Having 2% nationwide provides the most research points which clergy can provide, but research points (and other things) are also effected by literacy, for which the prime number of clergy (fastest literacy gain) is at 4% per province.
Bureaucrats have ideal efficiency at 1% per state (state admin.) and nationwide (admin. efficiency), non-colonial. State administration provides crime-fighting and National Focus efficiency, national admin. efficiency provides tariff and tax efficiency (slider vs. actual). That 1% rises when you institute social reforms such as healthcare.

Does National Admin efficiency affect the speed of colinisation?

Can someone explain me the production screen (F1):
I can see lot of goods produced by farmers/labourers and capitalists?
e.g.: GRAIN:
farmers produce 923 and capitalists produce 401 and below the capitalist picture is a (in this case) cow....
dont get this...thought only farmers/labourers produce raw materials

cheers

Could somebody please list all techs that lower the min. liferating for colonisation?

(Im playing with PDM)

In normal games it is:

Prophylaxis against Malaria (invention unlocked by medicine)
Nationalism & Imperialism
Machine Guns

As for PDM I haven't a clue.

France, midgame, can I has commies plox?

How do you develop your socialists and communists in your country? I am currently playing as France in the 1860s and I was just wondering if I could engineer a big communist takeover for the future. Can anyone tell me how I'd go about such a task?

Also, the CSA hasn't popped up yet. The NGF did turn up in the early 50s and has fucked the Belgian so I have a massive border with him so I am quaking in my boots. I was wondering if anyone knows if the CSA are ever going to turn up now and will the German come at me for his cores no matter my relations with him?

Prydain: The CSA shows up in every game (to my knowledge), though it's usually a short-lived and uninteresting event, especially if you're across the pond. The Germans are highly likely to come at you for their cores, as well. Prepare your forts, promote your soldiers, and be ready for them when they do. Diplomacy will not save you!

As for engineering a preference for the left-wing politics, I can only say to promote their issues during election events (Planned Economy, Atheism, and any social reform are likely to lead to Socialists/Communists). You also want high consciousness. When the communist party does become available you will want high militancy, though militancy can go up and down a lot so don't force it too high before they do appear, as you may end up with large Anarchist or Reactionary revolts. When you get the options for political reforms, make sure you get your trade unions as open as possible, as this gives POPs a desire for social reforms (All Trade Unions Allowed is best).

Is it better in the begining to build in each state same facories like cement, steel etc. or to have different factories in each state

cheers

You generally want a good mix. Not all factories are good in all circumstances. Cement is a good early game factory, but don't get carried away.

Can someone explain for difference between internal market and world market? I just dont get it...

The internal market is you, and everyone in your sphere (whether you're the spherer or the spheree). The WM is everyone (else).

Can someone explain for difference between internal market and world market? I just dont get it...

Internal market is your domestic market + Spherelings. World Market is everybody else.

If you're using the latest patch: First your government stockpile has priority, then POPs of your country, then spherelings. All that remains, is sold to the World Market. If your POPs cant find enough goods at your internal market, they'll buy from World Market (if available).

One further question to factories:
there are input goods for each factory...so are those bought by the PoPs working in those factories on the internal market and if not available on wm?
So if can produce enough of a input good the factories putput should be maxed?

As France, I am currently blockading every port in the US (including the outlaying islands) and have been for about three years and yet his population keeps jumping (how are immigrants getting past the gunboats?) and his industry hit 6000 (ahead of my measly 4600, even though I have a high-tech economy compared to his cement gubbins) points in 1890. I don't know where to start trying to slow the USA's economic growth past endlessly killing his craftsmen with raids from British Canada across the border or a full on invasion -- which I don't even bother gearing up for since taking men out of factories isn't going to keep my industry score on par with him and, being France, my 19million man population can't keep competing with the Germans/US/UK/AUS-HUN after a big conquest/land war with the US.

I dare not ask for allies because those uncivs like the Chineese are just going to bleed a little before seeking white peace and those civilised like the Mexicans are going to get overwhelmed by the US mobilised hive-army and all will pull down my score.

Can anyone tell me how I begin to catch up to the US.

After a veeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyy long war against Austria (as Prussia) I finally got them down to be a 2nd power. Since I already had conquered 60% of their land it was really easy to get them into my sphere (by CB add to sphere). But now, after my game crashed and I had to load an old auto safe, they aren't in my sphere anymore? :OOOOOO

As Columbia, when I add countries like Brazil, Chile, Argentina to my sphere, my economy tanks like crazy. I'll go from +30 to -100, and no matter how much I raise taxes, my income continues to plummet. What are some likely causes and how do I stabilize the situation?

This why you should save during wars...if you get stuck and want to reload you need the plentiful saves. I also set auto save to every year, though every six months might be better.
