@ Aetherius and hoi2geek: French exiles are living in Canada and they are not that many (mostly coming out of elite that left National France), but are holding many very influental positions, chief of RCAF and chief of Canadian ground forces are also French exiles by origin.
Thanks for comments, opinions and interesting suggestions, everyone! I can guarantee that much of that will be taken into serious consideration. Also, I hope you'll like another drama-styled insert. I tried to do it in a manner of communications frequencies in this sector being messed up due to general mess, so it can be heard what are people on diffrent sides and positions saying and some battlefield flavor can be put in story.
General's log, report 16
Finally, defense lines in all sectors are broken and UNA troops pour into France in mass. Enemy is trying to establish new lines at the great rivers and especially consolidates the defense of Paris that is now facing inevitable UNA assault. General Kurt Steiner who is considered as a great specialist for urban warfare is in command of forces that await to storm the City of Light. However, many commanders, including me, are afraid of Steiner's unpredictable tactics.
Skies above the Paris
Volcano 1: Razgriz 2K9, come in.
Razgriz 2K9: Volcano One, report.
Volcano 1: Razgriz 2K9, there's too much AA fire, I'm not sure if we'll be able to make another run.
Razgriz 2K9: Volcano One, I can't get a permission for the use of stronger firepower.
Volcano 1: Razgriz 2K9, this sector is extremly dangerous and crawled with the enemies, we can't do much only with autocannons! [autocannon strafing]
Razgriz 2K9: Volcano One, orders from the top. Our chief and other Frenchies don't want Paris to get too damaged.
Volcano 1: This is insane, we're putting us all and also the guys on the ground in danger! [metalic burst] Damn, I've been hit!
Razgriz 2K9: Volcano One, do you copy? Are you OK?
Canadian officer: This is crazy, are we supposed to capture the city in close combat with light air support? There's too many of them! Damn it, give us more firepower! [constant gunfire, yells and explosions]
Volcano 1: Razgriz 2K9, I'm good, took some hits from light AA arms. It's ridiculous to get even hit by that! Everything seems to be okay with the bird.
Razgriz 2K9: Volcano One, good to hear you. We can't risk more loses, we already lost bunch of fighters and god knows what's going on down there.
General Dassault: All units, you're doing well, continue to operate according to plan, disobeying orders will not be tolerated.
Volcano 1: He's mad, how can he be a chief of RCAF? Screw him and screw the Paris! [explosion] Aaargh, how did I miss this projectile? It was so damn fast, I'll have to eject!
Canadian officer: I'm losing too many men here! Requesting more firepower! [sounds of combat getting even stronger]
Volcano 1: Can't eject, damn it! Going down, aaargh! [signal lost]
Razgriz 2K9: Volcano One, do you copy? Are you OK? Do you copy? I lost another one, that's it! Team, switch to bombs and missiles! In fact, everyone who can copy, switch to bombs and missiles, we're done with suicidal strafing runs! Orders from the top!
General Dassault: Mon Dieu, who gave those orders? How dare they follow him? I'll have them all court-martialed for that!
General Steiner: Haha, that is some serious firepower! I knew that we shouldn't listen to the French lobby! Call in armor and artillery, get me air forces command to coordinate the attacks!
General Dassault: No, Paris must not be destroyed! Stop this madness now!
General Mobius: No, General, you will stop this madness. Now. Haven't we lost enough of good men already? Authorize required air operations now. Altough I can see that they are doing well without your orders too. I'll ask for allied air forces while you should make sure that our boys get some serious air support also. Not only A-10s. We have some big monsters in Europe also.
General Dassault: But what about Paris? This will be a disaster...
General Mobius: It will be rebuilt. I want to hear no further objections.
General Steiner: That's what I'm talking, SyNdiEz, sYnDieZ everywhere, fire, fire everywhere!
General Kwai: We're here to help. Armor, forward! For the Republic! For China!
Maurice Hoth: Maudit! Quebec and Wallonia will have to wait, get me a plane to London!
FAI Commandante: Mierda, CNT-FAI is out of here!
Canadian officer: Wow, this is totally diffrent than before! Before nothing and now this place was set on fire...Syndies are really getting overran, where did all those reinforcements come from? [communications: ''Sir, we're entering the catacombs'']
French officer: We're being overhelmed, retreat! [signal disappears]
General Dassault: Oh my, Eiffel Tower was knocked over...
