(Mastahcheef, my character is a Liberale, his talk of Republicanism and Democracy was part of his hyberbole of politics my Chilean characters always have.)

Alas, the stalemate... This is why the Communists should have gotten their own party.

((Well, I don't think they should be separated yet. Socialists and communists were members of the same parties, they just represented different tendencies (the Republicanos are made of reactionaries and social traitors, we are made of socialists and radical socialists :O). IRL they split after the Russian revolution, IIRC.))

Edit: Quote added

((please don't say Zepeda, please don't say Zepeda...))

Do we have a winner for Chief of Staff? It wasn't in the last election update.

((Nope its not Zepeda, got his proxy vote. COS is still voting as far as I am aware))

((OK, good! I was very worried for all of one minute! And thank you for informing me... I guess Roseno is leading now...))

((Since I can't really decide, I'm doing this vote just for teh evulz (or teh lulz): ))

Chief of Staff: Martin Schmidt

((Now they're all tied! MWAHAHAHAHA!))

((Well, Schmidt is tolerable... at least he's a Republicano... though maybe Roseno can pull through...))

((If Roseno is elected my character gets to boot and will need to start selling poems again... and he's terrible at writing poetry.... ;) ))

Name: Manuel Gustav Lorenza
Date of Birth: 1842
Occupation: Writer, Artist, activist and former Editor for "The Red Star"
Background: Born in the fall of 1842 to a wealthy liberal family. Originally going to follow his father's footsteps and join liberale politics in his early adulthood he became infatuated with Marx and Engles and became a pronounced socialist. His family disowned him and he lived on the street selling his story's for money. Soon his socialist writings became know to the Chilean Socialist Newspaper "The Red Star". His skills allowed him to quickly move up the ranks and become editor-in chief. His career seemed to stop there, when suddenly the senator from their province dropped dead. He decided to run for the FNT positon as senate. It was an uphill battle in the strong liberal province, but the increase in factories in the area gave him an edge enough to win the special election. Then rushed to Congress to cast his ballot.
Manuel comes bursting into the congress room with the votes of him and his delegates hoping he is not to late
Carnal!, my vote is for Carnal. May the working man forever lead Chile

((Wow, that was unexpected)).

((OOC: Yeah hey everybody I have been following this AAR for a while and was really enjoying it, despite my frusteration at the FNT's electoral failing's, and I decided to join the game. I am still working out the details for a backstory but I will have that up tomorrow. ))

((Oh and hate to double post, but can anyone tell me where to find the platforms of the chief of Staff canidates?))

((I was going to keep you...
And there are no platforms, just what we have each said. My character, Roseno, is a Liberal but is the one most likely out of the 3 to put only those capable of leading armies and men into battle as Generals. He also has the most experience out of the 3, and is of higher rank.))

((You can simply edit your post >_< xD))

(I have to admit I am spectacle of you Leroyjenkins, I cant help it. Your future participation in the AAR will prove me wrong though)

It seems the tides are turning against Free and glorious Chile. Though I wonder if the FNT will realize what winning the election will mean in terms of electoral shift.

((Hopefully I will, is there any reason you mistrust me? Other than the fact that I just cost your party the election ;)

Well, in a shocking come-from-behind late this evening...

President:
Carlos Andonie ((rudders10)): 12
Carlos Carnal ((Red Cesar)): 13

Army Chief of Staff:
Severiano Miramontes ((Ivir Baggins)): 7
Martin Schmidt ((lordvagrant)): 7
Sebastian Roseno ((King50000)): 6

We're technically at 25 votes but given how close the polls are, I won't close them until tomorrow morning.

EDIT: And if you haven't voted before but would like to, now is the time. You can decide the course of the election...

General Roseno is in no way an imperialist, Senor; he has been a staunch supporter of the Republic since its inception.

((And Rudders, where is your friend? Tell him to bring two other people...))
