Hi, I'm probably in the wrong place, I'm sorry if I am, please reply as opposed to de;leting and confusing me more.
My problem is a problem relating to Hearts of Iron III Dies Irae Gotterdammerung.

This is how the situation stands:
I got Hearts of Iron III from Steam, worked fine
When Semper Fi came out, I got that too, also worked fine
Then I got Dies Irae Gotterdammerung, for some reason it didn't work, not sure why, in properties it says that it is downloaded
Recently I got For the Motherland, and that works fine.
So how do I get DIG to work?
Obviously I tried playing as Germany, just in case anyone thinks I didn't try that;)
The original game and all additional extras are all from Steam.
Finally whoever (if ever) someone replies can they speak plainly without abbreviations or tech speak please and thank you

Have you applied the latest patch found in one of the first 3 post?
 
so i finally bought it today, installed it, and the counters are not different, but it seems playable and the noticeable game changes are there, I was just wondering if this is because i mis-installed?
 
Applied the beta LUA from lothos into the DIG dir. and everything seems fine. The beta LUA was just released 9/18 and changes some production/tech stuff. Backup your script folder and then install the beta if you want to try some of the new lua scripts from the upcoming 3.06 I believe! DD answered my q a few replies back saying beta lua can be played and tested with in mod but be sure to backup your DIG script in case you want to go back to default. If you notice any change since beta lua post to lothos in beta lua thread too for feedback for next patch.

for me steam sucks I always go to gamers gate but then I had to because vanilla HoI3 is on disc
 
FTM VERSION

Beta version of Dies Irae. Use at your own risk (and make backups!).

- Install FTM and patch 3.05
- Be sure the DLC installed
- Download Dies_Irae_Gotterdammerung_beta_2.05
- Extract it to the FTM \mod\Dies_irae_Gotterdammerung folder
- Overwrite when prompted (the archive files should replace the Dies Irae ones)

This is an beta version but most likely to be the finale one (with a couple more bugfixes of course).

Known bugs:
- The Naval Map is not here (won't be until Danevang get back from his holidays, in September)
- Battlescenarios not supported (yet)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download the Beta patch from the link above (thanks to Derkb for the server)

2. Extract the patch in your HOI3 directory
2.a STEAM: you need to go to your steam installation and then look for \Steam\steamapps\common\hearts of iron 3
2.b DON'T INSTALL THE PATCH IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! THE DLC IS NOT BROKEN WITHOUT THE PATCH AND YOU CAN WAIT FOR AN OFFICIAL ONE TO COME IN A FEW WEEKS


3. Overwrite when asked (it will only overwrite the DLC files, don't worry)

4. Launch the DLC like you always did, it is successfully patched.

5. You can check if the patch works by going to the naval doctrine technology tab, see the submarine positionning or morale tech and if coastal, medium and long range submarines are included the patch is installed. :)

just downloaded the patch newest patch for FTM dies irae and it still does not work even though it is apparently compatible with my current FTM 3.05 it starts up and is loading up to the point of "initializing maplogic" then a pop up says "file exception" then the game closes automatically i have tried re installing it and re downloading the patch but it still does the same thing.

Dies Irae: Götterdämmerung -> Savegame and questions

Hi all, I have been playing this new and awesome mod and after playing till 1943 I have several comments :

-How could be possible that I conquered France getting through Maginot Line? It should be impossible and also this leaves you out of Snorchel technologies, so for this technology you must own Amsterdam. It´s important to say that Bitburg theater was in defense mode, anyway when I finished conquering Poland, France had been defeated in some parts of Maginot line, this can´t be less realistic.

