War is Hell: Germany

I as you can guess from the title Yes this is yet another Germany AAR and I'm a rubbish writer but I'm going to try and play it with the best and ultimately fail in trying to create a high quality AAR that people actually want to read in the first place. Still I'm trying so here goes for My 1936 Germany start for Dies Irae: Götterdämmerung 1.02.



Public Objectives:

• Dominate Europe
• Help Chinese over Japanese
• Delay war hopefully until Alsace-Lorraine or War
• Crush the Comintern
• Other stuff
• Not In this particular Order

Secret Objectives (So you never actually read this):

• Give Goering as much power as possible
• Turn the Atlanic into a shooting Alley (e.g. kill as many coveys as possible)
• reduce the United Kingdom to Rubble ( Not litterally Metaphoricly e.g. Crush them)
• Create a contents page successfully (No idea how But I'll do it)

Planning Begins

This the Government after some reorganisation.



Hitler: Ok lets get this Evil Planning Meeting of Doom Started then

Hess: Yes Lets do that I suggest we start with Goebbels then.

Goebbels: Yes I'm having a meeting with Scientists, Officer trainers, Spy Organisers and Our Diplomat Trainers. I'm going to see if we can boost Productivity in these areas overall and then Redistribute resources accordingly. The Scientists who report to me due their being no better Minister to report to. They have been given jobs to improve our Infantry weapons, Our Light Tanks...

Hitler: I don't want Light tanks their Rubbish IF you shot a pea at one of those tanks they'll break up and be destroyed Stop that pointless research.

Goebbels: I Know that but lessons learned Here can be applied to heavier types of tanks and self propelled artillery both of which you want.

Hitler: Ok then go ahead but no light tanks.

Goebbels: We are also Improving Artillery and our Torpedoes and doing some work on land military doctrine and one team is looking at better training for a Large Aeroplane crews.

Goering: Like Strategic Bombers and Transport Planes.

Goebbels: Yes Goering You obviously know this or read the briefing I placed in front of All of you.

Hess: What when did that get here?

Goebbels: When None of you were looking obviously.



Neurath: I'll give my diplomatic Briefing then.

Hitler: Yes go ahead

Neurath: I'm Send diplomats to encourage both the Americans and the Turks to join with us in our anti Communist Crusade.

Hitler: I can Understand the Americans But why the Turks their Not a great Industrial or Military Nation.

Neurath: We can Use them to Out flank the Main Communist Defences by going through the Caucasus and take the Oil fields.

Goering: We have to get them on our side now.

Hitler: Yes your right Goering Hurry Up with that.

Neurath: I'll do my best. I'm also Considering helping the Chinese but I'll need the backing of Other Departments to get the materials they need to start fully industrialising to their Full Potential.

Hitler: Why not the Japanese?

Neurath: One the Japanese have no trade or business links with us and Two in your Anti Communist Crusade the Chinese have already tried hard to crush their group of Communists and only the Japanese Threat has stopped them from doing so once the Japanese Threat is Reduced then They'll Turn Against them Once more.

Hitler: I agree Side with China The Japanese have Been Nothing but trouble for us ever since Tsingtao. Never Liked them that much at least the Chinese did very little in WW1 the Japanese did something.

Neurath: Anyway I think I'm finished Now



Frick: Ok then I'll BE quick. I suggest sending spies to The USA, France, The UK, The USSR, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Austria.

Hitler: And what will they do?

Frick: In USA, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Austria They'll support National Socialist Parties to try and ensure an easier ride in world politics with those nations at least.

Hitler: Give ME some Details Frick.

Frick: For the USA they'll help them move towards us diplomatically if the German-American Bund win the elections in 1940. The others are too make taking their land easier as Nazis will start putting pressure on the government to do so.

Hitler: What about Canada if we sink some ship and they don't like they may join in .

Frick: I'll do that later then.



Beck: You may Be pleased to know I got rid of all of our light tanks.

Hitler: Yes no more paper thin armour tanks.

Beck: I have also reorganised the command structure to better run the war when it comes and that's it form me.

