Shaybanid
Chapter 2
First thing I will do is recruit soldiers for the military.
China's population is larger than mine (252m to 213m) so I have to do this if I want to think about invading them.
I'll be recruiting infantry. Guards don't come along until 1850. *clickity click* x170
I'm starting with Medicine tech, as it may allow me to invent Prophylaxis against Malaria. That will allow me to begin my colonisation.
Speaking of colonisation, I am able to colonise (some of) the Transvaal at the beginning of the game. I have 2 national focus points (limited by tech) and 4m Uzbek POPs.
Oh, and now I get to press the spacebar. There's no going back now.
Not a lot interesting happened in 1836, but here's a little picture. I haven't built any factories myself yet. I had no capitalists at the beginning of the game, but now I have a burgeoning bourgeois and they've found themselves some money to start companies.
However, none of the infantry queued up at the beginning of the game have begun recruitment, due to a small arms shortage. I wonder whether it would have been better to recruit irregulars instead.
I barely ever choose to… oppress my minorities. However, they have assimilated a bit…
… to Chinamen.
Austria declared war on Bohemia in Jan 1838. Austria brought in all its German SOI and Bohemia had some too. Bohemia was also at war with Spain at the time.
World War I has begun, in 1838.
Bohemia is at war with France, GB, Spain and Austria, all at once.
In the log France can be seen demanding three regions off Peru.
Transvaal colonisation complete, medicine tech almost finished. You might also see one brigade has started construction.
I have a few techs I need to research:
Mechanised Mining (allows small arms factories)
Idealism (not before 1840) (allows faster research)
Post-Nelsonian Thought (allows naval bases for easier colonisation. I only have 1 naval base, around the coast of modern-day Pakistan, and I need one in Kamchatka and one in Bengal)
Muzzle-Loaded Rifles (prerequisite for Machine Guns in 1870, for colonisation)
Idealogical Thought (prerequisite for Nationalism and Imperialism, also for colonisation)
Freedom of Trade because I haven't done it yet, and it's a very good first tech. Why didn't I do it first, then? o
I'll leave this update here. The 20 screenshots is a limit, not a target…
