can the US even supply the majority of its fleet anymore just from Guantanamo? it seems to me that it would be fairly easy to land there and quickly annex them

Wow, a game in which the French do not surrender before 1941...they seem to be underpowered even in the 1.1 version but that might just be me :)

Good luck with the PSA!

Chapter XIV: Syndicalists of the Caribbean (1941)

In May 1941, the Combined Syndicates Navy conducted her first major operation – a four-carrier-raid into the Caribbean.

csa0089.jpg

Hours later, the USN conducted another attack on the Syndicalist task force.

csa0090.jpg

csa0091.jpg

Eventually, Puerto Rico was liberated.

csa0092.jpg

In June, the CSN provided proof that carriers are also effective against Battleships.

csa0093.jpg

Unfortunately, in July, the first major setback occurred:

csa0094.jpg

While the exchange of 2 Syndicalist transport flotillas against one USN aircraft carrier, one USN Battleship and several smaller units looked fine, the CSA lost 2/3 of it’s naval invasion capacity. With only one transport flotilla left, the plans to liberate the Caribbean had to be delayed.

In the following moths, the CSN wreaked havoc among the US merchant fleet in the Caribbean.

Eventually, in November 1941, a first attempt to invade Guantanamo Bay was started.

csa0095.jpg

By December 24th, a second attempt was successful – the US government fled to the Panama Channel one.

csa0096.jpg

At the end of 1941, the bandits on the continent were suppressed successfully.

csa0097.jpg

In Europe, the Commune of France had liberated Flanders and made a small progress into German territory.

csa0098.jpg

@SovietAmerica:
Yes, the French are doing well without help from the CSA....I was hoping for a D-Day in the late 40s with the CSA invading Normandy, but this is not going to happen.

@Duke of Awesome:
The United States also controls Hawaii, I guess that a large part of the USN is in Pearl Harbor - outside of the range of the lethal CSN carriers.

@Timmie0307:
Do not forget that the Commune of France was at war relatively early (When syndicalist Italy invaded Monarchist Italy) - all that time with the war bonus (low consumer goods requirements) might have helped them building up a good military. On the other hand, in games where Germany is allied with China and at war with Japan during the late 30s...well....then you have a powered up Germany vs. a peacetime France.

Wat, a liberated Flanders and no events for the carrion states to pick away US territory?

Chapter XV: The end of the USA (1942)

On January 18th, La Plata declared war on Brazil.
On the same day, the CSA declared war on the United Provinces. As a direct invasion on the Panama Channel Zone was not practicable, the United Provinces would be liberated and used as a base for the liberation of the Channel Zone.

Meanwhile, the Commune of France advanced into Germany. On May 20th, Austria and the Ottoman Empire joined the war on Germany’s side.

csa0099.jpg

On August 5th, the United Provinces and the Channel Zone were secured. The war took much longer as expected – reason was a shortage of modern, regular infantry. The US government fled to Hawaii.

csa0100.jpg

As the distance from Managua to Hawaii was too far for the CSN, the next target were the Pacific States of America.

csa0101.jpg

By early October, San Diego was captured. And in late October, the CSN – operating from San Diego – made it to the Hawaiian islands.

csa0102.jpg

At the end of 1942, the PSA hold San Francisco, an area around Washington and Alaska.

csa0103.jpg

csa0104.jpg

In Europe, the Commune of France was advancing deep into the German Empire.

csa0105.jpg

South America was the only place where Syndicalism struggled…with La Plata making progress against (Syndicalist) Brazil.

csa0106.jpg

I feel so sorry for Brazil. Syndicalism is winning everywhere in the world except for them.

