Chapter 7: War Begins and the Fall of Poland

Goering's Flying Base of Doom February 1940

Goering: Hello People Ribbentrop give me your report we have little time for delays Time is of the essence.

Ribbentrop: Over in China while they are holding steady the Japanese are pushing hard. Too hard for the weak communists it seems as they have given up after being unable to hold Yanan. Mao fled into the hills with his best men to carry on fighting but almost all of the government has given up. Their forces have joined with the Nationalists to continue the fight but the most ardent communists were removed from their ranks.

Goering: It's good to see communists fail.

hoi366.jpg

Ribbentrop: I also put my demands for both Danzig and Upper Silesia to the Poles telling them if they rejected them war would come. They decided to accept Danzig but after more debating decide to fight over Upper Silesia.

Goering: Foolish Poles they had no chance but couldn't see it.

Ribbentrop: Well the foolish Brits decided to honour there alliance and join the war but there still doomed.

hoi370o.jpg

hoi371.jpg

Ribbentrop: Himmler wants to talk about his plan which was activated after the war began.

Himmler: Well I thought we might have been able to delay the war by convincing the world that the Poles attacked us and in doing so delay the Allied response to the war. It failed but convinced other countries that we aren't that threatening.

Goering: Oh well at least you tried better luck next time you have some plan to overcome our enemies.

hoi373.jpg

Ribbentrop: Well America decided to prepare for war as it obviously feels that war is coming to there shores sooner rather than later.

hoi376.jpg

Ribbentrop: Also Portugal has joined the Axis and Salazar is here to celebrate this fact.

Salazar: Yes It's great isn't now I can gather the resources to go and find new lands and if they aren't on Earth then Space will be were I explore for Portugal.

Ribbentrop: Yes Salazar we're working on your space ship It'll be ready sometime after the war is finished. We need more advanced propulsion systems to move long distances swiftly.

hoi377.jpg

Ribbentrop: It appears that the Japanese desperate to take men off police duty to fight the Chinese have established a puppet state to watch the area for them. It will do little good for them and the Chinese should still win. As more of our trained forces pour in they will be unable to defeat the Chinese and they will be able to hit back hard and drive them into the sea.

hoi378.jpg

Ribbentrop: Well that's it from me.

Goering: I'm going to show you the air defence plan. The entire area of northern Germany and our borders to the west are guarded by fighter of intercept missions and ready to shoot down attacking bombers. There has been some difficulty in doing so completely but the German people are satisfied despite the bombing of our attempts to stop it. We also bombed London but were attacked but the Bombers are still around.

hoi374.jpg

Beck: Now my report on the war in Poland. The only fighting has occurred there so far. We followed our plans and tried to cut off the Polish forces in western Poland and were successful mostly but it took time and our southern trust took Krakow and then advanced forward. We also took Lodz and crushed most of the Polish western armies in two small areas where they surrendered. This is the second at Kutno.

hoi380.jpg

Our forces in the North has already taken territory and attacked Warsaw. We struggled to defeat them for days before more forces arrived from the south and cut the city off forcing many of the defenders to surrender but some escaped before we cut the city off. This is the report but be aware that some did escape.

hoi382.jpg

Beck: It didn't matter after Warsaw the Poles fled with many of their troops fleeing to Romania then to the U.K. The government fled as well although several members were caught in Warsaw no one important was there.

hoi383.jpg

Beck: Also Ribbentrop you forgot that Australia joined the Allies.

Ribbentrop: I thought that you covered that area.

Beck: Oh well they did but it doesn't matter I doubt they will be able to field a sizeable force here in the short term. There are also more details about the battle for Warsaw although other forces joined later.

hoi381.jpg

Goering: Raeder What is your naval report.

Raeder: We failed to engage the Polish Navy as it fled but our long range submarines are in position and sinking convoys.

Goering: What about the medium range ones?