-Where are the damn convoys and how it can be real danger for UK? After building and researching enough (which means a lot) to build a decent U-boat floote (10 x 3 LR in early 40´s)and using it properly in western approaches (2 groups of 3 U-boats in each different zone) with good results (about 2+ convoys weekly sunk in almost every zone but Gibraltar approaches with about 4+), all this leaded to a 78% unity in 1943 for UK (sunks previously described stood still with sustained U-boot building and extended raiding zones), so we could say it has been useless because UK it´s not going to be defeated with that unity. After that I arranged Sea Lion and conquered UK, fighting against perfectly supplied units and having troubles at the "end" of Sea Lion in Glasgow and Liverpool mainly because of land forts (~1942). This looks pretty unreal for me.

-I have been fighting in Gibraltar (with IA blitz stance activated) for about 2 years with no results, after taking manual control and just using every surrounding unit at same time the battle was won, so I just can think about big coincidence or just IA management error.

And finally but much more important than previous comments: Where the hell is the savegame file of Dies Irae: Götterdämmerung?, because in C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III\save games I can´t find anyting, the same as in C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III\mod\Dies_irae_Gotterdammerung\save games, nothing. I would appreciate a lot any help about this subject so I can keep on playing after I change my computer.

Point 1: Sometimes the French AI pulls divisions off of the Line and your AI gets troops onto the forts faster than they can move them back. Hasn't happened to me in a while. Also did you have a fast breakthrough or a slow grinding fight that you won through attrition?

Point 2: No clue. But you might be making it tough on the British troops overseas who aren't getting all of their supplies.

Point 3: Forts are hard to crack. I was playing DIG and invaded Switzerland.. and took the entire country in ~1-2 weeks except Bern which hung on for a month or more. Gibraltar has always been tough to take.

Point 4: Are you playing with Windows Vista/7 with UAC enabled? From the hard drive installation my saved games were in Users/Username/AppData/VirtualStore/Program Files 86/Paradox/HOI3

I generally make a copy on my desktop and the save games then stay in that set of folders. Hope this helps.

before you launch the game with dig you must patch to 2.05beta

Playing DIG the "Rumania wants to join the Axis" event fires twice even when I accept the first time (end of june '40), and somewhere around August again. I just accept again, not knowing what would happen if I denied the second request. (perhaps I should, because 2 days after the event SU declares war on me :(
 
The event does trigger twice, for no apparent reason, but it doesn't cause USSR to declare war on you. My guess is that you captured London, which automatically makes USSR declare war on you.
 
Thanks for the reply. I indeed captured London, but atleast a few weeks prior to the event. When loading a savegame and not accepting the Rumanian invitation Russia does not declare war for another month or so. Could be just random, I don't know, does not really matter, I think I am ready for them anyway, I was just wondering about the event firing twice.
 
Same problem here with Gibralter and Bern.

Gibralter resolved itself when the UK landed an invasion in southern Spain, which was successful for about 3 weeks. That caused it to dislodge the Gibraltar troops and put them on the attack. I was able to take it on the counterattack with little problem.

Bern has been under a bombing campaign for roughly 2 months now. I have destroyed their infrastructure, AA, and factories and am now attempting to bomb their supply and fuel caches out of existence to starve them out. I figure it will take another month of bombing to reduce them to a level that will let me attack by land. That's the plan, anyway. I absolutely cannot crack that province, even with 10:1 odds. I am not complaining at all, though. It's great. If I really wanted to, I could game it and let them attack me in empty provinces to gain the advantage and break their ORG, but I don't.

The AI knows when it can't break into a fortified province, which is why you probably didn't see any activity at Gibraltar. It will surround and isolate the province, but only occasionally attack. I had the same result at Leningrad, and when it finally committed it took months of constant combat(and 250k loses on my side) to take the province. If the AI isn't attacking, there is probably a reason.
 
I just bought For the motherland, and have the DIG, installed the beta of DIG too, but the game wont start, i dont even get any error message, nothing. It only say starting the game, after a while it dissappear, and then nothing happens. I use Steam.

Edit: Now it works, dont know why it did not work before, dont know if DIG works, but at least for the motherland works.