Chapter XVI: The end of the 2nd American Civil War

On February 10th, 1943, Seattle was liberated by CSA troops – the PSA capitulated immediately.

csa0107.jpg

csa0108.jpg

After all Militias were dissolved, the CSA Army was a garrison heavy force. Time was needed before it would be strong enough to liberate New England from the iron fist of the Entente.

csa0109.jpg

In addition the modern units of the CSN, capturing the United States bought parts of the US Navy home to America:
Battleships Pennsylvania and California; Heavy cruisers Salt Lake City, Indianapolis and Chicago; The light cruiser Detroit, a destroyer division, 8 submarine divisions and 18 transport ships divisions.

csa0110.jpg

Battleship Pennsylvania

A massive modernization project was started:
Hull improvements, Fire Direction Systems, Improved AA batteries, Radar and seaplanes for the two Battleships.
Hull Improvements, Fire Direction Systems and Seaplanes for the three heavy cruisers.
Hull improvements and Fire Direction Systems for the Detroit
ASW systems for the destroyer squadron
Hull improvements and advanced torpedoes for the captured submarines.

The territories of what was once the United States where reintegrated and the political direction of Totalism was enforced.

csa0111.jpg

Due to various political reforms, the reintegration of lost territories and other concerns, there was some unrest within the American population.

csa0112.jpg

On March 30th, 1943, the Commune of France annexed Austria.

csa0113.jpg

A few days later, Syndicalist Spain DOWed Portugal, while the Commune of France created a free, Syndicalist Austria.

Shortly after the Commune of France annexed the Kingdom of Bohemia, it invited the CSA to join the internationale. But at this point, it was too early….the CSA first had to fully establish her internal situation and to build up a stronger, professional land force before this step could be done.

csa0114.jpg

Meanwhile, Syndicalist Spain annexed Portugal and Poland went after upper Slesia.

On June 14th, the German Empire collapsed – the Government fled to Saigon.

csa0115.jpg

Eventually, a German Union came into existence as a member of the Internationale.

csa0116.jpg

Meanwhile, the south of the CSA was terrorized by bandits.

csa0117.jpg

On July 17th, 1943, Japan DOWed what was left of the German Empire.

On September 1st, the Commune of France annexed Hungary (two week later, it would be released as another member of the Internationale)

csa0118.jpg

Bosnia followed one day later.

csa0119.jpg

By the end of 1943, the unrest was under control and a massive build-up program was underway in order to have a large, modern land army by 1945.

csa0120.jpg

@Milites:
I am not sure if Flanders was liberated by event

@SovietAmerika:
Well....maybe after the fall of the Entente, there will be an expedition to South America to correct this? ;)

Wow. I have never seen the French win. And am also not sure what you will do now.

wow. I have never seen the french win. And am also not sure what you will do now.

exactly what i was going to say! !!

Interesting whenever I see the French winning, they always split Germany in several states, first time I see them releasing them as a single nation

Any chance you can clean up Europe? Not all of those borders are clean and pleasant looking.

Chapter XVII: Preparing the next war (January 1st, 1944 to May 14th, 1945)

In March 1944, the Commune of France annexed Denmark. The Ukraine followed in May.
In Africa, the British Union annexed Liberia and, eventually, Nationalist France.
On October 3rd 1944, La Plata annexed Brazil – a severe setback for Syndicalism.

On May 14th, 1945, a task force transporting 4 Infantry Divisions set sail to Guantanamo bay. Amassing these troops in peacetime would have been a sure indicator that an invasion of Cuba is imminent.

csa0121.jpg

In the Pacific, the Hawaii island chain was garrisoned – everything else was regarded as expendable.

csa0122.jpg

In Alaska, 9 Infantry Divisions were ready to storm eastwards. In addition to this, a small garrison guarded Anchorage to prevent an Entente naval invasion.

csa0123.jpg

The west front:

csa0124.jpg

csa0125.jpg

The east front:

csa0126.jpg

The most valuable naval asset – the 12 CSN aircraft carriers – had been concentrated in 3 task forces, each equipped with four carriers. These were located in Seattle, Miami and New York.

