Can't wait for next one! :)

Ok better get playing then for you.

I love your AAR :)

Could you make an update about what is going on in Asia? I love the fact that you chose to side with N.China, which gives another taste to your story.

Keep on doing this great job!

What's going on in Asia well not a lot. China and Japan are currently trying to smash each other in Manchuria going no where. I'll probably deal with the Japanese after Barbarossa and the Allies are all gone

Chapter 16: Preparations for Barbarossa/ Allies on the Run/ The War is as good as Won.

Early February 1943 Goering's Evil Moon base on the Dark side of the Moon.

Goering: Hello everyone. Raeder you got anything time is short.

Goebbels: What do you mean?

Bormann: We're planning to attack the Soviets soon as other wise they could attack us.

Goebbles: What are the odds of that?

Frick: We're guessing about 80% chance that they will.

Goebbels: Oh.

Raeder: Well we managed to find some designs for a Schnorkel in Amsterdam.

Goering: What took so long?

Raeder: Well here is a picture of part of the Archive.

ironmountain_archive2.jpg

Goering: And?

Raeder: It's just a third of a row on a floor of about a thousand and there are 10 floors. It's a miracle we found it so quickly.

Goering: I guess so. Where was this archive I couldn't see it when I visited Amsterdam.

Raeder: It's all underground. It goes several hundred meters deep and is heavily fortified.

hoi3195.jpg

Todt: A minor note is that we have begun reforming your Brigade into a full size division.

Goering: Awesome.

hoi3194.jpg

Beck: The Italians are growing restless it seems they have attack British held land in the Middle east and forced the Yemen Puppet government into exile.

hoi3190.jpg

Ribbentrop: The Yunnan Clique in the west of China has joined our cause and is lanuching attacks against the British in India after we asked for them to do so.

hoi3191.jpg

Goering: Why did we have to are we so incapable.

Ribbentrop: No but our troops can't get there and we were hoping to support Italian and Spanish landings in India but they failed.

hoi3192.jpg

(Kinda the Reverse of what I've heard the Allies do launch tiny landings that come to nothing)

Beck: Then the Italians did the same to Oman as they did to Yemen.

Goering: How militarily significant is this?

Beck: It isn't.

hoi3193.jpg

Ribbentrop: Then Persia Joined us.

hoi3196.jpg

Ribbentrop: We then go them to join the war to help Yunnan who was being driven back partially due to supply difficulties we believe.

hoi3197.jpg

Beck: It appears New Zealand sheep troops aren't just scary to us the very sight of them caused some Persian troops to fall back in Chaos.

hoi3198.jpg

Goering: Any more details?

Beck: They are a different configuration. More lightly armed to suit the rougher terrain. Here is a picture.

50232_2202834552_430_n.jpg

Goering: Wonderful Todt what has been built?

Todt: We have built 10 industry, 5 light panzer, 5 heavy panzer, the second brigade of the Großdeutschland division, and 8 Panzer Grenadiers.

Goebbels: We have advanced or deveolped Infantry anti tank weapons, light artillery, Infantry support weapons, agriculture, sonar rquipment, supply transportation, supply organisation, civil defense, large air search RADAR, Light cruiser armament, RADAR equipment, Theoretical jet engine, small warship RADAR, Light cruiser engine, light cruiser AA, Long range design and systems, small warship ASW, light cruiser engine, heavy tank engine, carrier armour, heavy tank gun, light cruiser crew training, carrier AA armament, carrier engine, carrier crew training, small navigation RADAR, medium navigation RADAR, supply production, large warship RADAR, carrier group doctrine, mass assault, industrial production, light cruiser escort role, large navigation RADAR, carrier hangar, heavy tank armour, supply transportation, supply organisation, industrial efficiency, civil defence, medium U-boat conning tower, light tank armour, isotope separation, light tank gun, light tank engine, light tank reliability, medium tank gun, medium tank engine, medium tank armour, medium tank reliability, heavy tank engine, heavy tank reliability, long range design and systems, heavy tank gun, light cruiser main armament, rocket artillery, light cruiser AA armament, mass assault, artillery barrel and ammunition, small warship RADAR, small navigation RADAR, medium navigation RADAR, light cruiser armour, first aid, artillery carriage and sights, small warship ASW, heavy tank armour, supply transportation, supply organisation, large navigation RADAR, light cruiser crew training, RADAR, large warship RADAR, carrier crew training, carrier group doctrine, light cruiser escort role, medium range design and systems, tactical command structure and special forces.

