What exactly do I have to do to successfully perform a coup? I keep getting the "Opposition party too strong" tooltip. The Communist party is at 55% in Cuba and I still cant coup! The communists will win the election in 1940 anyway, but I want Cuba now for a later "Bay of Pigs" scenario.

who are you playing? you cant do a coup against a country of the same ideology group as you?

I'm having the same problem playing the Soviet Union got 55 organization in both Mexico and Portugal more popularity then the ruling party (around 35 for me and 30 for them) and no way to stage a coup.

As Germany I have created large Party groups in Norway, Sweeden and Czech, but never was able to get anywhere with it. It seems that the idea is that as your support increases you may gain cabinet seats, and that with a certain number of ministers you can attempt a coup, but when I look at the tool tip for any party in any country it always says something like "provides 0 ministers". Does an election have to occur? When should we see minsiters of our Party type? With 55% popularity I would expect some, but no, I still have zero.

and here I was hoping to get the USA fascist before WWII kicks in and then change to play them. damn...

Each party needs 60 popularity and 60 organization?! Really??? Numerous coups have occurred when a favored party is in power and then are overthrown. I'd understand more 60 popularity OR 60 organization maybe even so. I understand they're supposed to be rare but still.

Has anyone been able to perform a coup at all??

Only seen it pre-FTM, but i made it in Mexico when playing, so only managed to coup my own country.
It was uber-high dissent which triggered it. I have never seen a coup in any AI countries though.

Oh, and King says in the video posted above that coups in FTM has the prerequisites of having the target country a fractured government, and have spies in play at the country, and that chances of success are based on your ideology in that country vs. the government ideology in that country, and number of spies.

Oh I didn't think they even existed before. >.> Whoops. Well shouldn't they be fixed. Wouldn't be more likely an internal coup to occur then an external one? Maybe. Maybe not? But its something to think about.

But I see this "Attempt a coup. This will remove all your spies from COUNTRY"

But it'll never let me click it?
