Good, it solved all bugs, great job BattleGoat.

Maybe i can offer you two features.

    1. If you can build structures in colonies, it will be good allow player scrap building in colonies too.

    2. If player start with China or USSR, current state is ok, but if player start with other nation N. Korea and N. Vietnam are doomed in a few days. Maybe if China can be their ally, it will be balanced and in historical aspect it isnt nothing wrong with it.

I bought the game on Steam, if I disable "Automatically keep the game up to date" should this patch be safe to apply to the game directory? Thanks

Yeah, N. Vietnam are pretty doomed now... Played a N. Vietnam game yesterday evening just after getting the new update. I successfully allied with China and the USSR, also got a good bunch of Ind. goods from the USSR for a good bunch of electricity I somehow had. I used it to build Ind. good factories and Fabrication buildings, but the French (and later Americans) stormed at me so hard and took my capital so many times I really had not chance (they also robbed me when capturing the capital, stealing my money and resources). And all that time the Soviets and Chinease didn't move a finger for me. And the Chinease had troops at my border!

    Probably not. It's steam.

Great to hear, will this update fix issues with games created prior to it?

I have a no units mexico game that I created in 7.0.71 that is crashing, should it now work with this? Or will I have to create a new game?

Edit: ignore above, tried it and it works perfectly. GJ guys.

Our studio bought SRCW on Steam to test it all out, from a customer perspective. I directly downloaded and ran the update and then launched the game within the steam console. As Smothmoth said below your post, it does seem to work well.

Yes, HMS Warspite, the fixes we made within the update were able to overcome the problems found in savegames, so players can continue playing.

To also relate my experience with the Steam client, regarding turning off a game's updates, I'll say that it's hit & miss.

It'll work for a brief period of time before it'll turn off your setting and update it anyway. This generally happens when you turn off Steam & reload it, or when Steam updates itself which is about one to two weeks, sometimes a couple days, in between. So you'll probably have to keep applying beta patches and any mods somewhat regularly.

It's been complained about repeatedly but Steam doesn't seem to care about fixing such bugs. I've also had the same issues with other, similar, ones such as turning off the cloud saving.

Will BG push any updates through Steam at all? I am in the process of applying the update since the devs said it worked. If all patching is manual, and not via Steam, then there shouldn't be any issues in the future. Devs, are you going to mess with using Steam's push updating?

We are still improving our Steam integration and support, unknown at this time how it will change.

Or more specifically we do plan on pushing the update through steam, but this is a more complicated process and involves a few middlemen (Steam and Paradox) and so it can't be done as quickly. So until then you can install using the direct-link... though as noted above, Steam may revert when it feels like.

Why did the newest update get rid of the german panzer V ausf b panther tank. I liked that tank and it played a major role in WWII for the germans. I cant even research it.

The balance for that unit was way off and it was out of service by 1950. As you indicated, it is a WWII unit.