Goering: Very long list.

Goebbels: Result of vast leadership and lots of time between meetings.

Frick: Well my efforts have been scaled down to give resources to other areas. Any one who is stupid enough to join the allies now is just asking for it.

Ribbentrop: You know I never finished. I have one more thing to say.

Goering: What?

Ribbentrop: Have a look.

Goering: Muwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Goebbels: What is it?

Goering: The USA has joined us.

hoi3199.jpg

Goering: All we need now is a thunder clap to complete this lighting strike.

Ribbentrop: I may have one.

hoi3200.jpg

Bormann: What makes this so good.

Beck: Most of the local forces where Manchurian or forces under there command from Japan so they are holding them back with only Cavalry and HQs.

Goering: Victory is near.

Beck: Lets end this with a picture of the small gains in India.

hoi3202.jpg

Chapter 17: Barbarossa Begins sort of

Early April 1943 East Prussia Wolf's Lair

Goering: Ribbentrop Any good news.

Ribbentrop: Well the Americans fight with us.

hoi3203.jpg

Bormann: What will they do their army will not be in any state to attack for some time.

Ribbentrop: According to our liaison officer attached to their marine forces they have already attacked the British held territories in the Caribbean.

hoi3207.jpg

Beck: We have also invaded Iraq as they are British Puppets hiding their troops who are planning to launch attacks against us.

Goebbels: Is that your justification it's rubbish.

Beck: According to some files that came through a wormhole form the Future it's better than the one used by the Americans in 2003 in an Alternate time line.

Raeder: What was it.

Beck: That they had WMDs which they didn't and that they had links to an illegal terrorist organisation which they didn't.

Goebbels: Point taken.

hoi3204.jpg

Beck: We swiftly swept aside resistance with aid from the Italians and Persians with the only notable battle we fought in occurring at Baghdad where we drove them out suffering half as many losses despite being outnumbered more than 3 to 1.

hoi3205.jpg

Beck: Then they surrendered to the Italians because all the territory we took defected to them because we attacked from their territory.

Goebbels: Nice easy fight.

Raeder: For what purpose.

Beck: One to allow Italian troops access to Persia to fight in India and to let our troops prepare for Barbarossa.

hoi3206.jpg

Todt: We have built one Panzer Grenadier Division and the other 2 brigades of Division Herman Goering.

Goebbels: We have developed integrated support, Assault concentration, Heavy tank engine, elastic defence, rocket artillery ammunition, Blitzkrieg, Mechanised offensive, heavy tank Reliability, operational level command structure, Schwerpunkt, Rocket carriage and sights, the flying bomb, Logistical strike tactics, fighter pilot training, fighter ground control, fighter ground crew training and Interception tactics.

(Phone starts ringing.)

Ribbentrop: I'll get it it's probably for me.

(Walks over picks up phone)

Ribbentrop: Hello Molotov (after several seconds slam phone down) Ok this is not good.

Goering: What?

Ribbentrop: Molotov just insulted us so badly I can't even tell you and He's just declared war as part of a preemptive strike by the USSR.

Goering: Oh

hoi3208.jpg

Todt: I must leave now to inspect several important factories. ( hurries out the Door.)

Beck: We're not ready.

Raeder: It's a preemptive strike your not supposed to be ready.

Goering: Hang on we're being listened too. Hey you lot all out their, yeh you lot why don't you come out and say something rather than just lurking around listening rather than giving advice or something like that. Anyway we need a planning session tomorrow to get our heads round this disaster. GET MOVING NOW.

Sir, How did you got USA to join axis?

since you were at war with the allies and launched some operation , your threat should be high and difficult to pull USA to axis side? Would you told us what is your method?

Thank you.

Sir, How did you got USA to join axis?

since you were at war with the allies and launched some operation , your threat should be high and difficult to pull USA to axis side? Would you told us what is your method?

Thank you.

