i have already seen new version of NWO 2

some bugs:

1) some Soviet leaders don't have pictures
review my Soviet leaders file
these missing pictures are in your folder ...\gfx\interface\pics (R1-R18 and R25-R27)
for example, аdmiral Kasatonov V.A. should have picture R3

and you haven't added these leaders (see my leader's file):

Rudskoy F.A. 30792 SOV 1954 1990 1990 1990 3 4 128 2 0 5 0 R8 1954 1982 x
Timofey Khryukin 30793 SOV 1939 1942 1944 1990 1 4 20480 3 0 5 2 R27 1939 1953 x

2)
Also SOV tech level and OOB/production line need to be aligned;the SOV starting divisions are mostly 1948 model, but they only have 1942 tech. And everything currently in production is also above their tech level, they even produce nuclear subs which for 1945 is obviously wrong :)

I think - guards infantry divisions (for example, 23-ya Gvardyeiskaya Strelkovaya Divizyia) should be 1945 technology

other divisions (for example, 67-ya Strelkovaya Divizyia) - 1942 technology

and in production anywhere 1944-1945 technology, in addition to the missile and nuclear weapons

I fixed the tech teams issue, i don't know why they were not activated in db\teams.txt.

BTW, i think that ussr should be a bit technologically advanced in the 1956 scenario, for that year the Mig 17 and the t-54 among others, were already invented...

1956 is not ready yet, all countries have AFAIK 1950 tech levels then. :)

FCZP, thanks, I downloaded the file and will update the currently used soviet.csv set!

What's new in your list of Soviet of Ministers?
I believe the current version of the ministers in 1.8.8 most correct

Bizon
only these lines are necessary to fix in "ministers_sov.csv":
30200 Head of State Lavrentiy P. Beria 1953 1964 ST Autocratic Charmer Medium 3189 X
30201 Head of State Nikita S. Khrushchev 1953 1964 LE Die-hard Reformer Medium 3213 X

and see my previous post in this thread - I edited it

Since the original idea of the USSR was a global state, with each nation having its own Soviet Socialist Republic, it would make sense for this path to be viable for the player; although when I followed this route, Bulgaria switched sides as I annexed it from the Axis and became my puppet state, and Germany later declared independence as well (I believe the OP is already addressing this).

It would be nice if there was no auto-release of puppets for the USSR, and Lenin's dream of a World Soviet Republic could be fulfilled.

It also would be greatly appreciated if instead of Kruschev, it would be possible for Molotov, Stalin's closest and most loyal ally to become leader himself, as this was the most likely scenario. There would obviously be no de-Stalinization under this new regime. Molotov should rule until the end of the game, as he died in 1986. Also, there would be no Sino-Soviet split if Molotov came to power (if the Communists won in China in the first place).

Possible successors of Stalin are 4 main groups:

-Kruschev and his anti-Stalinists: whose main goal was to increase the Soviet people's quality of life; liberalization, "thaw" of society, built apartments for the people, and much more. However, the economy stagnated and the party elites became corrupt in the absence of Stalin's harsh punishments (death or gulag) for nomenklatura incompetence, disloyalty, or corruption,

-Malenkov, Molotov, and other "Anti-Party Group" members: Stalinists who wanted to reform the system, in Malenkov's short time in office decreased Soviet party elite's salaries and increased the salary of the average worker. Their plan was a shift from heavy industry towards consumer goods, and domination by the technical intellgentsia.

-Beria, who expressed admiration for capitalism, would likely go down Chinese-style free market reforms, meanwhile maintaining an iron grip on culture and ban all dissent.

-The military, headed by Zhukov.

not bad)

mistakes in soviet divisions names:

1) now:
5-ya Mongolskyi Kavaleriiskaya Divizyia, 6-ya Mongolskyi Kavaleriiskaya Divizyia and so on

correct:
5-ya Mongolskaya Kavaleriyskaya Divizyia

2) now:
59-ya Kavaleriiskaya Divizyia and so on

correct:
59-ya Kavaleriyskaya Divizyia

3) now:
landunit = {
id = { type = 30151 id = 10 }
name = "1-ya Krasnaya Znameni Armiya"
location = 1191
division = {

correct:
landunit = {
id = { type = 30151 id = 10 }
name = "1-ya Krasnoznamennaya Armiya"
location = 1191
division = {

or

landunit = {
id = { type = 30151 id = 10 }
name = "1st Red Banner Army"
location = 1191
division = {

I still experience the problem with ddr that annex countries when i'm at war, and again i should remove ddr from the map, i didnt touch the events files, and the europe is correctly partitioned...i'm the only one that have this problem? i have the correct 1.02 full version.Is there any way to solve this problem?

