I know there was already discussion on Urfa but, after doing some research for Greek names, the sources I have seem to indicate that Urfa and Al Ruha are different names for the same place: Edessa.

The name under which Edessa figures in cuneiform inscriptions is unknown. In early Greek texts, the city is called Ορρα or Ορροα, transliterated Orrha or Orrhoa respectively, as the capital of the Kingdom of Osroe, named after its legendary founder Osroe, the Armenian form for Chosroes. The later native name was Edessa, which became in Syriac ܐܘܪܗܝ, transliterated Orhāy or Ourhoï, in it is Armenian Ուռհա , transliterated Urha or Ourha, in Arabic it is الرُّهَا, transliterated as Er Roha or Ar-Ruha, commonly Orfa, Turkish Urfa, Ourfa, Sanli Urfa, or Şanlıurfa ("Glorious Urfa"), its present name. Islam connects Edessa with Ur as the abode of Abraham. Seleucus I Nicator, when he refounded the town as a military colony in 303 BC, mixing Greeks with its eastern population, called it Edessa, in memory of Edessa the ancient capital of Macedon. The name is also recorded as Callirrhoe, and under Antiochus IV Epiphanes the town was called Antiochia on the Callirhoe (Greek: Αντιόχεια η επί Καλλιρρόης) by colonists from Syrian Antioch (modern Antakya, Turkey) who had settled there. During Byzantine rule it was named Justinopolis. Its Kurdish name is Riha.

So are the provinces of Urfa and Al Ruha incorrect in being two different provinces, with Urfa being the Turkish name and Al Ruha being the Arabic name for the same place?

I noticed that the provinces of Zulkadriye, Antep, and Urfa all have Elbistan as their capital name.

I've noticed some problems with the map:

1) Sea of Kara - there are two sea provinces named like that, one is a wasteland (number 2528) and one not (number 1844). Surprisingly, the wasteland province connects to worldwide ocean (by province number 1861 - White Sea) when the not-wasteland one is not connected. I believe that you accidentally switched the places of them:


2) South Atlantic Raging Fifties (2518) - this sea province is a wasteland and thus you cannot reach land province 2609 (Roche) which isn't a wasteland and could be colonized. Is this intended?

1. Nope. The 1844 one can't be accessed anyways.2528 is not supposed to be reached either.

2. Already corrected in my files.

There are two provinces in Northern Persia/Southern Khiva region named Kara-Kum right next to eachother. On has the capital of Charjev so I assume that's what that one was supposed to be named.

Right next to those are two provinces named Bukhara. Both have Bukhara as their capital though.

The nation of Corfu seems to be occupying a completely different island (chain) than they should be. Corfu should be located on Kerkyra #142 until they join the Venetians (the Greek name for Corfu is Kerkyra, or vice versa, the English name is Corfu) but they appear in the game on Inioi Nesoi #1436 (which by the way should be named Ionioi Nesoi but that's probably just a typo). Or maybe I'm missing something?

Well, that's because i messed up somewhat. I should never have renamed that nation "Corfu"... a nation that didn't exist during the MEIOU era.

I should have kept it as the Count Palatine of Cephalonia and Zakynthos. Although, on second thought, it would appear that this nation never was really independent either.

I just noticed that Tambov (#304) has Voronezh as its capital but Voronezh is its own province (#1287) south of it with Voronezh as the capital.

Province #2508 (a wasteland) is named Kongo but it's located in Sahara.
