1914

Map of the world on the forevening of the start of global tragedy that would change the course of history. The calm before the storm is occasionally only interrupted by sounds of fighting from civil war in Mexico and armed resistance of Senusi brotherhood against Italian colonization of Libya.

1936

The 7-years-long global war and events that followed have changed the world. Victorious German Empire and its allies reshaped the world. What was not changed by them, was done by proletarian revolutions that followed in Britain and France. British Empire was dead, French and British elites were forced to find exile in North Africa and Canada. Late 1930s were marked by peak of German power. What was left of once mighty Entente was weak alliance of British royalists in Canada and French nationalists in North Africa. Much bigger threat to German influence was the new Syndicalist Internationale, solid alliance of proletarian states. Berlin always worried what kind of plans is revanchist Commune of France forging, but real danger for German colonial empire was rising in the East.

1946

2nd American Civil War started after hot electoral race where victorious Huey Pierce Long was thrown out of the White House by Douglas MacArthur. Victory of populist candidate of America First-Union Party was seen as dangerous by both Republicans and Democrats, not to mention enraged American Syndicalists that started to yell about unfrair fraudulent elections. United States was spared from horrors of Weltkrieg due to neutrality, but was hit very hard by loss of global markets that fell under German dominance. Economic crisis brought collapse of unique two-party parliamentary system and two new large radical parties were radicalizing American people. Major tensions, caused by economic troubles and political unstability were the powder keg that was lit by fire of presidental elections. MacArthur established military junta to keep America together but he wasn't successful with that. Both Syndicalist leader Jack Reed and Far-Right populist Huey Long declared union a dead state and called their supporters to arms. Industrial areas around Great Lakes were occupied by proletarian militias, while dozen of Southern states seceded and established American Union State. West Coast tried to escape the troubles: Some states in neighbourhood gathered around California and created Pacific States of America. To prevent further growth of Syndicalist influence, Canada occupied New England and Republic of New England was declared under Canadian protection. Canada also secured Alaska and Panama Canal, while Canadian allies in Caribbean secured Puerto Rico. Guam and Philippines surrendered to Japanese without resistance, while newly seceded Hawaii got remaining US Pacific possessions under their authority by successful negotiations with local authorities of other islands. Japan had to cancel her plans of invasion of Hawaii due to gathering German naval forces in Pacific. German corporate puppet in China fell to republican revolutionaries, but revolution was soon hijacked by German agents and German presence in China only changed her clothes. When republican revolution followed in corrupted Qing Empire, Germans didn't have to worry for losing their weak ally Pu-Yi. However, Japanese attack on German fleet in Singapore and following invasion of China caught Germans by surprise. Eventually, Germans and their Chinese allies managed to hold their ground against Japanese and Fengtien troops in China, but German garrisons were unable to defend German-owned Pacific islands. Peace negotiations brought continuity of Status Quo in China and gave German Pacific islands and German New Guinea to Japan. Fortunately for Germans, European Syndicalists didn't dare to use oportunity of war in Far East to start a war in Europe: Newly restored Russian monarchy turned to Germany and signed Anti-Syndintern Pact, changing the balance of power in Europe. In 1946, world is enjoying some peace after numerous conflicts, most notably 2nd American Civil War, War for Pacific, 3rd Balkan War, and Grand Tuareg Revolt. United States are gone, with Combined Syndicates of America defeating both MacArthur and Long. However, Syndicalists didn't dare to invade Pacific States of America, liberal democratic ideological successor to old United States, as Canadians were closely observing situation.