Raeder: Their range isn't long enough to be safely deployed away from the coast. But as you can see we have deployed subs from the Azores to the Iberian coast and at the Straits of Gibraltar and around West Africa. Their was an incident when a passenger ships was claimed by the British to have been sunk by the British and it almost started a war with the Canadians and the Americans but their governments believed our claims that we didn't sink it as we have no subs where it was supposed to have been sunk. It helped that they both have Nationalist Socialist governments.

Frick: You can thank me for that. I have through my spies put those government in power. I have changed the missions around a bit. In Canada and the USA they'll now support the ruling party while increasing Poland's threat and decreasing the U.K national unity to make them surrender sooner.

hoi384.jpg

Goering: Well the 4 plan has come to an end but we still built during this short section 1 close air support, 2 transport planes, 4 strategic bomber, 2 large rader outposts and land forts for the Siegfried line.

Goebbels: We have developed Artillery carriage and sights, Submarine crew training, carrier engine, carrier AA armament, Tac Ground crew training, airbase strike tactics, first aid, infantry warfare, heavy bomber pilot training, integrated support and fighter pilot training. Also with the war beginning we have started to Mobilise towards total war. Like Belgium and Luxembourg who have mobilized the army while we are mobilising the army and the economy for war.

Goering: Lets Hope success is with us as my plans for Britain are nearing readiness.

Clash Of Arms 3: The Winter War

Early January 1940

Ribbentrop: Goering The Soviet Union has invaded Finland.

Goering: Well that had to be expected we did sign a pact with them putting Finland in their Sphere of Influence.

hoi375.jpg

Ribbentrop: So what do you want to me do?

Goering: Find a Danish supply officer who could realistically divert enough supplies to equip a division to send to Finland. Then have him go around Danish area by the Danish border to find volunteers to send to Finland.

Ribbentrop: What if the soviets find out and claim we broke the pact?

Goering: We had nothing to do with it a Danish officer has diverted supplies and weapons to equip Scandinavians living in Germany to go fight in Finland. We knew nothing about it until after it left.

Ribbentrop: I'll get right on it.

Mid March

Ribbentrop: It's all the done and the division is on it's way. We'll have to expend IC to replace the "diverted Equipment" but apart from that all is fine.

Goering: Good I'm under no impression the Fins will win but this may help hold up the Russians and help sap their vast manpower.

hoi388.jpg

Mid April

Ribbentrop: Well as expected the Fins folded but the Russians only asked for their original demands which leaves Finland mostly intact.

Goering: Good But we're still have much work to do. We can send no more time wasting over what happens in Finland right now.

hoi389.jpg

(I have little Idea what happened in the War. It doesn't really matter right now. It'll matter come barbarossa)

This is cool, keep it up

Hey what's next. I want to know!

OK then IF your that desperate then. Well as you might be able to see I have taken the maginot line but the Next update will be relatively peaceful and It'll go up to Fall Gelb. Wesserburg will come later Still building the Troops for it. After that Goering will come into his zone perhaps

Chapter 8: The Line Breaks and the Storm begins

Goering's under ground base of Doom 50 Kilometres below the earth's crust Mid June 1940

Goering: People the storm is beginning soon all of the world will be wrapped in the flames of total war. Except us as we are too cool for total war right now.

Ribbentrop: Well the war is spreading. New Zealand has joined the war.

Goering: While I'm sure New Zealand has a reasonable army They'll probably only be able to defeat us if they armed all of their sheep at once.

Ribbentrop: While I doubt the Military capacity of sheep to fight the thought of thousands of armed sheep roaming the countryside fills me with dread.

Beck: We'll be outnumbered.

Goering: So lets hope they haven't worked on the sheep gun tech which would allow them to arm sheep.

scaled.php

Ribbentrop: We have also done another trade with the Soviets. We give them machinery and they give us resources simple enough and it benefits us hugely.

Goering: At this rate of trade we could maybe be considered friends if we keep it up.

Ribbentrop: It will not that far I'm sure of it.

scaled.php

Ribbentrop: Then there is China. I thought Mussolini's Ninjas would be scary but it appears that Chiang's Samurai are much better fighters especially with our help.

