Where is a list of State ID's anywhere? I've been searching but unable to really find any.

Reason: I want to change an acquire state war goal from one province to another within a save game, and I think I only need to mod this?:
Code:
{
						state_province_id=46
						casus_belli="acquire_state"
						actor="USA"
						receiver="ENG"
					}

I have a series of questions:

1. How exactly does the dynamic pricing in the V2 engine work? Is it a feedback loop type arrangement, where the prices shift up and down depending on the ratio of supply and demand, or is it something else?

2. How do Tariffs exactly effect the price that pops and factories pay for goods? Does it shift all prices upwards in your country?

3. How is the demand for goods in the "Trade" tab determined?

Right, here's a question:

As Austria, what is the best tactic to go for if you don't want to get involved in the German politics (or at least prevent the formation of Germany)?

Depends on what your goals are. At the outset you can stop wasting influence for german minors and getting involved in a war with france for Alsace-Lorraine. Outside of that, the world is your oyster.

There's a list at Vicky2Wiki. Other than that, you can look directly in the history/provinces folder.

I might not be able to help you much with that, but as far as I know (and that's not much):
1. It's a supply/demand price level, but there's an upper/lower limit. The prices would move freely until these limits are reached, where they'll stall.
2. As far as I understand, tariffs are just a tax on value of goods. If you increase your tariffs, the goods bought by your POPs will be more expensive.
3. I'm not sure, but I think there are 2 types of demands (what people actually want to buy - even if they don't have money for that, and what they can buy). I'm not sure what is displayed where, though. Maybe it's been changed in some patch, and my understanding is minimal at best. I'd also like to know the answer for that.

An idea would be to try to form the South German Federation. That will prevent Germany from being formed, if you keep it in your sphere (easier than keeping Bavaria, Baden and Württemberg). If it manages to become a GP, well, then it's an interesting scenario.

@1 So it goes up when supply is less then demand, down when supply is more then demand, and static when they are equal. Is the rate that the price changes proportional to the difference in supply and demand? Also, how moddable is the rate it changes? I know the actual upper and lower limits are moddable, of course.
@2 So is it more like a sales tax? Does the "Tariff" apply even on domestically produced goods? Does it effect factories?
@3 My instinct is that the "demand" is what people are able to buy, which would make sense.

1. How do I get enough Liberals/Socialists in my upper house to enact political and social reforms? Other than just choosing the "liberal" options for events.

2. How do I promote craftsmen without using a NF?

3. Why can I only "conquest" some uncivs and "Establish as Protectorate" others? As a civilised nation some uncivs I can only conquer and some uncivs I can conquer or Establish protectorate. Persia, even when it was down to one region I could only "conquer". But Ethiopia I could "Establish Protectorate", even if it was reasonably large from taking some land off Egypt. What gives?

4. What is the best way to raise the population of you main culture to increase the amount of NF's?

5. How do I get more promotions to Clerks other than using an NF?

6. What's the best army composition ratio. Infantry : Cav : Artillery : Tanks : Planes, etc?

Thanks!

1. How do I get enough Liberals/Socialists in my upper house to enact political and social reforms? Other than just choosing the "liberal" options for events.

Allow your POPs' CON to rise. That makes them "think" about their political aspirations, want political reforms, etc, thus turning them Liberal. Socialism usually follows that, once it is globally activated, and can be increased by increasing the level of Trade Union reform.

2. How do I promote craftsmen without using a NF?

Having high Administrative Efficiency allows for faster POP promotion/demotion all around, so that is the first step. Next, research technologies that reduce the RGO size and increase RGO productivity (Practical Steam Engine, etc). These will lower the price on RGO goods, making them less able to support large numbers of POPs and make more of them unemployed. Unemployed Laborers and Farmers demote to Craftsmen if you have jobs available in your Factories.

What gives?

It is based on the # of regions an Unciv has and whether or not you have researched Nationalism & Imperialism. Before that tech, you can only use "Protectorate" on one state uncivs. After, you can only use it on Uncivs with five or fewer states. Did you research this tech between the two wars?

4. What is the best way to raise the population of you main culture to increase the amount of NF's?

If there are any countries outside of yours with the same culture, conquer them (German and Italian minors). Researching techs that provide population growth helps, though it increases everyone's growth rate. Implementing Health Care is a huge helpl. Lastly, seek to minimize emigration through reform and satisfying POP needs. Emigration is a huge growth killer.

