    Repairing should be soul gem based

    As I've stated in this post (http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/...mage-equipment), repairing is something every PvPer must do.

    Fighting Tryryon i.e. with tanks wearing uncharmed bucklers (vill/warlord/outlaw) would result in a slaughter. That is because - besides Tryryon beign and excelent PvPer - the equipment that he uses i highly charmed, ultimate/rare gear - and this is a VERY important factor in PvP. And since an items durability is 20 (15-20 matches), you can't charm items you know you are going to throw away. Repairing is then a NECESITY, something that makes the whole PvP sistem possible. I've goten tired of reading, and reading why PvP is decaying, why there's nobody in DG, why every person gives up in PvPing - here you have the answer.

    I would like to know if this is something supported by the comunity, why it is tribute based - something I've only seen here -, why it is NOT soul gem based... and I would also like to know why the daily tribute used to be 10.

    (PS: Incomplete Idea - having an exam in 6 hours, and still need to study/sleep 5 hours at least - will be developing more and answering all questions later )

    i can tell you that'll never happen. repairs are tribute and tribute only, thats all the games engine accounts for. if you are using uncharmed items you should be finding plenty from pve and if not go try the market, i'll happily sell you my spares

    Though I understand it, I'm not happy about that. Still, I have 400 tribute to repair my gear, so this ain't such a big problem to me - but it is for newer players, and people that don't PvP because of repairs. Just my opinion. Besides, it would be a nice implementation that wouldn't affect Paradox's interest's that much - perhaps they'll loose $2 a month from those players that only use tribute for repairing :S.
    It could also add a wider variety to in-game items. Let's say you have Warlord and Villain stuff. We all know Villain stuff is harder to dissable, so making Warlord cheaper to repair would level the balance and add more excitement about in-game choices:
    In other words:
    Warlord ->Cheaper to repair
    Villain ->Harder to dissable
    To have wider choices in-game, it would be a nice idea - I have the feeling the game is too "mechanic", too estructured in some aspects, such as gear selection

    By the way, would you be happy if repairing was free? Just curious

    PS: I would like to know if someone could explain me why repairing sistem is so different from those in other games...

    I dont think that newer players would be hit by this that badly. The only gear that matters is charmed gear and rare items. New players rarely have those, so they could replace their gear easily from what they drop. The need to repair starts in 2nd half of era.

    In other games, the value of new items is way higher. Here you get enough equipment for free

    this idea could work.. but I have to agree with AMFS here.. not in this game.

    For me solution comes in other ways...like PvP wins = tribute. Simple as that. you win you get rewarded in a way that allows you to pay your gear and effort. bla bla they could start exploit that. But that is against the rules? people would be risking getting banned, and they could already do that exploit for trophys already.

    A simple problem with that though Klaaj, is that then there would have to be a way for PvE-ers to gain tribute other than the daily tribute, if PvPers get tribute from winning matches, than PvE-ers should get tribute from winning a mission? That would certainly result in more PvE...but would be abused badly.

    Though, perhaps if for PvE-ers, everytime a nedom wolven is killed 5 tribute is earned? Dunno, but yes it would make lots more people PvP if tribute is a reward (2 tribute won for island match, 5 for DG.)

    Yes wise reply.. I forgot about PvE/PvP balance. And in PvE it wouldnt work as good ofc..

    I got an idea.. you guys are thinking in making the nedons shards for DL gear... why dont add the ability to Convert Nedon Shards to tribute? That would sound more fair.. And add the PvP reward on wining = 5tribute.

    Yes, that could work too. Again, that's the only problem I have when pvping - repairing

    And also, I know that in other games the value for the items it's higher - but free gear can be repaired for game currency. After all, it's kinda strange to have to pay to repair free items :S

    repairing of a free item.... heh... reminds me of my wings i got... they do nothing... but cost 1k trib to repair.... but thats another issue....

    i think the main way of fixing gear within a game is to have vouchers for 1 durability regained... these vouchers drop though any type of match(pvp) or mission(pve) you play, and can even get more then 1 in a match or mission, and these will not be era persistent, or should not be... as they can be really op'ed if kept from era to era and be able to trade or sell, now they only way i can think of the vouchers to work is through the crafting in the patria, and some vouchers may even remove soul-binding of an item(which will be rare, and require the item to be fully repaired before use).... random idea... idk if un-soul-binding is really needed... tho may be good for an item that is needed for a quest.... or to get some really good SG/SP by EOE

    this way, imo, may be a really good way to have pve and pvp working together... trib for repairs will be still be there for those ppl too much in a hurry to repair their equipment, and repair for anything that costs trib(like DL gear) would have 65% of cost to do a full repair

    idk... just an idea... alot of coding needed to be added in to make this work and work right... so if this does come to be, it may be some eras later... (here's hoping)
    I'm about the content, new content is always good, stay with the same stuff for years I might not stay around
    But Dreamlords is one of the exceptions, I've been playing since August 2008, even tho it repeats from time to time...
    i find myself playing it mostly all day, and now being a Mod makes it even harder to leave
