity. I am sure you are agree that these are reasonable, all aspects considered.

- V. Severino

"While you may be right about "sovereignty" you are only right in international law, and not in the morality of the situation. And it is to be disputed who these lands "rightfully" belong to, one which I will not engage in. As for crossing into Argentina, I would have it no other way, Senor Severino."

-Armando Renin

((And nightmare, I don't think the reactionaries have alot of support in Argentina. It doesn't say so, at least. My presence would be more that of fighting, like yours is, but my presence would as well be to inspire the large Marxist movement there. As well, as having flocks of Marxists come to my call in Argentina.))

No, you can't try Rogov's character. He started agitating at his own discretion and he stopped agitating at his own discretion. People can only be arrested or killed as a consequence of a coup, or at their own request, even if they're agitating.

Guyana Conference: Yes
Argentina Question: No War
Alejandro Cortez: Guilty

Chileans, it is time we build upon the successes of our past years! The international political game has changed in our favor, realizing the dream of a South American union of nations under Chile, and I am honoured to say I played a part in it. But with great power comes great responsibility, and therefore we should be careful in our future dealings and, most importantly, show to the world how Chile is ready to become a stable, progressive and responsible powerhouse. Expel the European yoke from our region, and let it flourish under our benevolent gaze! To achieve those ends, I hereby announce my candidacy for President for the Partido Liberal.

- Minister Lorenzo Subercaseaux

"The admirable and glorious actions of Compañero Renin are a shining light, showing to the workers of the world the path of revolutionary internationalism. I shall immediately make available what small amount of personal funds I have to finance the equipping of the revolutionary expedition. As well, I shall begin the hosting of several fundraising banquets for the Frente Democrático Revolucionario. All power to the workers!"

- Ferran Martí, Alcalde de Santiago

"I thank the gracious Comrade Marti for his support in my expedition, and hope the rest of the CCP see him as a valuable asset to the party's survival, and prosperity."

-Armando Renin, Commander in Chief of The Revolutionary Democratic Front, and Chilean Communist Party Politburo Member.

It is indeed admirable. I urge every Chilean to support the Revolutionary Front, to fight imperialism both home and abroad. Speaking of which, I must point out that the government's going for the easy solution. Yes, it is easy to invade a beaten opponent. Yes, it is easy to feed Venezuelan and Brazilian imperialisms, while pretending to fight imperialism. Yes, it is easy to launch a foreign war to hide the misery of the streets of Santiago. Yes it is easy to lynch one person while the whole party is guilty. Let's focus inwards, bring Chile peace and socialism. Let's call for an independent Guyana. Let's cooperate with our Argentinian friends instead of slaughtering their workers to move a few miles further imaginary lines on a map. Let's invest in people, not in guns. Let's condemn Cortez, seek and condemn his allies, and give his properties to the ones who really need it.

It's not our interests that we represent. But those of the people.

((No, no, guilty, then.))

Guyana Conference: No -Both of the European powers are strong. We should not anger them. And there is no guarantee that life in Venezuela and Brazil will be any better for them.
Argentina Question: War -We have a military. Why not?
Alejandro Cortez: Guilty

It is not imperialism to support the rightful claims of native nations to the colonial territories of foreign powers. Venezuela and Brazil both contain Guyana provinces, and dispute their borders with British and French Guyana respectively. It is only natural that these territories would be admitted to both nations. As the Guyanas have been divided up between three colonial empires, it would be an administrative nightmare to attempt to unify three provinces with different systems of administration into one united nation. The language barrier alone would be a major impediment. Not to mention the colonial administrations and residual elites. It would be an invitation to civil war.

We are not 'slaughtering' Argentine workers, Senor, and such emotive rhetoric does not aid discussion. By all accounts, the Argentine army is in full retreat. We would be simply affecting the just reclamation of our territories, with minimal bloodshed or conflict. We must present this as a fait accompli to the Argentine government, or they will refuse to accept the loss of the provinces. That is why war is necessary. No nation will ever cede territory, no matter how just the cause, on the basis of diplomacy: only a display of strength of arms can guarantee the return of these territories to Chilean control. We will move against Argentina, occupy our provinces and then sue for peace. They are in no position to offer resistance, and shall accept.

High-minded aspirations of principle have little utility or application in the realm of international affairs.

Once more, I am disturbed by your efforts to foster a witch-hunt against the conservadores. First you called for an investigation into the party; now you demand that the property of Senor Cortez and his allies be seized and appropriated. I am reminded of the proscriptions of Octavian, who murdered his political enemies in order to seize their assets. Only those who publicly supported the coup shall be placed on trial. We cannot charge people on the basis of sentiment or sympathy, nor should we waste our time chasing conspiracies without proof or remit.

- V. Severino

Rightful claims? Has Brazil ever occupied these lands? Has Brazil ever asked the Guyanese if they wanted to be Brazilian? No, they just want to extend their power, to dominate more people, to make more money, to exploit more workers. The same goes for Venezuela. The colonial powers must be removed from Guyana, it's a fact. But is American imperialism any better than European imperialism? It would be a nightmare, indeed. It would be a nightmare for the civilian population of Guyana to live under foreign yoke. Anyway, those systems must be unified. Because Brazilian law isn't closer to French law than British law. Maybe you're unaware of the fact, but these people don't speak Spanish nor Portuguese. Is there any reason for them to learn these in stead of English, Dutch or French which some of them already speak? They could even speak an unified Indio language. You speak of an invitation to civil war. Maybe. the only thing that's certain is that Brazilian/Venezuelan colonisation will only result in destroying the Guyanese identity and in nourishing hatred and nationalism.

You don't plan to slaughter anyone. This is all good. But do you really think armies march leaving anything standing behind them? That they pay for their food and court women? That they allow anyone oppose them? No. The "rightfully Chilean" provinces will be pillaged, raped, burnt. Is this what we want for the people living there, "rightfully Chileans"? Do we think extending our borders is worth so much pain?
We don't need them to be part of Chile. They don't want to. Why would we act?

I proud of having principles. Because otherwise I might become like you, merciless, cold, self-centred and manipulative.

I want an investigation. Because none will make me think two people thought they could seize power alone. If you've done nothing wrong, you've nothing to fear.

Here's that map you've all been bugging me about:
