My fellow Chileans, me and my family have always been quite conservative. We've been at odds with the socialists for quite some time, and with the liberals before that. But there are three simple things that my family will not stand for.
1. A government that puts absolute control into one ruler.
2. A government that actively seeks to harm other ideologies, no matter how idiotic they seem.
3. A rebellion seeking to overthrow a popularly elected government.
This coup seems to fall into the last category. Thus, I will fight you to the gates of hell. I declare that me and my army will fight for the Republic.

Even though I disagree with Araya adamantly about Chile's next course, I hate the Socialists and Communists even more. This is the exact reason why I returned to South America, to become a true soldier and martyr for Chile's cause. Now is the time for the people to RISE against this petty and sorry excuse for a government.

Chile has little options. Its people have abandoned this nation to "Rats and Cockroaches" like Carnal, Zepeda, and otherslike them. Chile's people will look to a new order and a fresh start under a glorious regime. And should this coup fail, I am prepared to lay down my life for the glory of the Chilean fatherland, so help me God.
I now ask that my faithful and loyal army of followers to lead Mr. Araya to victory (under a government under my leadership)

I will stand against this coup with all my power... I may no longer be a young man (of course, I wasn't all that young in 1856...), but I have not yet lost my ability to command.
These radicals, almost all of whom have ties to the Rosenoist Accion Patriotica, will destroy this Republic, all that we've accomplished, for the simple fact that their man wasn't able to garner enough support for president! Cortez, whom I showed immense generosity to in 1863, when he was on trial, has shown he is nothing more than an imitator of Cesar, a little Napoleon, a puny Caesar!

The Government still exists and will fight back with all its strength. The people will not be silenced, as they have already chosen their just government, something the traitor Araya does not wish to see come to office. He does not fight for or with the people, and we shall see that when his tyrannical regime is brought crashing down and their bodies are dragged through the dirt of the streets. History shall prove my words right, when every Chilean is free from the tyranny of these reactiuonary traitors and banditos.