Raeder: It has recently occurred to me that we stand no chance against the Royal Navy But I have an alternative. We simply build enough U-boats to stop them getting enough fuel to run their ships.

Hitler: How many U-boats do you want?

Raeder: 42 medium range ones and 21 long range ones no coastal ones through I got rid of our current ones.

Hitler: Why 42?

Raeder: IT's the answer to life, the universe and everything.

Hitler: Ok so what's the question?

Raeder: You can't know both in the same Universe.

Fritsch: Anyway I want at least 5 armies. 3 infantry armies to take the main brunt of the fighting and 1 Armoured and motorised to move quickly and attack. The final army will be a mix of marines, Mountain troops and paratroopers when we get them. Most units will have artillery except for the Marines and Mountain who'll have engineers and the Paratroopers who'll have no back up in terms of support divisions.

Goering: I want As many interceptors and Bombers and Transports as needed. I'm Planning a massive Air campaign against Britain and I'll need every Plane I can get my hands on.

Hitler: Schacht can you do it?

Schacht: Yes I can. I'm building some Transports to move troops around and a few other almost finished ships and Building some Industry to aid in our goal as well as getting the artillery out as fast as possible.

Hitler: good Meeting over now get to work people.

So I have over 300 views so far but no comments Please could I have at least a few it would really improve my morale anyway here's an update but a full one I'll make that later today. This concerns several minor meetings during the middle of the year rather than the big end of year meeting. I'll make that update latter.

Clash Of Arms One: Spanish Civil War

(Updates like this will come around eveery time there's an AI war like the Spanish civil war, Sino-Japanese war and the Winter war.)

Berlin, Hitler's evil office of evilness, 19 June 1936.

Hess: My Fuhrer I bring great news of great importance.

Hitler: What is it Hess can't you see I'm busy.

Hess: But their is now a civil war in Spain.

Hitler: What?

Hess: That right wing army leader General Franco I told you about has flown to northern Spain and organised an army revolt against the Republican Government.

Hitler: Interesting.

Hitler sits back and thinks for several seconds.

Hess: What do you want me to do?

Hitler: Come back on the first of September with a map or if the Nationalists seem to losing I'll decide then.



1st of September

(Hess enters office holding map)

Hess: I have that map you want fuhrer.

Hitler: Ah yes. ( takes map) Hmm very interesting.

Hess: what is it?

Hitler: you know that volunteer force Goering and Von Fritsch for Spain.

Hess: Legion Condor. Yes I've heard about it quite the force apparently.

Hitler: Well Unleash it for the Nationalists. Let Spain Burn under the fires of War.

Hess: Your will will be done My Fuhrer.



So the Legion Condor was unleashed against the Spanish and the Nationalists were gaining the upper hand in the war. But the republicans were far from finished and there was still some fight left in them.

I'm using Imageshack as well are you resizing them or something that may be it.

i dont get it either, takes a while before i understand some of these things and as soon as i figure them out they always seem so simple.

Only to the start of 1937 I'm planing to right an update right now to cover that year

So far, an interesting start. I am watching mostly to see if the DLC is worth getting, but I've got plenty to learn about HOI 3 yet, and I hope you can teach me!

Early Phase Preparations for War

January the First 1937

Deep underground in Hitler's bunker of Total Evilness in East Prussia. (Yes Hitler has 42 of these scattered all over Germany to give him somewhere to hide if needed)

Hitler: Ok People what has happened during this year.

Raeder: I'll go first. Well apart from steady preparations for naval actions with with the Submarines and the possibility of giving U-boats better quality Hulls in exchange for making them far more expensive and longer to make. The improvement isn't even that great.

Hitler: Why would anyone take that up?

Raeder: No Idea but were not. Also we're having problems with developing new U-boat equipment. We hope to solve this shortly. (This is true and a problem. My Flag to let me research new U-boat stuff has failed. I put the flag with the Long range U-boat being able to be produced event to try to solve it We'll find out soon enough any way.