1950s brought turbolent times again. 1950s and 1960s are often refered to as the Times of De-Colonialization. German African conglomerate of Mittelafrika started to crumble under pressure of anti-colonialist resistance, heavily supported by Syndicalist nations. Situation spreaded also into National France, already weakened by failed, but bloody Tuareg revolt. Situation was hot in Asia also. Bengal was in war with Princenly Federation, but this didn't bother it from supporting rebellions in neighbourhood too. Burma fell to Syndicalists and uprisings continued in Siam and German Indochina. But the worst was happening in Indonesia. Indonesian Independence War was fought between Syndicalist-supported Indonesian revolutionary independence fighters on the one side and Japanese, Dutch, German and Australasian forces on the other side. Massive conflict was won by the side with unchallenged popular support. Foreign forces had to retreat despite fire and technological superiority. Despite limited cooperation between Dutch and Germans, and between Australasians and Japanese, Indonesian enemies were divided into two rival blocs and were much more weaker as if they would unite in their cause against independence fighters.

1960s ended with successful export of revolution on Balkans and Caucasus by Ukraine and Georgia, and restoration of Russian control over the Trans-Siberian Railway after the war with Mongolia. National France finally collapsed in 1970s after the rebels approached coastal areas. Commune of France made a generous offer to ship French brothers that are willing to live in socialism from North Africa to French mainland. National French elites already evacuated themselves to Canada, mostly Quebec, and left native collaborators and most of Pieds-Noirs behind. They accepted Communard offer and escaped troubled area. Since African revolts were lead by Syndicalist now (for diffrence of traditionalist oriented Tuareg revolt), Arab elites in coastal Algeria and Tunisia who cooperated with French were now left to fight alone. Bey of Algiers and Bey of Tunis immediately wowed for help from Mitteleuropa. German forces from Morocco and Ottoman forces from Libya moved into Northern Algeria and Tunisia, and fortified the territory. Rebels were halted and new friends of Mitteleuropa were secured. Both Beys were coronated for Sultans of their respectful lands, nominally independent, but in fact being mere puppets of both of Ottoman Sultan and Berlin. Recognizing that Ottomans will be crucial allies in fight against Syndicalist influence, Germans supported growth of Ottoman power. Ottomans secured great sphere of influence for them, altough they had to accept to share it with Germans in some areas. All pro-Ottoman and pro-German Arab leaders recognized Sultan as the one and true Caliph. However, opposition stayed. Hashemite rulers in Arabia refused to swear loyalty to Ottoman Sultan, and so did Oman. Pan-Arabic Syndicalist leaders in Union of Africa condemned Ottoman puppets too. Alliances have consolidated. Strong Syndicalist Internationale (Syndintern at short) was threat to both Entente and Mitteleuropa, but last two refused to cooperate due to old rivalry. Entente soon merged with Greater East Asia Sphere of Co-Prosperity into United Nations Alliance (UNA) while Mitteleuropa renamed herself into EuroAsien due to her strong membership in both Europe and Asia. Global situation stays tense until the modern day, be it Caribbean Syndicalists exporting revolution, ever-lasting war in Indochina, arms race or international rivalry all over the globe. But Canada always stands on guard, trying to be ready for survival in any critical situation.

Outstanding! I am very happy to see you finally begin this AAR. Just like your others, I will be watching with undivided interest!

I like your title too. :D

Oh this is frightening ... America, I weep for thee.

Hooray, finally up!

Also, viva la NCR!

Cabinet of Canada

Sir Tyler Mobius, 1st Earl Mobius of Manitoba, is a General from the ranks of Canadian nobility. Old general made his way to the position of the Chief of Staff of Royal Canadian Armed Forces, one of the strongest military forces of the modern world, and one of the strongest in the history of man. Personality of General Mobius is reflecting both attributes of respected commander and honorable noble. His staff is, just like Canada and her leadership, a mix of various groups. Turbolent events have reshaped Canada in the past. Anglo-Canadians and Franco-Canadians were joined by several exile groups who struggled for influence in leadership of Canada. All are often also pursuing their own interests. British exiles filled Canadian politics, military and economy after United Kingdom collapsed. They even managed to secure Senate for themselves, turning it into House of Lords, reserved only for them. This way, Canadian fate was sealed, turning Canada into legal and legitimate heir of British Empire. Second strong group of exiles that hit Canada were French Nationalist elites that fleed North Africa after collapse of National France. They inhabited mostly the area of Quebec, due to cultural and linguistic connection, but they never really united with Quebecoise in their cause for independent Quebec. French exiles wanted to preserve strong Canada, as their goal stayed the same: Liberation of old homeland. Another strong exile group first appeared during 2nd American Civil War and eventually became bigger and stronger. American representation was steadily growing, and reached its peak with anexation of Canadian client state of New England after plebiscite where people of the Republic of New England decided that joining Canada can offer them the best protection against Combined Syndicates.

