Hi guys,

I started this game just today and opted for my favourite country, Switzerland, hoping to be able to annex later some close regions like aosta or baden... Problem is that after 2 years of industrialisation, and without being agressive in any way, Piedmont declares war, followed by France. No way to resist, I have to accept losing eastern Switzerland.

Is that a normal behaviour of the game, Piedmont attacks Switzerland so early?

Check your relations with them. If they're negative, they get a higher chance of getting a random "Acquire State CB" against you. So try to constantly increase relations and ally a GP to keep yourself safe. Sadly there's no such thing as Swiss Neutrality in vanilla.

Why is there no immigration to Asia? There should especially be immigration to Australia and New Zealand.

Vanilla 1.3

Some inventions give "Permanent Prestige +1%" - what exactly does that mean? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the prestige tool-tip, nor in the country modifiers in the Diplomatic overview?

Edit: Upon further inspection it is not "Permanent Prestige +1%", but "Permanent Prestige +1". Still, what's the permancy about?

How do you make a province you own a core province?

Playing as Dai Nam (I managed to civilize it), I took Brunei a long time ago, and its a state province with the majority culture as Vietnamese, but Its not considered a core province. Yet other places around me (British and Dutch) managed to get their acquisitions as core provinces.

Ahh, a fellow Dai Nam player! Anyway, whether it's a state or colony, there's an event that can fire once you've discovered a tech (I think Nationalism & Imperialism, it's in that chain) that gives you a core. It's random, so no guarantees how long it will take.

"Permanent Prestige +1" simply gives you +1 prestige. "Permanent Prestige +1%" is a modifier applied to all positive prestige gains after that, be it from events/techs or military action.

Yup, thats the one

Hi, mu dudes, i have a question here. In my most recent game Hanover fired an event that was called March on Hanover or something that immediately changed it's government to fascist. What sort of event is that? I've played a lot of games but it is the first time i've ever seen it and i can't find it anywhere.

I think the one you are after is 17630. Its in events/socialism_fascism.txt

How does one tag switch without having to save, resign, load as the other country, meddle, save, resign, load back up as yourself?

The way it's talked about on here implies there's a cheat code for it, and as much as I avoid cheating in general, I'm not averse to a little bit of meddling.

just open the console by pressing ~, the button above left tab, then type tag XXX, where XXX is the country tag that you want to switch to.

Thanks, figured it'd be something simple. :)

Ah, that explains the wierd Prestige gains like 5.77 for doing something or other. Thanks!