Then, in the morning hours of May 15th, an announcement was made….

csa0127.jpg

@Faeelin & Davisx3m:
Problem is that the Internationale won't accept me as a member. For the time being, I will go against the Entente and try to grab as much as I can.

@Soulstrider:
I have to confess...I am not that experienced regarding Kaiserreich. Actually, it is the first time that I see France defeating Germany.

@SovietAmerika:
Interesting thought. The CSA (totalist) against the Internationale (Socialist).
Hmmm......
Or maybe going after everyone else, after that a cold war between the two surviving ideologies (Totalist and Socialist)? :rofl:

Chapter XVIII: The fall of Canada (May 15th, 1945 – July 15th, 1945)

The first reports from the first hours of the war looked better than expected:

csa0128.jpg

After a little more than 6 weeks later, a CSA Invasion force captured Georgetown, triggering the capitulation of the Carribbean Federation.

csa0129.jpg

On Cuba, the CSA forces were slowly progressing.

csa0130.jpg

On the eastern front, Canada’s government had to flee to Halifax.

csa0131.jpg

While in the west, it would take some time before the Alaskan and Western fronts would unite.

csa0132.jpg

Eventually, the Carribbean Federation was released as a free, totalist state.

On July 11th, Edward VIII fled to Delhi.

Four days later, after 2 months of fighting, Canada surrendered.

csa0133.jpg

Chapter XIX: Consolidation and the advance into the Southwest Pacific (July 16th, 1945 – January 13th, 1946)

At home, troops had to be reorganized in order to change the mission form conquering to insurgency control – lots of Garrison troops were moved north, lots of regular troops to the harbors in the South so that they could be used for oversea deployments.
Attempts to join the Internationale were blocked by the Commune of France – they did not forget that the CSA refused to join back in 1943.

Cuba was annexed and released as another totalist nation.

A limited modernization program was launched.

And the advance into the south was prepared. Using wake island,

csa0134.jpg

Battle of the Coral Sea – the Japanese had also been present as they are still at war with the remains of the German Empire

On October 23rd, Port Moresby was taken by the CSA – it would be the base for the liberation of the Australasian Confederation.

On November 28th, Auckland was taken.

csa0135.jpg

On January 13th, 1946, New Zealand was liberated.

Chapter XX: Australia and the start of the southern crusade (January 13th, 1946 – October 4th, 1947)

On January 28th, 1946, war was declared on Colombia. Ecuador honored their alliance and joined the war on the side of Colombia.

csa0136.jpg

This war would be the start of the “Southern Crusade” to install totalist regimes friendly to the CSA.

On May 30th, after several failed attempts, the first bridgehead was established in Australia.

csa0137.jpg

After liberating the United Provinces and annexing Colombia and Ecuador, the next target was Venezuela.

csa0138.jpg

After the fall of Venezuela, La Plata was DOWed. At last, Brazil would be liberated. Chile honored their alliance with La Plata and joined the war.

csa0139.jpg

The front at Northern La Plata became a static WWI-era-like trench line. To resolve this, a new weapon was used:

csa0140.jpg

By mid May, large parts of the forces of La Plata were cut off in the northern part of Brazil after the CSA landed at Sao Luis and advanced to the west until they reached the border of Bolivia.

csa0141.jpg

On October 4th, the Australasian Confederation capitulated. Unfortunately, the Union of Britain had captured Brisbane – but it was still possible to liberate the Australasian Confederation as another free Nation.

csa0142.jpg

Meanwhile, in Africa, the German Union annexed South Africa.

Regarding the naval buildup, 4 advanced carriers were launched – they are scheduled to be available by November 1949, bringing the number of CSN carriers to 16.

You ... nuked a city in La Plata that belonged to Brazil?

Wow, Reed REALLY wanted to win.

@SovietAmerika:
Minor losses for the world revolution. The people of La Plata and of Brazil are both suppressed. They will both be liberated and enjoy the totalist worker's paradise. :rolleyes:
