Well, given that even the biggest specialists in these fields will only throw wild guesses at what could have happened under different circumstances, I'd say "plausibility" is at best a very vague concept regarding alternate history.
That said, I really do understand that some of you want it so bad, even if I make silly jokes about it. Have fun with Magna Mundi (I'll check it myself, despite not being a fan), and tell us afterwards!

Generally the entire idea about the debate is nations ending up where they never would be, even given the circumstances of EU3's sandbox gameplay.
As it has been said, there's only so much that can be done about it.

Okay a couple of things i've noticed while playing. First off Castille, Aragon and Portugal haven't been to war with each other even once in... 150 years, which seems kinda strange. Castille and Aragon are in an alliance, so that might be it, but still, Castille seems very passive.

Shouldn't the Army and Navy buildings give reduced building/training time? It doesn't make sense that it takes longer to build ships if you have a shipyard, it should reduce the time it takes to build them, not the other way around, and the same goes for regiments, if i have training fields it should take less time to build a new army then if i didn't have them.

When it comes to Castille/Aragon/Portugal I've seen different things in different games. In at least two Castille and Aragon weren't allied but didn't fight much, in one Aragon lost everything save the mainland, and in one Castille and France bit pieces off it repeatedly. Portugal is generally safe until Spain forms (Spain gets cores on Portugal, is that intended?). How nations behave varies from game.

On the subject of buildings, are the numbers green? Then this would indicate faster recruitment, it's just not stated in a very logical manner. (I'm asking since I modded the buildings so can't check out the standard MEIOU ones.)

The numbers are red not green, and it says +1% or +2% to recruitment or building time. And it does take longer when after i've build the buildings so they are adding not removing build time.

In the 6-7 games i've played so far the only ones i've seen attacking Aragon is France. But in my current game they don't exist because of some fairly bad wars vs England, Castille/Aragon/Portugal and me (Milan), So now the Anglo/French Union rules most of France. (which is pretty cool!)

In my game one or two provinces of Aragon have been munched up by Castille. Aragon has instead spread throughout the Mediterranean. They hold 2/3 of Sardinia, Sicily, two provinces in Greece, as well as one province in the Black Sea, near Trézibonde (which is held by Castille).

I think the idea is that they make far more people recruitable, but the bureaucracy and complexity of handling more people also slows recruitment down. Something like that.

Wait til you see megapoland like in one of my games, that was awesome (and felt historically plausible as well). Since Russia has so poor land, it's not such an unusual occurence.

Does anyone else think that the Manpower Balancing modifier doesn't do enough to restrict absurdly massive armies? Maybe we should have a Land Force Limit modifier instead?

It actually isn't, check the comments on the file. I fixed it for the rescripted file I made. Once again, anyone else who has a problem with the buildings at they are on release, check post #59 here, near the bottom of page 3 for a reviewed and edited version I made.

I like the changes you've made, and i think they should implementet as a temp fix for the buildings. I've read through them twice and they do seem better balanced, and the prices also make alot more sense.¨

And talking about prices, how about saying 50/100/150/200/400/800 or 50/100/150/200/600/1200 instead?

Would make big countries not able to build alot of lvl 5 and 6 buildings, but they would still be able to build lvl 1 to 4.

Found a bug: The Take control of the Church decision for the Papal States requires 2000 prestige.

    Hi,

I've been trying out v5.2 for a bit. I haven't tried, but I guess it's not save-game compatible with 5.1? I did have a great Lotharingia game going
The new building systems looks good to, but even better with the changes YF-23 made!

I have been playing about two decades with Switzerland, as I got annoyed with a few buggy missions as Austria, figuring the PU missions wouldn't come up as a republic. It's going fine so far, I've taken a few provinces from my neighbours (Austria, Milan, Burgundy). The latter two were fairly beaten from other wars, so I was a bit opportunistic, while Austria couldn't seem to reach me.
However, I keep getting an event (I dont recall the exact name, not at the computer where I play. I think it's something about my people demanding stuff...), where the choices are to pay a few ducats (30+) or get revolt risk in Zürichgau (my capital). This event pops up about every year... regardless which option I choose.

I don't think I'll continue this game though, I miss the diplomatic vassalizations and PU's And it seems there are not many decisions for Switzerland.

Have you actually played with them and found the higher level buildings easy to build?
I personally don't think that my prices are bad, but playing the game, I think several buildings get unlocked quite early (which makes the price hikes perhaps unreasonable given tech levels and efficiencies).

I'm pretty certain that precisely because of the building changes you will be unable to transfer a save and have it working properly. I haven't tried it myself to see just how much it breaks, but I can't see it working properly.

Just save the file in the /mod/meiou/common folder in your EU3 directory as buildings.txt and launch the game afterwards and that will be it.

Playing as England if I win the Hundred Years War and Dauphine forms everything will work properly until I save the game. After that point no matter what Dauphine's status was before the save, it becomes a "vassal of Dauphine" in the saved game and that breaks the game if you try to load from it.

Is there any way to make the yearly maintenance decision invisable and not cost anything or give a revolt risk? It gets to the point that it just feels like more spam popups and lots of people are going to continue to misunderstand its purpose.

Sadly I was unaware when I put this out that it insist to open in the browser. I will give you another link with the actual file:

You will get a .rar file. Use Winrar to get the "M - diplomatic.txt" file within, then copy it to your: meiou\missions folder. Overwrite the existing file there.

edit: corrected the earlier links in this thread.