Neurath: Ok My turn So far in the Sino-German Agreement we have made two shipments of Troops and Supplies to the Chinese in the Hope of giving them enough strength to resist Communism and Japanese aggression.

Hitler: How much did we send them and how is it affecting us?

Neurath: One light Armour division and Two Infantry divisions and 2500 supplies and We lost 2.5% of our IC doing it.

Hitler: IC well spent then not a lot and does wonders for the Chinese Hoefully.



Neurath: On the issue of China I also put to them the Idea of an Anti-Comintern Alliance to the Chinese Foreign Minister and He liked the Idea and has put to his superiors who have made an Informal agreement concerning it.

Hitler: Why only Informal?

Neurath: They wish to avoid angering the Chinese Communists who they fear may attack again with the support of the USSR.

Hitler: Probably wise right Now I'm not sure even we could take them on yet.



Neurath: We also managed to arrange Swedish Metal through Narvik and tried to get the Romanians to give us some oil and fuel from the Oil fields at Ploiesti but they only ever gave short bursts of activity before cutting it off. ( basically the relationship dropped after getting it high enough for some reason.)

Hitler: Oh well we should consider getting them in to the Axis to ensure long term access.

Neurath: My thoughts Exactly.



Neurath: We also reoccupied the Rhineland and the Allies were shown to be wimps and backed down and offered no resistance at all.

Hitler: They're indeed wimps but what is this file on Infantry anti-tank weapons in the folder.

Goebbels: Oh so that's were that file went it'll be part of my report later carry on Constantin.



Neurath: My final thing to say is about Italy and the...

Mussolini: (Bursts out of the Shadows) Rome Berlin Axis.

Neurath: err well yes.

Hess: where did he come from.

Hitler: Oh Mussolini I was wondering when you would arrive for those talks we agreed to have.

Mussolini: Hess I've been Hiding Like a ninja in the shadows.

Neurath: Well that concludes my report.



Goebbels: I'll give my first report then. Well the Summer Olympic games were quite successful and improved our relations with many nations although it angered some South Americans and the Evil Republican Spanish. But who cares about them.

Hitler: It was a success did you see how well the African American team for the United States. I was slightly surprised you may say. I had heard some of them were good but the number of medals they won surprised even me. It's was a shame I had to leave before shaking their hands.

Goebbels : These things happen There was very important business that popped up at a moments notice for you to do.



Goebbels: We also had the VIIth party congress to help bring the nation together and that's about it for this report.



Goering: Ok now for the Research and Production reports Right Goebbels.

Hess: When did you become Armaments Minister.

Goering: IT followed my great Idea for a four year plan to help develop German Industry. It lead to Schacht being forced to resign. It's a very interesting series of Events.





Goering During the Year we have formed some infantry divisions and added artillery to all out divisions as well as build some more mid Range U-boats and transports and some more interceptors and bombers and built some industry.

Hitler: Why so little detailed?

Goering: Schacht as a free market guy left this place so disorganised. Basically industry produced what they were asked but with no real organised documentation. Goebbels research is similar.

Goebbels: It's true but I have reports for most of the developments made some are missing so it's by no means complete. Anyway here is a summary of the Various technological developments made so far.













Hitler: Interesting and what is this about a regiment General Goering?

Goering: Doh I knew I forgot something. It's a Paratrooper support brigade to help with air landings.

Hitler: Ok Maybe in the future you can increase it's size to a full Brigade or even a regiment if you like.

Goering: I'll have to look into that.

Frick: My spy report is that we don't have enough resources to fill out our spy networks but are working on it. We'll cope any way.

Hitler: Good keep Working on it. War is coming and we must be ready continue with preparations. This meeting is dismissed.



One year has passed and Germany moves forward Stronger than Ever towards it's goals. While Goering Plots in the shadows for more power than ever before.

As to worth Getting It's a yes it's more than worth Getting I think. As a teacher I'm probably not your guy I'm simply not that good Myself I'm on very easy difficulty by the way

YEs actually in both of my games so far they have offered me an alliance in the first part of the Game should have mentioned it perhaps but they'll join in 1938 at some point
