After making my estimations, I resign from the Primaries. There is no chance that I or any other candidate will be able to best the popularity of the aging Santa Rosa.
Therefore, I see no reason to continue running for candidate of the Republicans. It is only my hope that with time, the younger generation of the party will be let forth. If the young are not given a say but are instead relegated to low positions then the party will stagnate and eventually crumble.

- Sérgio Gogołów

((By the way, how old is de Santa Rosa anyways?))

((His godparents are Adam and Eve.))

((May I still enlist?))

Name: Ramón Acevedo
Birth: Summer 1829
Region: (formerly Argentinian) Patagonia

His parents had a small farm in Patagonia which was raided by Mapuche indios. They were patriots, had fought the Spanish, and asked the local commander for help but the army didn't move an inch until an hacedendo was robbed. The commander told them that two kind of people could colonize: big landlords and small peones. Farmers were not meant to own the place they tilled. He worked as gaucho until then and served as scout against the Chilean army when they first invaded Argentina. He is now a Chilean citizen but isn't too happy of the fact. He wants things to change and fast but isn't afraid of lying (mostly to the rich) to attain his goals. He got elected because he promised the poor land reform and the rich federalism. He wishes to poor the get out of poverty and the rich to get out of Chile.

((I might make mistakes, don't hesitate to PM me, since English is my fourth language :O))

I support the Socialisto candidate and I agree with Compañero Carnal's minority policy even so I think cultural autonomy or the regions is direly needed in such a vast country.

((Blindgoose, that's close! They're actually my grandparents! :D

Really it's 62, not extremely old... just the oldest Chile's elected, as far as I know))

FNT Update:

Ramón Acevedo ((Mathrim)) has joined the party. The party now consists of 4 people.

EDIT: Osvaldo Tamiuski ((tamius23)) is also in the party. Total:5.

((I find it funny that we had as many candidates as you have members...))

It would appear that my chances are slim but I will not withdraw from the race. I believe it is important for Chile and our fledgling democracy that debate occurs and this is best served with a number of candidates and divergent views.

Minister of the Interior and Senator for Santiago
Carlos Andonie

((The five of you had virtually the exact same policies.))

((The only thing the 5 canddiates all agreed on were free trade and pluralism. Differences over economic policy and military policy.))

((And your candidates agreed on everything...))

((I don't rightly know how you managed it, Galante; seems like my opponents are fine just waiting for the votes to come in, and are loathe to criticize one another...))

((So, if you agree on 99%, but have one little difference, you're inclined to argue that one point? No wonder Trotsky and Stalin hated one another!))

((That wasn't exactly "one little difference". Anyway, in the context of the left, the difference between our candidates is not one of policy, but one of strategy, namely, the eternal question of reform or revolution.))

It would appear that Santa Rosa is gathering large support and this is to be expected when he has such an advantage over the other candidates. It is hard not to vote for the man when he agrees with whatever you say or ask for, despite how contradictary these biews may be. He may say that he is merely trying to see all sides and support a range of views. I, Carlos Andonie say it is a sign that he supports nothing but his desire to hold onto the power he has.

Santa Rosa has achieved many things including an ability to be all things to all people. I on the other hand while prepared to listen to the views of others and work with a broad spectrum of people have always made my views known, crystal clear. People know what they wil get when they vote for Carlos Andonie.

((I dont know, andonie is not scared of being critical)) :)
