Another mix of good and pathetically bad moves from the AI. I hope that the devs will make it more aware of threats of encirclements. The fact that its units are retreating towards the coastline instead of withdrawing inland is a joke - even HOI3 AI is usually smart enough to withdraw troops from death traps. If the Chinese AI keeps losing units that way, then they will never be a big challenge for a human player. And come on, is prioritising the capital really that hard? I don't think I'm asking for too much, as such mistakes are simply childish.

However, the way the AI is counter-attacking you is quite impressive. It tries to find a weak spot and attacks when you don't have enough troops in a given region, so that you are either forced to stop your offensives or lose some provinces. The way the AI is threatening Changzhou and Jinan is also impressive, even if a little risky (but no risk = no gain).

You desperately need some fast units, like cav, to do the old "rout, the arrive in the province before the retreating army does" trick.

I have to rely on my good old 6 cavalry divisions:) I don't have enough resources to build motorized divisions yet. Also, I don't want to build cavalry forces anymore. They make my army look like medieval samurai army:)

Well guys, Chinese are spamming militia like hell. After they had Forging the Unified Front event, they had 187 divisions in total. At this point I had only 39 divisions.

After my massacres at Beijing, Qingdao and Nantong, Chinese now has 186 divisions. At this point, I have 63 divisions (12 of them are garrisons ).

It's like fighting an ant colony with a pair of chopsticks :D

Now that the pocket is eliminated, I think it should be tons easier - though still very difficult - to defeat the Chinese army with several more divisions freed up from the coast fighting.

Not bad. With 550+ MP, you have plenty of wiggle room. Germany is becoming powerful with their 293 Effective IC and it's still before annexation of Czechoslovakia and conquest of Poland.

I don't know how important Vladivostok is in DH and how flexible the Soviet AI is, but if you conquer China before Barbarossa (which is very likely), then you should consider aiding the Germans in their conquest of the Soviet Union.

Haha, thank God! I thought the AAR went dead D:

Anyway, good advances in China so far. And to what Cybvep suggested, I agree. If China is annexed before Barbarossa is initiated, you could very easily assist the Germans by taking Siberia and pushing in from the east. If you commit enough troops, the Russians will have to spread their deployed divisions very thin and I doubt they would be able to halt both the German advance and yours.

After the Transfer events, Vladivostok becomes the single most industrialized province with 40 IC or so

Fuyang has been captured. General Shima immediately attacked Xinjang.

While Battle of Fujang continues, Imperial government delivered peace proposal to Kuomintang Headquarters in Chongqing. PM Senjuro believes that occupation of Chinese capital and most of Eastern China will force Premir Chiang to accept Japanese terms.

Following terms are transmitted to Kuomintang government :

1) China will enter Greater East Asia Co-Properity Sphere
2) Friendly Chinese government will be formed with pro-Japanese leaders being given prominent positions.
3) China will join Japan in combating communism.
4) Japan will have rights to station troops in China and to protect it against Western Powers.

kiX68.jpg

Premier Chiang refused our peace proposal and said that he is determined to fight until all Japanese invaders are thrown out of China. The refusal of the proposal discredited PM Senjuro in the eyes of military

NBLfH.jpg

In the Imperial Conference held just after peace proposal, General Higashikuni, the commander in chief of China Expeditonary Army, persuaded Prime Minister and Emperor to solve the Chinese question by brute force and the destruction of entire Kuomintang forces.

We launched offensive to recapture Anyang. Our medium bombers are also supporting the attack.

Second Battle of Wenzhou has begun. This time General Hata is attacking with larger force. Aim is to isolate Chinese Army in mountanious Ningbo region.
