When there is a rebellion, many of the brigades that pop up disperse without any provocation from me, and the number ranges from just a few to an entire rebellion dispersing after a couple days. Any idea why this happens?

Promotion/Demotion factors. What does the percentage means? How does this percentage is related to the actual number of people promoting/demoting to another class?

They are the relative chances of those promotions. e.g. if you have 3.5% to clergy, 1.0% to craftsmen, 1.5% to bureaucrats then on average 7 months in the year the POP promotes to clergy, 2 to craftsmen and the other 3 to bureaucrats.

The actual numbers are set by different factors which aren't visible in the game (but you can find them in the text files: literacy, CON, unemployment are the most important)

how do I even see the Promotion/Demotion factor percentages? I don't see anything like that on the POP screen. Is that the optimal percentage number that pops up when you hover over certain stats? I was positive that just meant the overall percentage of the population

Thanks, but I was not referring to these. I was referring to the ones that appear when you mouse over the number of promoted/demoted people. For example, in my game it says promotion factor: 48% but only one of my 1500 craftsmen promote to clerk/bureaucrat/clergy/etc. every month.

I've noticed that to become a great power you need at least 2 regions. Where can i change that ? Say to 5 regions.
Having had a quick look round to see if anything in the game files looks relevant: You can't; it's hard-coded into the executable.

Is there any way\mod to allow socialist build railroads? This is just ridiculous, socialist come to power in mid-late game anyway, when, frankly, nobody really cares about money that much. But it's just insane: build railroads manually all through the entire Empire + colonies takes too much time. I always wanted some kind of communistic Empire, but this is the only reason I hold the reds from power.

How can I turn a HM's government into a democarcy (other than revolting)? I have developed all the reforms on the political side...
You can't dispose of your monarchy without a revolution, which is actually perfectly reasonable. I'm not aware of any significant wholly peaceful and voluntary abdications in the period 1836-1936.

if your a secndery power u gain an event that makes u go to war against that GP, u will probably lose though. oh and u need to have less than 0 relationship with them, if u get 200 that means 8 diplomatic points whats realy anoying is the waiting time between spending them

Q: If I'm trying to blockade France, do I need to blockade every single province they have or only their 'home' provinces, as in, France itself or do I need to go out and blockade every one of their colonies to make them suffer?

I hadn't seen those mouse overs before. It looks like that 48% is a fraction of the standard promotion rate. (I'd say maximum, but demotion rates go over 100%). The rest of that mouse over is giving what I had only seen in the text files and your promotion rate is proportional to those factors. Look at some larger POPs and you should get a better idea of exactly what it is.