Goering: Why does Chiang even have Samurai? They come from his enemy Japan.

Ribbentrop: A move by Chiang to demoralize the Japanese by seeing their lines overrun by the bearers of there forefathers heritage. It works quite well it seems as they have overrun the Japanese Puppet in Inner Mongolia known as Mengkukuo or Mengiiang. Regardless it seems that the Chinese are winning the war now and it looks like the Japanese occupation of Manchuria is soon to be lifted.

scaled.php

Raeder: Well the battle of the Atlantic is now beginning and our submarines are killing their conveys left right and centre. We have also begun focusing on the U-boats to the detriment of air planes and land forces.

Goering: How could you leave my planes alone.

Raeder: It'll just harm their organization ok.

scaled.php

We can already tell that this is having an impact on the British as it is lowering their national unity and their resources and their Naval base efficiency and we are only using the long range U-boats.

Goering: Why?

Raeder: Mid range ones can't reach the real battle grounds of the Atlantic. They can only get as far as the western end of Britain.

scaled.php

Beck: We have also pulled off our line breaker offensive.

Goering: (Stunned) You actually broke the Maginot line.

Beck: With a lot of help from air power. We had to do it to get better jumping off points for a major offensive against the heart of France.

Goering: Any combat stats.

Beck: We have a few here is the first one.

scaled.php

Goering: We did no damage, how did we win?

Beck: Those statistics are inaccurate they don't include the contribution of air power which drove them from their forts.

Goering: Any others.

Beck: Have a look at this one.

scaled.php

Goering: It's even worse.

Beck: Remember air power. You've talked about how air power can play a massive role in driving the enemy from their positions this is it in real life not on your drawing boards.

Goering: You're right how could I forget. I suppose Air power did lots of damage to them.

Beck: They did try to retaliate but I think we have the better of them. We also encountered armour under a French general you told us to watch out for.

scaled.php

Goering: de Gaulle. His ideas on tank warfare are quite good how did it go.

Beck: We took control of the region and have now began our offensive in the North through the low countries.

scaled.php

Goering: Excellent. Goebbels do you have anything.

Goebbels: In order to increase manpower my agents have moved into foreign communities we control inviting the men to fight communism and destroy the enemy of western civilization the Soviet Union.

scaled.php

Goering: Well we have built 3 transport wings and 6 multi role wings and 6 naval wings and 10 radar outpost which can be combined into one massive one. It's planned for Brittany or northern France somewhere.

Goebbels: We have advanced or developed 4 engine airframe, large fuel tank, fighter ground crew training, hydrophone, heavy bomber ground crew training, strategic rocket, medium tank gun, carrier armour, strategic bombardment tactics, operational level organization, medium tank armour, blitzkrieg, medium tank engine, RADAR, interception tactics, TAC pilot training, medium tank reliability, airbase strike tactics, TAC ground crew training, operation weserübung, cargo hold, heavy bomber pilot training, light tank engine and Fall Gelb.

Goering: Soon all will know war and the Luftwaffe will come into it own and destroy the weak royal airforce.

French guarding Belgian border, leaving Lothringen open? :D Splendid!

Depends on the point of view since I want to win by going through Belgium they are in a better position to reinforce the Belgians and the Dutch. On the other hand since my plan Is going to be a variation on the German one E.G. use armour to smash through the Ardennes and cut off the French army.

More! More! :D

Ok then.

Chapter 9: Fall Gelb and Fall Rot

Before the action takes place a Summary of the German Armed forces.

Now for the main Update.

Goering's Moon base 5km west of Hitler's (he built a second one) Mid August 1940

Goering: What do you think of it?

Hess: I'm having trouble understanding why we needed a second moon base.

Beck: To test the new super laser design for the other one. It was difficult but we now have the range to hit earth and blow up stuff.

Ribbentrop: Yeh but we can't hit France let alone anything smaller, we might be able to hit China or the Soviet Union but it's more than likely what we do hit will contain nothing of value.

