Question, when does Nationalist China gain cores on Tibet and Mongolia? It is 1923, I annexed both and the UFA(russian revolter). I have partisan levels in both even though China should have them as cores. Is there an event to restore the cores?

UFA didn't support China, so it should have revolter
Mongolia maybe, after say 5-10 years of occupation (assuming the pro-Chinese/white Russian/democratic forces are not pushed out of Mongolia early on, it probably should have cores since there'd be no reason to revolt, better than being a communist puppet).
Tibet should have cores, I don't care about modern Free Tibet movements, historically they wouldn't have had revolt issues.

I don't expect cores for the UFA. Maybe Vladivostok, but not necessarily. I knocked them over hoping they would have decent(better than China) tech teams. LOL.

ETA, it is now 1930 and all of China is united. Will Japan invade Manchuria in 31?

1931. Japan attacks a united China despite being completely unprepared to do so. You might need a prewar ai switch so Japan builds up in Korea before trying to attack China. Japan had 4 divisions in Korea and only1 in Port Arthur when they attacked me.

I mentioned this to Martin BG, his response was:

I don't think the AI is smart. My guess is that it still uses its 1914 invasion AI which has more or less all beaches in the world in its ignore = { } section.

Ok, here's my dilemma. I've played Japan since 1914. I didn't get invited into the Allies and England didn't join the war against the CP. The Allies still won the war. Now it's 1929 and I have been eying China for many years but I can't get their belligerence up enough to attack. I assumed I'd be having clashes with China over the years, maybe events that are related to it but no. I've the historical war date comes and goes I'll just cheat my way into attacking them.

Hey guys. I have played to 1939 and noticed some issues that will be your provenance to fix. First, the Anschluss never fired. I spoke with AC about that, hopefully AC has a solution to give you for that part.Germany went down the Superior Firepower path instead of Mobility. They have no armor and lack the ability to even research the tech. I may go back to my 34 save and put Germany on the "right path". Overall, I would say your mod is on the right path so I nominated you for mod of the month. You still have some issues, but it is playable and very stable.

You will get the historical event in 1931.

The game engine doesn't support this without remaking the map.
Also, i think it would be strange to have stalingrad, supposing trotsky would have beaten stalin. ;)

@the chinese qustion: i though i had fixed the problem with japan ignoring china... hm... i'll look into it. Thanks for the cookies though.
Regarding events/additional alterantive historiy choices: as you are doing CCIP (great mod btw, i really love playing it in dh-full), ... you wouldn't mind adding those events to ccip, would you? Also, you have a lot more knowledge on the area during that period than I have.

I mean, doing all of that separately here in AAR of course is doable, but i really feel as much china-related event chains should be included in CCIP, so we can save effort on development. The east asian nations really need a lot of love during the interwar period, and i think it would justify adding a seperate module to CCIP, wouldn't it? The long-term goal (for me) is to have as much of the interwar period included in the main game as possible; of course it still needs a lot more work and refinement.

I'm happy to make an AAR-CCIP module burning. Do you have any preferences for event id ranges?

Keep in mind that a 1914 CCIP module will probably make a ton of changes to China in vanilla....

Incidentally, you might want to cleanup the AAR scenarios (.eug) format to 1.02.

Edit:
Added in factions and first event chain. I removed the starting OOB for all China countries since it is incredibly inaccurate and having none is (imo) better. I might need help with ministers later Burning.

Also: Bug report: Your civil war event in AAR (rise of warlords) doesn't work properly. At least, civil_war isn't having any impact if the country exists, if it doesn't exist, it only liberates the capital province. Also, civil war only works if all of the countries have UCH/CHI as their regular tag (which they didn't until I fixed it in revolt.txt)

Lastly, you wouldn't happen to know if you could spare two more tags? Right now I'm recycling a few even though I shouldn't.

Hm, does the Great Chinese Empire need a new tag? Given that DH can handle both name and flag changes, it would seem that that the desired behaviour could be replicated without needing to use yet another tag.

The way I have China set up right now, UCH is the "Officially Recognized" central authority in China, all other factions have regular_id = UCH. Thus when Great Chinese Empire is formed, it is no longer "recognized". I will have a decision for all factions that allows it to form the "Officially Recognized" China (with different name) if it controls the mainland.

The main reason I want two more tags is for
# U74 133001118 Anhui Clique Rises (uses tag CYN).
# U74 133001119 Zhili Clique Rises (uses tag CGX).
Currently, the event chain is more or less hardcoded so that there shouldn't be a problem (unless you cheat of course to mess up the triggers), but latter on, I want it to be possible to Unify China as any faction. Anhui Clique was the most powerful clique around 1920 in China which surprisingly lost to the Zhili clique (a smaller faction) in battle, and of course the KMT came in and beat both weakened cliques afterwards. But if this did not happen, someone else would have unified China.

@ Burning: What event id is Independence Struggle and where is it located? I don't want the event firing for U74 (Great Chinese Empire).

I should have a version up by tomorrow that doesn't have tech teams/ministers/leaders/OOB but has complete events.

Edit: Can someone help figure out why the following event hardlocks (freezes the screen, no way to alt+tab out, have to ctrl+alt+delete)? I have a similar event that doesn't hardlock. I already filed a bug report, but I'd like to find a workaround to get this to work.
Code:
event = {
	id =  133001114
	random = no
	country = CGX

	#Triggered

	name = "The National Protection War"
	desc = "The people of Guangxi have called for us to join in the war to protect our nation from the traitorous Yuan Shikai. A National Protection coalition has been declared with communist and nationalists working together to restore the Republic."

	picture = "ccip_npw"
	style = 2

	action = {
		trigger = {
			exists = CHI
		}
		name = "Let us join the coalition (Game Over)."
			command = { type = secedearea which = CHI value = "Guangxi" when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1374 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1367 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1373 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1365 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1368 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1369 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1370 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1375 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1303 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1305 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1306 when = 2 }
		command = { type = secedeprovince which = CHI value = 1307 when = 2 }
	}

	action = {
		trigger = {
			not = {
				exists = CHI
			}
		}
		name = "Why join a failed movement?"
		command = { type = dissent value = 5 }
	}

}

Excellent!

Here is a list of Warlord Factions that I will implement. Feel free to help with any one of them. :)

--Forms the National Protection Alliance led by Cai E once Imperial China is formed
---Probably can add Shangdong, Jiangsu, Guizhou, Guangxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Hunan ministers (please state which province they are from so I can wake them once those provinces are taken if possible).
-Old Guangxi Clique (1914)
--Can form an early Nationalist China (if Sun Zhongshan is executed by Yuan Shikai)
---Early Nationalist China will have all southern province leaders (1914)
-Constitutional Protection Party - Led by Sun Zhongshan (1919)
---Combines Yunnan and Guangdong leaders.
-Old Guangxi Clique (splinter) (1919)
--Faction that fights Sun Zhongshan's Constitutional Protection Party

Well, Hindenburg still runs Germany in 1939, so I think there is a small issue.