It's really simple. I just got the National socialist party in America in power then influenced them to my side. Knocking Britain out also helped as it meant that they couldn't counter influence. Then it was just a waiting game. It also helps that I'd been rising the Threat of Britain and France from virtually day one and only stopped recently apart from a Break when I was lowering British national Unity to help defeat them. I've done the same with Canada.

Now, you are invincible.

Not really the Soviets are going to inflict hell on my out of Position troops who I was reorganising after months of positions selected by the AI two whole Infantry corps for the Northern Front are still on there way back from France and Britain and I don't have all the troops I wanted. Also the Americans only have like 150 brigades about half that of the Italians. I also don't have the Surprise attack Modifier so the Soviets will fight as hard as they will be able to. Really my best shot is too start defensive and Let them wear themselves out and counter attack when Ready. I'll soon have an entire army of Light Infantry out as well what's left of my second armoured army's contingent of Mechanised infantry to throw at them. Before then Encirclements are the only Thing I'll be doing most likely. I'm going to a planning update soon anyway so you'll know more then.

Chapter 18: Planning for the Unplannable

Wolf's lair several hours after the Last meeting

Goering: Where is Todt? He should be here.

(Bormann enters)

Goering: Bormann do you know where Todt is?

Bormann: Apparently after a quick inspection of the factories he had to inspect he was flying back when a bomb exploded in his plane sending it crashing into the ground killing him and all others aboard.

Goering: Who will replace him?

Bormann: Albert Speer. He arrived yesterday and was in communication with Todt in case he couldn't make it back so he had to make the report. He will do his job well and with him we hope that Industrial Efficiency will go up as he had always been good at that.

Speer: I'll do my best.

hoi3211.jpg

(Had to manually fire the event. It just never fired for some reason. It made good story sense that a soviet bomb or similar would have killed him as part of their Preemptive strike.)

Goebbels: I have given a speech to some people to convince them to adopt total war to defeat the Communists. This provided more manpower as thousands instantly joined up and gave us more cash. It also allowed us to fully mobilize the economy.

hoi3209.jpg

hoi3210.jpg

Goering: I have set up an Air superiority grid to suppress the Soviets air power abilities to react to our assaults using air power.

hoi3212.jpg

Beck: Ok now we are going to go through all fronts in this war and examine them starting on our direct front with them. As you can see in the centre and south our troops aren't in position to resist any attack right now. In the north while we have troops in positions they aren't ready to resist attack as two corps of that force are still returning from western Europe. Once we have formed the line our armoured spearheads will drive forwards to encircle and suppress enemy formations.

Goering: Why not just destroy them?

Beck: As spies in the USSR believe that large scale destruction and surrender of formations will cause the leadership to rapidly build more troops to hold the line. If those troops are simply stuck they will not.

hoi3213.jpg

Beck: This is our southern Flank where our Hungarian and Romanian allies are holding the line. They are better prepared but we doubt the ability of their forces to adequately defend for prolonged periods against high pressure from the Russians as they are most likely highly outnumbered. We're hoping Bulgarian and Spanish and Portuguese and Italian Assistance will arrive to support them and hold the line.

hoi3214.jpg

Beck: This is the first of three Persian fronts on the western side of the Caspian sea. We have a presence here but it isn't in position just yet. Were hoping the Turks will soon join us and place extra pressure on this front forcing them to deploy forces to support there forces in this area.

hoi3215.jpg

Beck: The other side of the Caspian sea is totally open on our end which means the potential for large gains by the Russians. However there forces we think are very limited in this area and we think we may be able to drive them back with ease if enough forces are here perhaps with Afghan support.

hoi3216.jpg

Beck: On the Indian border the Persians have been driven back by Australian and other Allied minor forces including New Zealand and Nepal. The Front is lightly held and once our allies break through we feel that we should be able to take control of India with little difficulty as they will become highly spread out.

hoi3217.jpg

Beck: The other Indian Front is that of Yunnan with out any support is trying to defeat light Australian forces. They are more than numerous enough to win but are suffering from massive supply difficulties which are limiting their ability to fight and seize ground.

hoi3218.jpg

Beck: I have no confidence in the Fins ability hold back the Russians due to massive numerical disparity between the two forces. If they last long enough for us to attack they may survive as we could draw forces down to us but otherwise I give them little hope.

