No problem, all these tiny HRE states are terrible xD

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...0/HRR_1400.png

It's in German, but as you can see, there are just too many states for the map

Yep, well there is no way i can have all of those countries (trust me i would add them if only i possibly could ), but yeah, i see that i made some mistakes, so ill correct those and improve the map as much as i can.

I suppose the only downside of breaking down Pommerania and Bavaria is that, when they are played by the AI, you remove potential opponents to Austria, Brandenburg and Bohemia. Otherwise it is certainly more interesting for the player to go through the unification process (together with the importance of historical accuracy).

About Liguria I am thinking about its current boundaries as an administrative region of Italy (you can easily find them on wikipedia). I don't know though if during the EU3 period they were different.

These are the bugs I found so far, but I don't really know if some of them are from Vanilla:
    - The "Fedal Taxation" modifier should say instead "Feudal Taxation."
    - Stab requirement to enact the Press Act is currently -3. I suppose it should be +3 or at least -2 since it causes you to lose 1 Stab.
    - "Marriage Proposal" event is bugged. I always got it with no country on the other side of the bargain: no country appeared when selecting the various options, just a blank space.
    - After I failed a Conquer Province Mission (basically the province I had to conquer shifted hands and the mission was aborted) I still retained the Conquest CB.
    - Something that's not too clear is that you get cores upon completion of Conquer Country Mission: it doesn't appear among the rewards in the mission tab.
    - From a balance perspective, Battlefield Commissions and Patron of the Arts are very strong compared to other NIs. However, by taking into accounts decisions and events, I might be wrong. I would suggest at least to reduce the Reinforce bonus of BC to 10% from 25%.

Some strange stuff I noticed in almost 150 years of game, but take it as a single test of course:
    - VERY strong protestant reformation.
    - Lots of PUs without "claiming the throne".
If you are interested I can provide more feedback on this subjects or we might leave them for later.

I can confirm the initial impression of a balanced and detailed mod, and the Ottomans are proving to be a very interesting opponent for Italy!

    -Fedal > Feudal fixed
-stab thingy fixed, it now requires +3 stab to enact
-ill look into that event: the problem is seems to be with EU3 engine in this instance, for some reason it does not show FROM properly, but to my knowledge it worked (you couldnt see with whom you made the deal but when you pressed "yes" you would get a triggered notice that RM formed with country X). Unless i can make it appear properly ill disable it completely i suppose (which is a pity because i liked that event template).
-im not 100% certain if that happened during a generic conquest mission, or during one of my missions. If its the latter, that could cause some problems. Ill need to test it, its good that you brought it up to my attention.
-like above, ill need to do some testing.
-as for BC, it now gives +2 yearly military tradition (grand army gives +10% reinforcements +25% army size), while patron of the arts gives diplomatic_skill = 1 and cultural_tradition = 0.04, which isnt really that much.

-Protestant reformation: it is supposed to be strong so working as intended. It should, however, not spread among Latins and Iberians.

-If i remember correctly i changed couple of numbers (compared to vanilla) which change the frequency of heir appearing. As a result, if you lose an heir (usually you get one immediately after new ruler comes to power) it sometimes takes quite some time to get a new heir. If you lose ruler (there are events that make that happen, even more in next version) and you fulfill some conditions, there is a chance you will become a junior partner in a PU, working as designed. If you prefer the vanilla flavor i can tell which file to change.

And yes, im always interested in more feedback, so please do share.

Im glad you like it so far, it will only get better and better (i hope) with time

Ah whata mistakea to makea (as a character from a popular comedy show would say).

Fixed, i *knew* there was something odd with Anatolia.

Speaking of which, do the borders there *feel* right? I cant help but see something wrong with them... The province shapes just dont seem ok. Do you maybe have some maps of the area, i used mainly English wiki stuff.

I've only just noticed, since you've adjusted the border between Belarus and Ukraine you'll have to rename Ovruch. It's Ukrainian city and you stuck it into Belarus. Rename the province and the capital to Mazyr and move the city icon further north so it will be on the same level, maybe a bit lover with Pinsk and Turov.

I see, I was worried about crashes so I just went with the third options which IIRC gives some nice bonuses as well. I think there is an event in Vanilla where you get a Royal Marriage and the target country is displayed, you might want to have a look at that.

I forgot to say it was a Conquer Corsica mission so it might be yours since I can't remember getting a conquer island mission in Vanilla.

Nice one, you managed to balance BC and make more interesting GA at the same time.
My opinion is that Patron of the Arts is a no-brainer for a player since it is the only way to get high level advisors. Because I don't like the idea of the player always picking the same NI, the bonus to CT could be reduced a bit imho. But it's just personal, I like the idea of NIs being useless sometimes and this is instead always useful.

