((Sure which is why half of them are Liberales *eyerole* but I don't want to get in a big OOC fight over this, so let's drop it and keep the arguing over corruption IC))

((two liberals, a republicano, a nacionales and an independent. Not overly distorted i think. I even appointed someone from the party that hated me, the nacionales.))

((I was refering to myself wanting to help prove that what he is doing is the worst possible things that could ever possible happen to Chile.

If Gologov wins, I doubt he would settle for letting him do this though.))

((Oh, I see. :p

Renin even stated he would completely reshuffle the government and destroy the Republic as we know it.

Burn at the stake! :D))

This is precisely what we don't need. No matter what you say you are doing, you are still following nepotism, as General Maximilien previously stated. You are not going to be promoting Generals based on merit and their skill in the field, but merely by their political associations, to create a "fair and balanced leadership". This is all I have heard you speak of; and God help us if half of our generals under your leadership wouldn't even know how to pick up a rifle, and yet it would be "perfectly fine", as long as it gives a general from all parties a stab at leadership. The promotion of men based on merit alone and not merely political stance has kept this republic alive; doing otherwise would incite violence, a wish for one political party to gain complete control over the generalship. This is what we need to refrain from doing, Senor.
Please do not be ignorant senor, we have competent military men of every party and many of which will not rise to their full potential because of political bickering and grievances. We will never see a truly fair military and fair republic until we have a a variety of view points inside the military. I am not even going to comment on your last segment because it lacks any semblance of sense.

We don't need different viewpoints within the military. The military should only have one thing on it's mind: the defense of Chile. Anything more will muddy the waters and make the military as corrupt as the government [can be]. The military does not and will not be distorted by political viewpoints. Leave this to the Congreso and the Presidente, Senor.

Which is why they never back coups right senor?

((What we really need, is an updated character sheet.))

If there is, say, a Republican coup against a Nationalist government (I will refrain from using a Socialist government to avoid being called a hater of "equality"), and there are an equally distributed number of generals from all political parties, there is a bigger chance that the coup will gain more support. If there is a less diversified generalship, there is a smaller chance of them backing a coup and instead backing the government.

Not really because when one party coups a democratically elected party the magority of those not in the usurping party will back the government out of fear of persecution. Really this "merit based system" is why their have been so many coups and why men like Roseno, senior, have risen to power.

((I should bring Cesar I back from the dead just to seek revenge on all those that now tarnish his name!))

((Cesar's Zombie Empire vs Socialists & Communists vs Republicanos & Liberales vs Nacional New World Order.

Sounds awesome.))

I am frustrated and saddened by some of what I hear. I fear that some may have declared against the coup prematurely without realizing this is unlike other coups. We do not seek to destroy democracy, we do not seek to inhibit political discourse or opposition and we do not want military government. What we want is a true democracy where individuals matter. We are for free elections, we are not rolling back reforms but understandably people saw coup and assumed the worst. We are not and never will be a tyranny and we offer peace and amnesty to anyone when we win.

Funny, this sounds incredibly similar to an attempted arrest of the president a few years back that you vehemently opposed. Severino did not want to inhibit political discourse or opposition, did not want military government, was for free elections, did not support rolling back reforms, and wanted a true democracy that was free from backroom-deals.

Interesting how you were so horridly opposed to Severino's actions and yet you act them out on a much more radical scale. What a hypocrite.

Poor severino was acting out of spite and bitterness brought on by being caught in his own devious schemes. I am acting from a nobler perspective of trying to install a democratic system where those schemes cannot take place.

"Señor, I am fairly certain that what you are doing is not out of any noble motivation. Merely a quest for power and an attempt to prevent the people from from asserting their interests over those of the wealthy."

You are wrong señor but I know that only actions will convince you. I would say though that our new democracy will give all the people more of a say than they do now.