hoi3219.jpg

Beck: The Chinese look promising in their fronts in Korea the thinly spread Japanese forces will be able to offer little resistance to them and will likely soon get driven into the sea.

hoi3220.jpg

Beck: In Manchuria the Chinese are facing Russian and Mongolian forces of perhaps similar size but probably not similar quality as parts of their forces are militia and ill suited to facing infantry units but they have sizeable numbers of light armour nearby which could respond and drive them back.

hoi3221.jpg

hoi3222.jpg

hoi3223.jpg

Goering: Where do you think we'll get news of our first victories from?

Beck: China probably as the Korean front is almost over and afterwards they'll easily have enough forces locally to resist the Russians and maybe push for Vladivostok.

Goering: Good people now go, go, go.

Nice AAR you've got going here.:)

Nice AAR you've got going here.:)

Thanks

Yes! interesting overall strategy. Curious to see how the Soviet war develops. USSR has one hell of a long border with China, hope the AI knows not to send too many troops there :eek:o

It'll Probably be several weeks of the Russians taking land off me before I get my act together. Concerning China I'm hoping they send lots of troops there. One to make my job easier and two because I don't want a repeat of Britain where my ally takes lots of empty land and so the enemy surrenders to them hoping for more favourable terms

so very true and i look Raeder's last line in Chapter 17

he was really just stating the obvious.

Chapter 19: Opening Shots

(German underground lair 50km below the earth's surface. June 1943)

Goering: Ribbentrop say something then go We have no time.

Ribbentrop: It appears the Soviets are reacting to the beginning of the war with some vigour.

hoi3224.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also The Stupid Soviets moved Industry to the east behind the Urals so we can''t get. But Our Persian and Chinese Allies can.

hoi3227.jpg

Goering: Beck what's going on in terms of fighting.

Beck: Well as our troops fought to get to their positions we managed to win two early skirmishes.

hoi3225.jpg

Beck: As we fought hard to reach our positions and did so we were acknowledged as having a great army which no one could resist.

hoi3226.jpg

Beck: We reached our starting borders without too many upsets and we then began to mobilize our mobile forces too form two great outflanking Pincers too cut off some of the Soviet forces and then destroy them as it was deemed that keeping them surrounded would only cause more problems. We were able to cut off a sizeable section of the Soviet Front line in the South on the Hungarian border but our northern Pincer is being delayed by resistance. Elsewhere In Persia there are some success in the Caucuses but in Central Asia the Soviets have seized some land but their are now forces watching them while the Indian Front line is resting on the Border. In China they are still pushing back Japanese Forces but are struggling against the might of the USSR. Here are the details of that pocket we formed at it's start.

hoi3228.jpg

Beck: The Chinese are holding their own and are striking back.

Goering: What about the Finns.

Beck: The Finns, lets not talk about that it would ruin the good news of our general advance and the Successful holding actions of our Romanian Allies.

Brauchitsch: Why because the Finns are failing utterly and have already been totally crushed by the Soviet forces.

Beck: Almost but not quite yet.

Goebbels: We have begun forming Units of Anti Communists who want to Fight in Russia against the Communists. We have so far formed a Danish Unit and A Croat unit as well as a group of Russian Exiles.

hoi3229.jpg

hoi3230.jpg

Beck: Well we are trying to grind the Russians into the Dust with a fairly Slow Steady Frontal Advance supplemented by Mobile Forces cutting off some Soviet troops.

Speer: We have formed 6 Panzer Grenadier units and 25 Light Infantry units.

Goebbels: We have advanced or Developed CAS pilot training, CAS ground crew training, Heavy tank armour, Tac pilot training, Human Wave, Tac ground crew training, NAV pilot training, NAV ground crew training, airbase strike tactics, tactical air command, Rocket artillery Ammunition, Port strike tactics, Tactical Command Structure, Medium range design and Systems, Mobile Warfare, Heavy tank gun, Light cruiser crew training, rocket carriage and sights, heavy tank engine and small warship ASW.

Goering: Well done people but this fight is not over yet. Now I must go speak to two Samurai, two Ninjas, A pirate, An Explorer, two Oil mad Maniacs and a pair of Highly Corrupted Business men.

