Any answer would be higher than zero, senor.

"If Andonie was elected, how many ships would he build? And of what kind?"

Severiano Miramontes

This is a good question and I am currently checking with my staff on the figures and will come back to you shortly. In an ideal world I would look to build a number of heavy ships as befitting our status and to prevent any potential blockades. We also need transports as we now have a large geographical area to cvover and potentially any colonial activity. I find it ludicrous that if needed our army would takes months to get anywhere as it would be unsafe to ship them without escorts.

I will come back to you with more detail though sir.

Carlos Andonie

((Well, since German is somewhat inactive (and for all we know, not even in South America), I'll put him on reserve and create a new character FTM.))

Name: Mateo Sáez
Age: 30 (born 1845)
Political Affiliation: Independent, member of Acción Patriótica
Alignment: Conservative/nationalist; proto-fascist

Born the year before Badajoz's attempted coup in Antofagasta, the coup radicalized the well-to-do Sáez family from former moderate conservatives to full-blown nationalists. Thus, Mateo grew up with a distinct hatred of liberalism drilled into him. When Mateo was 10 years of age, Cesar Roseno (or Cesar I) brought down the Republican government and declared himself Emperor of the Andes. The Sáez family, for the most part, kept out of the affair (in his later years, Mateo figures he would have sided with the Republican rebels). Regardless, the Sáez family disliked the "Santa Rosa Republic", as Mateo would refer to it, and turned to Acción Patriótica, Jorges Roseno's nationalist group. Although a member of Acción Patriótica, Mateo otherwise describes himself as an independent, not satisfied with the Republicanos, as he sees them as being too moderate to effectively lead Chile.

OOC: from a character my character hates passionately, to someone colonel Wessmüller would agree alot with.... Well, I'd probably make my next character very different too.

((Yeah, I'm flip-flopping today. Sorry TH))

What are you changing your vote from?

The tally currently stands at:

President:
Carlos Andonie ((rudders10)): 12
Carlos Carnal ((Red Cesar)): 11

We're still as close as we've ever been. So again, an open message to everyone who hasn't voted - vote! You could decide this election.

((TH, I'm assuming I can't vote. Am I correct?))

Uh, no you can't. Not at all. You declared as an agitator for this term, voluntarily disenfranchising yourself in doing so, so none of your characters can vote.

(I have to say, yourwrstnightmr's vote for spite to destroy the Republicanos was hilarious, +1 to you sir)

I am overjoyed to see the people of sense, liberty, and glorious freedom winning the day for Chile. We shall revel in illustrious Republican Freedom, and drink the amber filled goblets of Democratic ecstasy.

I've been working in a factory for the last few years to get to know the working class better. I come back as Socialisto as ever.

It'll be Carnal

((Here you go, stalemate :p))

Do not forget your Liberale allies. Without them, Andonie would not stand a chance against Carnal. Though I do support some Republican values, their moderate position is not in line with my thoughts and ideals; however, I would definitely rather a Republicano over a Socialista any day.

((you could not have stayed away in the factory another couple of days :) ))

(Mastahcheef, my character is a Liberale, his talk of Republicanism and Democracy was part of his hyberbole of politics my Chilean characters always have.)

Alas, the stalemate... This is why the Communists should have gotten their own party.

(( can still think of one person who has not voted yet.......))

((Ah, I feel a fool now XD.))

Indeed. Political concentration is not always the best in scenarios such as these. I will only fear what could happen should the Socialistas gain the office of Presidency. The reactions of some nationalists - even those moreso than myself - could bring about disastrous results.

(get to him/her, and get to him/her fast! ;-). Joking of course.)

I hereby vote for Mr. Roseno to assend to the position of COS. He is an army man through and through, has shown the ability to be non-partisan, and his experience will prevail him in a new structure of our glorious illustrious grandiose majestic schizophrenic Democracy.

((please don't say Zepeda, please don't say Zepeda...))

Do we have a winner for Chief of Staff? It wasn't in the last election update.