5. How do I get more promotions to Clerks other than using an NF?

1. Have high administrative efficiency from Bureaucrats. Increases Promotion/Demotion.
2. High literacy.
3. Meet your craftsmens' goods needs. POPs don't like to promote unless they are doing well financially.

6. What's the best army composition ratio. Infantry : Cav : Artillery : Tanks : Planes, etc?

It varies throughout the game and depends on what technologies/inventions you have. Here is what I usually field in my armies

Pre-Guards:
1-2 Cavalry
5-8 Infantry
4-6 Artillery

Guards, Pre-Tanks
0 Cavalry (I find they die really easily and I hate having to replace brigades)
6-8 Guards
4-6 Artillery

Tanks/Planes
2-3 Aeroplanes
2-3 Tanks
4-6 Artillery
8-10 Guards

My late game armies need to be redone, since I don't have much experience that late in the game (slow computer). I aim for a 2:3 ratio of Artillery to Infantry/Guards. Guards provide excellent Recon, which greatly reduces the need for Cavalry of any sort, unless you are looking for a fast moving territory occupying force. Then I use 3-4 brigades of Cavalry to snatch provinces from my enemy while I grind down his armies with my main armies.

Well, you see, I don't want to get involved in that at all except for preventing the strengthening of Prussia (through the NGF for example).
So pissing off France is not optimal.

An idea would be to try to form the South German Federation. That will prevent Germany from being formed, if you keep it in your sphere (easier than keeping Bavaria, Baden and Württemberg). If it manages to become a GP, well, then it's an interesting scenario.

But wouldn't a GP SGF run the risk of forming Germany?
Besides, one needs to take Sigmaringen from Prussia to form the SGF, and it's an infuriatingly 10 infamy for 1 diminutive province.

Hi, long time player of paradox games, and normally I can work most things out through trial error, however this time I'm stuck. I'm trying enact the "megali idea" as Greece, and it says I need the national value "national fraternity" mine is currently order, im great power and own all my current cores. How do I change this? I've read on the forum you can't, is this true? If so is there an event to change to change it and what's it's ID? Want to check before I spend time writing my own event for it.

Uhm, "National Fraternity" is not a national value.
There are only "Order", "Equality" and "Liberty".

I've never enacted the "Megali idea" nor played as Greece so I wouldn't really know. However, I assume that "National Fraternity" is some kind of modifier.

"National Fraternity" is not a national value, it is an invention under the "Nationalism & Imperialism" culture technology. It has a base chance of 2% to fire, increased by 3% if you are a Great Power, and another 2% if you have at least 50 Prestige. Its normal effects are +0.05 to Plurality and -0.05 to War Exhaustion.

I am pretty new to Vicky 2 so have some real noob questions :=)

Once i produce military units the required goods (like canned food etc.) will be bought of the world market, right? And i as a country have to pay for it?

cheers

Correct on both counts. However, your ability to buy off the world market will depend on Supply and Demand, and your Prestige, which determines who gets to buy before you.

Same for capitalists building anything (railroads, facrories)? so what is the difference to building it itself? besides that not every government form allows it?

How does one change from a HM's Government to a Presidential Dictatorship?

According to the wiki it's done by having a Reactionary party in power (I have that) and by adopting universal suffrage, but according to my political screen I am unable to enact political reforms...

Thankyou newtype0083! Fantastic answers, extremely helpful! Everything you said makes perfect sense.

Another question, How do I increase the amount of generals I have? I recently played as Hawaii, and at the beginning need to get a military score of 50 to get westernisation. The main way I was doing this was trying to get more generals and raise soldier pops. But it seemed like every time I recruited a general, another one would die, so that I couldn't have more than roughly 20 generals at a time. By the time I got a military score of 50 I had about 25 brigades, Jingoist govt and 20 generals or so. Took me AGES to get. So in addition to the generals thing, what's the best tactic for getting a military score of 50 with an unciv?

if you are not china-japan westernization can be very difficult because of the demand of 50 military score.
-recruict every brigade you can
-create a lot of generals
-military techs
-build huge navy even if you don't need it
-jingoist gov
-be at war. It almost doubles your military score. Declare war on any tiny unciv, take what you want or white peace out. For some seconds after the war. (pause exactly the moment they accept peace) you will still have more warscore. Then westernize.

what tech must i research to be able to annex (establish protectorate) to a 4-region unciv? I have researched nationalism and imperialism and all inventions and still i can't establish protectorate with my secondary power panjab.