Goering: We're still working on it. Ribbentrop give me your report.

Ribbentrop: It appears that the British are rounding up old men, boys and lunatics to try and resist an attack from us. Can't they see we don't want to fight them. We would rather we joined forces against the Bolsheviks.

Goering: Quite.

scaled.php

Ribbentrop: Also in Fall Gelb we forced Luxembourg to surrender but then again who didn't see that coming.

Goering: I'm surprised they even tried to resist.

Beck: Not for long though we smashed them to pieces.

scaled.php

Ribbentrop: Then the Bolsheviks decided to force the Baltic states to give up their land to them and they didn't question it. If they had fought they would have easily won as the Bolsheviks are well known for getting smashed by Lithuania

scaled.php

Ribbentrop: Also the friendly USA has given some old outdated destroyers to the British. We were surprised until the American Ambassador told us that there guns and engines haven't worked in a decade. We found it funny that the British were conned out of their bases like this.

scaled.php

Goering: OK I have taken what perhaps might be a controversial decision to expend resources on repairs to the maginot line. But I think if foreigners think we took them intact then they will be more impressed with us and less likely to attack.

Ribbentrop: That was what I was thinking.

Goering: Great Minds think alike.

scaled.php

Goering: We have built so far during this period 10 marine divisions and 1 paratrooper division.

Goebbels: We have advanced or developed Light tank armour, grand battle plan, carrier AA armament, carrier engine, heavy bomber ground crew training, Nav pilot training, Nav ground crew training, light tank reliability, light tank gun, strategic bombardment tactics, twin engine aircraft armament, and air launched torpedo.

Beck: We launched our attacks into the Netherlands and France in Fall Gelb with the intention of cutting them off from France. We drove straight through the Netherlands to Amsterdam seizing it after a short struggle.

scaled.php

Beck: We then pushed on finnally destroying the last remnants of the Dutch Army at Den Helder and we are now turning round and driveing south to finish off Fall Gelb.

hoi3105.jpg

Beck: We then took Bastogne despite an attempt by the commander of the defenders to fight on with new troops who were supposed to be coming but never got there.

hoi3106.jpg

Beck: We then drove onwards taking over much of Belgium leaving them with little fight left.

hoi3107.jpg

Beck: Then some New Zealand troops landed at Dunkerque possibly inspired by an earlier attempt which had some success but we were able to defeat them.

hoi3109.jpg

Goering: Were there any armed sheep?

Beck: Well your not going to like this but our troops did report this.

images

Goering: Has that Sheep got a rocket launcher strapped to its side? Please tell me it's a hoax.

Beck: NO I'm serious many of our troops fought sheep armed in differing configurations of armament of which this is just one.

Frick: There is worse when our spies infiltrated New Zealand we found not only many armed sheep but also some kind of Demonic sheep who is leading them.

Goering: Your joking right.

Frick: Nope this is a picture of him using his laser eyes.

Evil_demon_sheep.jpg

Goering: We are doomed. Beck please give me some more good news to help counter place the fact we are fighting the demonic entities of Hell.

Goebbels: I'll create propaganda to help out by saying that the allies are working with the Devil and convince church goers to oppose them.

Beck: Good idea Goebbels. We also struck forward in Fall Rot the invasion of the main area of Metropolitan France and took Paris and a long and bitter struggle.

hoi3110.jpg

Beck: After this the French Collapsed and surrendered and we have established a collaborationist regime in southern France based around the town of Vichy. We also got some important industry around Paris

Goering: Great we won. Now just to worry about evil sheep.

hoi3111.jpg

Beck: The last thing that has happened so far is this. We took out a group of British troops fighting for the Belgians after a short fight.

hoi3113.jpg

Goering: Great now lets just hope that those evil sheep don't come over here in to great a numbers.

Nice AAR. I like that armed ram :)

Thanks for mentionning the potential of the Baltic States :D

Are you going to invade Scandinavia?