No, removing it won't help, it's 100% tied to controller of Berlin.

Are you sure you don't use 1953 or 1956 scenario? I'll review all the scenarios and fire up WW3 in each of them to see if it happens.

As for scenario edits, like incorrect names, I already did them :) I'm not sure if I can get tech levels 100% right for every Soviet division, maybe you could help me by downloading 1.9.0 version when it's released, looking if I made it right and doing necessary changes yourself?

I already took care of the pivotal part of 1.9.0 release, namely 1953 scenario, with proper tech levels, changed division models, OOBs and cabinets. I'd risk stating that it's done better than 1950 scenario because meantime I spotted and corrected several 1950 mistakes that I wasn't aware of.

Because 1953 scenario starts the day after Stalin dies, it's natural that an event chain for possible succession should take special attention, I'll be doing it tomorrow and it will for sure be included in the next release. Thanks for your proposed event actions, I'll probably include them exactly as they are, and try to include as much from your recent (3-4 weeks old) list of other proposed Soviet events:

use it for creating Soviet post-war events
The Lesser Terror: Soviet State Security, 1939-1953
see also all Chapter 7

Probably post-war events won't be that detailed but today I gave USSR some love by making events for 1953 power struggle and various minor events you proposed (like U-2 incident, Doctors' Plot, etc.). Thanks for interesting read anyway!

There you go: http://www.mediafire.com/?3xfkrmwp8v9rlx3
Feel free to use it if you like it

Cool! I even made a guess what speeches will make it to the clip, being almost sure that Kennedy's Cuban Crisis speech will be in (It shall be the policy of this nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union...) but it's a very good choice anyway. Will there be some WiF2 music pack or is it not linked to this? :)

While playing as Italy i got a nasty bug, 'time of peace' event, which added to -35% IC modifier that was already applied!

i'm playing newest NWO2 on top of Darkest Hour 1.02, no more modifications, it didn't happen in vanilla.

IC penalty is huge.... -70%... i'm afraid another event will fire and i will have minus IC.... timeofpeace.jpg

you're playing italy? how did you get 600 IC?

i attacked germany when it was on the eastern front, and i synchronized it with allies attack from west side

event came up telling me i got germany and i annexed it via this event (was not able to do it manually until all VP were taken by allies or russia)

before that i conquered balkans by giving lots of money to germany france U.K. to not attack me. (i was playing 1933 campaign not 36)

i also annexed france or rather vichy france, but it was called france just after germany conquered it. just took 2 ports in Africa, Vichy and Marseille because it doesn't have any independence guarantee (i think it should have from germany)

i was not using any cheats, well other than if someone DoWed me, i reloaded a save and tried to be more careful

is there any way to remove it manually? And anyway, why it would give me two peacetime modifies, is it because i got germany?

juice99, if you want to remove it manually, you have to open your savegame in a text editor (look for a file in "Mods\New World Order\scenarios\save games" folder) and then find two consecutive lines: "country = {" and "tag = ITA". Everything below will be entries defining Italy in your game. You have to look for an entry "industrial_modifier" which should read "industrial_modifier = 0.3" (1.0 - 0.7 penalty); you have to delete the line or change it to industrial_modifier = 1.0.

EDIT: You probably have to Ctrl+F just for entry "industrial_modifier = 0.3", I doubt there is another country with such punishment. ;)

But I'm wondering what may have caused the event to fire twice, I'll check it when I'm back home. -35% penalty, while unpleasant, is necessary not to let countries amass huge industrial/military base throughout years of cold war. Military engagement counted in active units should rather fall from WW2 level. I'll be tackling demobilization sometimes around 2.0 release, for now only "Time of Peace" event serves this purpose.

After a quick glance, I'm suprised that the event fired before 1945, AFAIR it shouldn't. Maybe there's some problem with startdate and deathdate entries. Anyway, one question: did two events fired twice in quick succession or not? You describe in detail what did you do as Italy but I miss information when exactly did the event happened. Thanks!

NickRooz, I remember about those issues, I think I cleared out problems reported before August so it's my priority. Yesterday, when testing 1953 scenario, I played for the first time (yeah, it's nothing to boast about) till the end of the timeline (I always stopped playing earlier and made changes to the mod, then started anew). The matter of West Guinea is easy, the event depended on earlier event firing and if the game was started in scenario later than 1945 one, it couldn't fire. I'm going to rewrite it, a similar problem happens with the end of Korean War.

As for independence of Kuwait, there are indeed a couple of cases where the events do not fire for colonial releases while they work if fired manually through the console. I'm working on it :)