What I have seen is several minors entering unions with stronger countries which is OK. It's an interesting idea to give the AI some proper sphere of influence, but maybe this event could be tweaked to fire less often. I saw a Sweden leading something like 5 PUs.

I'll post more comments after I have played some more and I have got some time ;-) Thanks for the quick reply anyway!

Well , geographically , Italy is too big and too south , Sicily should be in the same line as Peloponnese , Crete in the same line as Cyprus , the whole anatolia region should be straight and not in angle up

I just noticed Balikesir and Tokat (Turkish provinces) are in Asia while they should be in Europe since they are surrounded by provinces in Europe.
Also is the Boundary Dispute event supposed to give me an Infamy reduction of 1 if I refuse the core? Because I was sure my Infamy stayed the same after I went with that option.

Nice catch, both Turkish provinces are corrected, and ill go through the immediate area manually (ingame) to make sure i didnt misplace any other provinces.

Yes you are correct, refusing to press claim should indeed give you -1 badboy, and yes you are correct it did not work properly (despite displaying -1 in event window) because i used wrong scope (country scope for a province event). Important thing is, its now fixed and it will work properly

Thank you all for this feedback!

As a small preview ill give you a screenshot soon.

Edit: here's the current working version of the middle east and Timurland:

    Also added form Serbia decision.
2 new units for western tech (French Musketeer and Reformed Tercio).
Removed couple of military decisions that were too much based on English history and replaced them with more general stuff (still need to write proper descriptions ugh).
    Rebalanced economy (again).
    Fixed a number of events.
Added restrictions to most events for tribal countries. For the time being they will have a rather small number of available events, but i plan to write a whole bunch in the future (so no more western-ish events firing for tribals).
Testing some stuff like adding more tech groups.
Considering adding more units for steppe people.

    Etc, the usual.

Nice, I remember loading a game with Jalayrids and I got scared because they have something like 12% RR in their provinces, thanks to Timur's Horde and religious intolerance...
Speaking roughly, what did you re-balance about economy?

Yesterday I also noticed that if you refuse the new General in the Army Promotion Event, your Military Tradition won't go up as promised. But I was a bit tired so maybe I am wrong.
I am fairly certain instead that the Excommunicated Ruler CB doesn't give any Infamy reduction except for Vassalization. Is there something wrong with the description of the provinces which the CB applies to, maybe?

Talking about military decision, there is one which is horrible, Early Military Tradition I think, the one that gives you -0.5 RR and -1 Max WE in exchange for several negative modifiers. Since the other military decisions are pretty good, can something be done about this? Thanks!

Edit: sorry, just checked, the decision is actually Season Drilling System.

Most countries around Timmies that either interacted with them slightly before game start (for example Timmie invaded Delthi just couple of years before game start, and he devastated them so badly, that they didnt recover for years) or a few years after game start get the T. Horde thingy. Its a modifier that has time out date (i think around 10 years or so) and is meant to represent general chaos caused by Timurids. So you can see it as a necessary evil that will complicate your life at game start, but one that will go away after a while. At the same time its a tool i needed to balance some other stuff.

Ill have to check it, but im fairly certain general event is country scope, so the tradition should work (i think).

Indeed excommunication has different requirements over vanilla: if you want provincial BB reduction for annexing, the province in question has to be either your core or your culture group. Then on top of those two optional requirements (either one has to be true) any neighboring province has to be owned by you, be your core, be within your culture group and has your religion. Reasoning behind this is that you cant use excommunication to expand snake borderish, for example attacking a country thats culturally distant from you, and still get a BB reduction. In best case scenario, no matter the culture, if youre Catholic and neighbour to an excommunicated country, you can attack it and vassalize it for BB reduction. Annexing is a whole different thing.

    Ill look into Drilling thingy.

I like your ideas about hordes. Anyway in my game I think the Timurids disintegrated very quickly, I barely noticed them °° Golden Horde still kicking around but dying out in late XVI century.

As I said, it was a bit late so I'm probably wrong. Also, I had got that event several times without noticing anything strange. The only problem is that I usually check my Military Tradition only in times of war... Speaking of which, I have noticed the War College is a very powerful building. Does the AI build it? If only the player uses it, its bonus could be reduced a bit imho.

I agree with your modifications to the Excommunicated Ruler CB. The reduction to the Vassalization cost is pretty good anyway. Just sometimes the interface is a bit unclear about this kind of things. Also, to annex a 3 province country the BB cost was 30 IIRC, is this correct?