General Staff of Royal Canadian Armed Forces inspected the state of Canadian military in meeting in early August. Day long inspection of the state of military resulted in report that was delivered to His Majesty Richard IV of Windsor, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the British Dominions Across the Sea. The title of the Emperor of India was erased after proclamation of the Republic of India (however, heir of Delhi stayed close ally of Canada) and title of the King of Ireland was abandoned after royalist recognition of Republic of Ireland in attempt to improve relations with Ireland. The first and second part of report were made in the morning and described the state of two branches of Canadian military: Royal Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Marine Corps. Royal Canadian Armed Forces were made of four branches: Royal Canadian Army (RCA), Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and Royal Canadian Marine Corps (RCMC). His Majesty's Coast Guard is integral part of Royal Canadian Navy.

Map of Canada: Canada is currently made of thirteen provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Alaska, West Indies and New England) and three territories (Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon).

Despite 55 million population, Canada still can't be compared with 250 million population of Combined Syndicates of America. Conscription system is in use to provide enough manpower for military.

Port of Vancouver is very important port for Canada and is protected by 2nd Coast Guard Brigade of Harbour Police (component of His Majesty's Coast Guard of the Royal Canadian Navy). This unit cooperates with Vancouver Command of Royal Canadian Army and Vancouver Air Base.

Harbour Police Special Forces are performing both land and sea-based operations.

Border Guard is component of Royal Canadian Mounted Police with duty to offer assistance to regular army in local operations during wartime and prevent illegal incursions via border in peacetime. Need for paramilitary Border Guard was born from constant smuggling of agents and material from CSA to Canadian Syndicalist rebel groups.

Areas of Calgary and Regina are heavily militarized, mirroring the situation on the other side of the border.

Similar story is with Manitoba, not to mention Great Lakes area.

Of course His Majesty must enjoy maximal protection too, Ottawa is not so far from border with CSA.

RCMP also fields great number of special forces, trained especially for anti-insurgency warfare.

Canadian Special Air Service is pride of Royal Canadian Forces. Large concentrations of Canadian armor are also present in New England.

Most important overseas possessions are also enjoying strong protection. Panama Canal Zone and Bermuda are also part of the Province of West Indies, established after collapse of Caribbean Federation, triggered by Syndicalist ''Export of Revolution''.

1st Airbone Corps is good result of cooperation between RCA light infantry and RCAF airlift.

RCMC has currently most of its forces divided among the Grand Bahama Command and Santiago Command.

Allied Republic of Hispaniola currently hosts Canadian marine unit. This state was born after Caribbean Federation intervention in favour of Dominican Republic during the Dominican-Haitian war in 1940s. Entente used this intervention to guarantee herself a new client in Caribbean.

Now THATS an army! I love how many tanks the RCA has, that firepower will go a long way to helping Canada endure the CSA's numbers.

I look forward to learning more about the RCAF and the RCN.

Great update.

Whatever happened to Chalk River National Laboratories?

A.k.A. The Anglo-Canadian Nuke Programme?

Your army looks like it's in good shape. Whitch Entente states are left by the way?

Also, is it possible to become general in the AAR? I really enjoyed your earlier AARs (especially Long way to Paris). :)

Seconded. It would be great to be part of such interesting AAR personally.... :)

With Canada's new sexy blue color, the CSA stands no chance. Also, NCR Rangers shall help kick Syndie ass in the west. *gets his gas mask and trench coat on*

Hope to see Québec's syndicalist ruining your plan ;)
