Are there any otherwise harmless events I can fire that serve the purpose of increasing militancy and, if so, what are their event IDs?

It's in a way amazing how he could've reached that much XD
Actually it was very easy. Prussia had an revolution, so that I was able to conquer Hesse-Darmstadt, Frankurt and Nassau. After I could recruit more than 1 brigade everything became pretty fast, Baden, Hannover and Saxony were quiet easy :p

Literacy

1. Does free press only increase consciousness? Not literacy?
2. Is it true that the education slider does not directly increase literacy (it regulates clergy income and promotion/demotion)?
3. Clerks, plurality, consciousness and democracy has no direct effect on literacy, right?
4. If I cause massive unemployment and grief in a densely populated high literacy state (either non accepted culture or partly assimilated), are a few thousand people likely to move to my other states (or will they all go to the US)?
5. Are there any other ways of increasing literacy without (permanent) conquest for a european nation than having 4% clergy in all states and research all literacy boosting techs early? Unfortunately, getting rid of illiterate states or POPs is not an option for me.

1. Correct -- Literacy's effect on CON is changed, not the other way around.
2. Not sure. It might affect educational efficiency; since that variable is normally hidden, I can't say for certain.
3. None of them affect literacy, this is true; however, Clerks and Plurality do affect Research Points.
4. No idea; I would just bet they'd probably emigrate, though. I've heard internal migration doesn't work right.
5. Not really. Literacy is supposed to increase slowly over time. Researching the educational efficiency techs is the way to go there. You could also promote political and social reform; that will increase immigration to your country, and if I remember correctly, literate folks are the most likely to emigrate from a country.

I have looked everywhere and can't find this information.

1. What are the reforms to go from Absolute Monarchy to Presidential Dictatorship?
2. What are the reforms to go from Presidential Dictatorship to HMS Government?
3. What reforms get you from HMS Government to Democracy?

1. To my knowledge, there aren't any that allow this directly. (Maybe an Anarcho-Liberal rebellion? I'm not sure.)
2. A reactionary rebellion, a Crown from the Gutter (Pan-Nationalist in a country in your culture group), and certain other special events for some countries can make this transition happen.
3. A Jacobin Rebellion.

1- Monarchies remain monarchies except in the case of revolution. Reactionaries vs. Absolute Monarchy leads to Pres. Dictatorship with Reactionary party. Reactionaries vs. any other kind of Monarchy leads to Absolute Monarchy. All other rebel types lead to their respective types (Anarcho-Liberal = Bourgeois Dictatorship, Communist = Proletarian Dict., Jacobin = Democracy, Fascist = Fascist Dict.) If you are a monarchy, the only peaceful changes you can make are between Absolute (No elections), Prussian (some type of election for Lower House), and HMS (Prussian=HMS when political parties is Secret or Non-Secret ballots). Also Jacobins vs. Absolute Monarchy leads to HMS, not democracy.

2- Once a Monarchy is lost it is highly unlikely to be able to regain it. Reactionary rebels in a Presidential Dictatorship (highly unlikely as most Pres. Dict.'s are Reactionary already) will lead to Absolute Monarchy.

3- There aren't any, see answer #1.

To double-check what rebels create which governments, check out victoria2/common/rebel_types.txt, this shows it all under each type of rebel.

i have one question: on the invention of expassionism under the nationism and imperialism tech, how do you find out how close you are to the 120 badboy you need to get the boost?

a) Click your country badge to the top left, diplomacy interface will open with your country stats.
b) In the right section there find the teared flag symbol, the number next to it is your badboy score .... its called Infamy actually.

Badboy limit is 25, so the required score 125 to increase the invention chance is quite problematic to achieve.

Probably a silly question but...

I take the UK is supposed to get a major event, the coronation of Queen Victoria, which unpuppets Hannover and releases it from the UK sphere. It's 1855 and it still hasn't fired. At least I haven't noticed, but it seems to be the case, since Hannover is still puppet and sphereling of the UK. Can this actually happen?

Hi, I have another question:

After I've conquered Alsace-Lorraine as the North German Conferderation and forming the German Empire France keeps attacking me. After I destroyed their armies and occupied Paris they accept a White Peace, but after a few months they declare war again, even without having armies near my border...

It should have fired in 1838. Is Hanover no longer in your sphere? That seems to be the only restriction. Here's the code for it:

Code:
country_event = {
	id = 36898
	title = "EVTNAME36898"
	desc = "EVTDESC36898"
#	picture = "queenvictoria"

	trigger = {
		tag = ENG
		year = 1838
		OR = {
			government = absolute_monarchy
			government = prussian_constitutionalism
			government = hms_government
		}
		is_sphere_leader_of = HAN
	}

	major = yes
	fire_only_once = yes

	mean_time_to_happen = {
		months = 6
	}

	option = {
		name = "EVTOPTA36898"
		release_vassal = HAN
		diplomatic_influence = {
			who = HAN
			value = -200
		}
		prestige = 5
	}
}

That might be it. Prussia seems to have stolen them from the UK sphere before the event fired or something... it's 1870 and Hannover is still a UK puppet... that's odd.

just have to wait for socialists?

You can wait for the socialists. You can also try to get >50% Liberal UH, and if you make enough people angry (raise militancy), I think the conservatives will support you.

What's the question?

How can I liberalise the Upper House as America?

If people are wanting a reform, don't grant them it. This will cause them to vote liberal parties.

My armies are vastly undersupplied, although the military expense is high. How can I deliver them their ammunition and supplies? (i'm a newbie)

Check your national stockpile slider. Make sure it is 100%, providing you can afford it.

are there any immigration boosting techs? Also what are the techs that hugely reduce rgo size?

Political and social reforms will boost immigration, as will being a democracy.

I can't remember the techs that reduce RGO size off the top of my head - hover over the techs in the Commercial and Industrial tabs.

Is there a way to influence a country economy or just any other score boost. I am playing as Prussia, i need to influence Sardinia-Pidemont or Netherlands, because they are closest to Austria score wise. I heave beat up Austria twice (once at beginning and other something at 1845 something. I am so close to forming greater germany and i dont want to go to war with him again, because i cant influence for 5 years or so and he might recover before that.
Oh and i need 10 points something. There is a chance it they might pass themselves, but i got no idea if they pull it off or not.
Edit: I am playing PDM mod if that is any help?