Whats the state thats in the North of Scotland?

Whats the state thats in the North of Scotland?

Italy. Grumble Grumble

Good to see this AAR is back!

Im intrigued to see whether you'll be able to crush the Russians in your southern pocket...

If ever left. I just got distracted by stuff. Any way the Russians in the southern pocket are already almost gone as it is so it shouldn't be long.

Chapter 20: The Unstoppable Advance?

(On a beach in Caribbean. August 1943)

Goering: Well this is a great rest but we still have work to do.

Ribbentrop: I have a few notes of importance. Firstly we Nicaragua to join us. Their Importance is limited but It's better that they're with us than against us.

hoi3241.jpg

Ribbentrop: The next event was the inevitable collapse of the Finns who chose to surrender and were puppeted by the USSR.

Goebbels: Although I made the most of the formation of another Kroat Division around the same time to offset the News.

hoi3247.jpg

Ribbentrop: We also got the Canadians and the Haitians to join us in our struggle.

hoi3249.jpg

Ribbentrop: Finally the Finns have entered the War against us by honouring their Alliance with the USSR.

hoi3250.jpg

Goering: Goebbels any other Anti Bolshevik units formed.

Goebbels: Franco has organised a volunteer Unit of Spanish troops to assist us while he leads the bulk of his forces elsewhere.

hoi3246.jpg

Goebbels: We have also formed a French Unit that is currently still in Paris.

hoi3248.jpg

Beck: In Military affairs we are doing rather well. We formed a pocket In Latvia after taking control of Riga.

hoi3231.jpg

Beck: We then wiped out a sizeable force of Russian troops in Lithuania.

hoi3232.jpg

Beck: We then Knocked out another Division in Poland that had slipped through our lines.

hoi3233.jpg

Beck: Around this time we began to hear of the Russians forming workers militias to resist our advance when we approach major cities. The first was a t minsk when we got close to the Edge of the City as our Light Infantry Drove forwards.

hoi3234.jpg

Beck: We then took control of the Important city of Wilno which was the former capital of Lithuania before the Traitorous poles took it over.

hoi3235.jpg

Beck: We then took one of the two remaining provinces under the control of the Soviets in the southern Pocket forcing the survivors into the other one which was now a death trap.

hoi3236.jpg

Beck: We heard news of more success in the northern Latvian Pocket when we drove them out of one of their few remaining territories in the area.

hoi3237.jpg

Beck: We then defeated them in their last province of the Latvian pocket and forced the remainder to surrender to us.

hoi3238.jpg

Beck: In this aftermath we began Operation Swift stride in the North to take over Estonia and Push up to Leningrad at full speed overrunning the effectively non-existent defences in the region after the Bulk of the Forces in the region were wiped out in the Latvian Pocket. Around the Same time we finally wiped out the Southern Pocket with Massive loss to the Russian Forces.

hoi3239.jpg

Beck: As our forces Pushed towards Kiev the Local Workers apparently grabbed any weapons available and mobilised themselves to resist our attacks.

hoi3240.jpg

Beck: As Operation Swift Stride came to it's objectives the Workers of Leningrad mustered themselves to defend it from our rapidly advancing forces in the Region. However forces returning from Finland meant that further Rapid advances in the Region were unlikely.

hoi3242.jpg

Beck: The workers of Homyel did the same to try and slow our steady but Implacable advance of our forces deployed in the Centre of the line.

hoi3243.jpg

Beck: As a result of Romanian Attacks Odessa workers did the same.We also launched attacks in the South to prevent the Romanians from grabbing too much land by setting up a line of German Controlled land in front of their Lines sometime after this.

hoi3244.jpg

Beck: As other units advancing from the southern Elements of Operation Swift Stride closed in on Leningrad workers in Novgorod prepared to defend the city from our advance but failed once again. Taking Leningrad itself would prove to be incredibly challenging as the city was well fortified and in supply would take some beating.

hoi3245.jpg

Beck: In other Fronts the Persians are advancing well and we hope they'll be able to take Stalingrad from the south while on the Other Persian fronts we think they are driving them back in the central Asian front but it's stalemate on Both Indian fronts. The Chinese are making some progress against the Russian but Japanese forces in Korea have gotten reinforcements we think.

Speer: We have formed two Africa corps Panzer Grenadier units and 1 infantry unit.

Goebbels: We have advanced or developed Elastic defence, Carrier Crew training, Carrier group Doctrine, Large Front, Operational level Command Structure, light Cruiser escort role, Heavy Tank Reliability, Civil Nuclear Research, Logistical Strike Tactics, Naval air targeting, NAV tactics, Heavy bomber ground crew training, Heavy bomber pilot training, Heavy tank Armour, Strategic Bombardment Tactics, Strategic Air command, Airborne assault tactics and Mechanised Offensive.

Goering: Well Done everyone. Looking at it in the NExt two month Gap we should take Leningrad and then We could even be in a Position to take Stalingrad or Moscow. Victory is near.

Chapter 21: Onward toward Victory.

Early October 1943 Inside the Smolny Institute

Goering: Well this is certainly going well right now.

Borman: Yes but where is Beck he should be here.

(Guderian walks through the Door)

Guderian: Beck is no longer chief of Staff he's been replaced with Myself I have been considered more useful to the war effort. Guderian at your service.

hoi3252.jpg

Ribbentrop: Any way the only thing I have to say is that we managed to Saudi Arabia to join us in the Axis although their not in the war yet. We've been trying to get Turkey to join as well but their being more stubborn and are unwilling to consider it while the Red army is threatening their borders.

Goering: Makes sense I guess.

hoi3265.jpg

Raeder: I've some news I launched Operation Polar Bear. A Naval and air assualt on the Major cities of Finland to knock them out the war. It worked well and we fought a series of running battles between our rust bucket Armada and the Combined Finnish and Soviet Fleets which weren't a lot stronger. We managed to destroy quite a few ships but lost a Heavy cruiser to them. We also managed to destroy the Finnish Pride of the Fleet.

hoi3255.jpg

hoi3257.jpg

Guderian: Early on we destroyed a pocket of Soviet troops trapped on the East side of the Pripet Marshes. This freed up forces to engage in other Activities.

hoi3251.jpg

Guderian: We also pushed hard to cut Leningrad off from the Rest of the Soviet Union and seperated the Soviet forces to it's south from those directly engaged with it's defence by Capturing Nazija although it could still be supplied by going around Lake Lagoda.

hoi3253.jpg

Guderian: We then with out forces advancing from Finland took control of Leningrad from the Soviet Union and now held the Entire Gulf of Finland. This helped improve supply transfer for some unknown reason.

hoi3259.jpg

Guderian: This caused mass panic in parts of the Soviet Union. They thought if Leningrad could fall then what was to stop the same thing happening to Moscow and we launched Operation Spear of Doom a thin Column of troops to launch a direct attack towards Moscow while other Fronts slowly advanced in a consolidated manner.

hoi3260.jpg

Guderian: We also noticed that the Italians and Spanish had made another Landing in India this time in the south with around 5 divisions and took control of a large area of Land from the British. They faced no real resistance.

hoi3262.jpg

Guderian: As another assault force approached Brjansk the local communists raised the factory workers to defend the city from us but we're hoping this effort will come to nothing.

hoi3263.jpg

Guderian: A similar thing happened at Dnipropetrovsk but this time no attack was planned as forces in the south are far too weak to actively launch a full scale attack towards the City.

hoi3264.jpg

Speer: We have built 5 Infantry Divisions, 6 Multi role Aircraft squadrons and 50 industrial units.

Goebbels: We have advanced or developed Installation strike tactics, Interdiction tactics, Rocket artillery ammunition, Arctic warfare Equipment, Mountain Warfare equipment, Strategic rocket, Rocket Carriage and Sights, Single engine aircraft armament, Small fuel tan, Single engine airframe, Mobile warfare, Aero Engine, Elastic defence and Carrier Task force.

Goering: Moscow can't be far away now keep fighting the Bear is almost done.

(Really since I only need to complete 12 victory Conditions to win Taking Moscow will get the two more I need to win, I could insta Win if I get Sweden and Turkey on side but Sweden is a long way off and Turkey wants nothing to do with Joining the Axis.)
