With Japan I have the problem that Japan is Axis member but don't attack GB in India or Malaya. The have troops along the border - they are in war with GB- but the start no assault.


Two little ideas for a new Update: Because the focus of the MOD is GERMANY:

- Give the controll of the Forces in Lybia (the famous Panzergruppe Afrika) GERMANY and not Italia in the later 1941 scenario
- The 1943 scenario: It would be very friendly if the German player have 3 transport ships to bring his troops to sicily in order to play historical.

The US has an event which will trigger in 1942 if Axis victory progress is 50 or higher or GER has London

EDIT: that even will make US join the allies and declare war on Germany. I guess that's there to make sure the US gets involved in the war. In vanilla you could easily keep the US out of WW2 or at least out of allies using spies.

As for US joining Allies when Japan attacks.... Keep in mind that the vanila UK AI is scripted to influence the US and invite it to the Allies as soon as it can. Day of infamy drops US neutrality by 50. If u've been playing like ur supposed to (By 1941 u probably own France, Yugoslavia and Italy has joined the war) Day of infamy will drop US neutrality to below 25 and allow them to join Allies. UK is just itching to bring them in (Check the Triangle in the diplomacy screen. Barring any major spy moves on you part the US is pretty much stuck in the allied side of the triangle

I infleunced the US right from the beginning and gave full priority to my spies to support the german american bund so that til the end of ´41 they had a popularity of around 43% and the US was in lower right corner in the diplomatic screen. That´s why it seemed to be highly ilogical to do a turn of 180° an join the allies without any reason (at least as far as the game mechanics are not considered) So, is there any possibility to cange this event by myself to make it more plausible?

even though the source of the supply is listed as berlin since you can of course always have only one source of supply the supply from the harbors will go to your units nonetheless.

Ok I accept this however, the supply map is not showing that. It is quite clear they are being drawn direct from Berlin, not from a port which is nearer!

I can't get Dies Irae: Gotterdammerung to work with For the Motherland. I keep getting a notification saying

Yes it is illogical from a game mechanics point of view. But remember DI:G is meant to be played as GER. If u play ur cards right USSR won't last more than a year against u (unless u intentionally keep them alive). So by late 1942 u don't have anyone else to fight!

But if u want to comment it out just in the Events or Decisions folder. US has a decision that will tell him to go to war when those two conditions are met.

then you are doing something wrong. it was changed in semper fi as far as i can remember. what are the supplies shipped to the ports doing?

They get to the port fine, the port then stays blue = in supply. However a unit 3 nodes away is stated as drawing supply from berlin. I am trying loads of senearios with different counties and different setting. Take a look for yourself.

Comsubpac I dont think I am doing something wrong but it is possible.

Minister "Julius Leber" for Germany is listed as the wrong ideology. He is stated as being Stalinist (KPD) when in fact he was Social_Democrat (SPD). This matters for the successful Operation Valkyrie event where he is placed as the minister of security.

The script for him should be:

How did is go down to 73%? unless u did something wrong at the outbreak of WW2 ur NU should be at 94%. Check what is actually causing it to go down. The red National Unity Change for certain ministers and laws doesn't matter unless something is causing your NU to go down.

Are you convoys getting attacked? A common mistake is to leave your convoys and trades on even after the war starts. BAD IDEA! France and UK are only too happy to sink those convoys when the pass the English Channel or anywhere in the Atlantic for that matter.

Check your Air Combat Filter (its a button near the mini-map) there UK starts with 3 Strat bombers in 1936. Maybe you are giving them a free shot across the Reich? Strat bombers can really drain NU if u don't watch out. Use Interceptors to take them down.

Use Spies to Raise NU. Alternating with Counterespionage.

Mouseover to the NU to see what's causing it to go down.

The real problem with NU is that it can go down fast when you are not looking and its a real pain to raise it back up again.

Yes. Welcome to my world. During my first games I ignored the Stratbombers and found myself bleeding NU at a horrid rate. It didn't help that I had +20%NU modifiers as well.

+20% is to the rate of change of NU not just the rate of drop. If you have positive change the modifier actually increases your NU more than it would without that minister.

In order to reverse your problem you need interceptor wings capable of dropping their Strategic Bombers and some Strategic Bombers or Rockets of your own to strike back.

How much damage you do to the enemy via Stratwarfare doesn't impact your own NU.

I think that's the exception I got when I first tried to run the DLC unpatched. Have you applied 2.06?

You might be right but about where it is listed from, however this is a bug then as the game should have the right name on there. In the next version of the game this should be corrected!
Secoudly the supply map is not showing the flow from the ports corretly. These issues might be realted. I accept that the game machanics might be working right but the interfaces are not, this is my point! You hint at this yourself, so do I list this a bug for game developers or do they already know?

I have an issue with trying to install over the HOI3 Collection bought on gamersgate. I try to run the installation and get a Hearts of Iron III not found. If I click on keep temporary internet files to do it manually they are no where to be found.

Installation is impossible, or so it seems!

Why do the 88mm flak cannons do 3 air damage and the 37mm flak cannons do 5? Weren't the 88s more powerful?
From reading the wikipedia, the 37mm flak 37 reached an effective ceiling of 4,800 m (15,700 ft) (anti-aircraft) while the 88mm flak 37 had 7,620 m (25,000 ft) effective ceiling and 11,900 m (39,000 ft) maximum ceiling.

The 88mm flak 41 had an effective ceiling of 11,300 meters (37,100 ft) and a maximum of 15,000 meters (49,000 ft).

I know that the 37mm was fully automatic and likely better against small aircraft, but the 88mm was semi-automatic and what was used on bombers and the ever higher flying aircraft.

As it stands now in Air values:
88mm Attack 3 / Defense 3
Mobelwagen 37mm (self-propelled) Attack 4 / Defense 5
Infantry 37mm Attack 5 / Defense 5

What do you think about changing the 88mm to have Attack 6 / Defense 3?

Is that too overpowered or keeping in line with saying it was more powerful than the smaller form of flak, just not as good against the fast moving close air support strikes?

Edit: The place marker file for Political events says that you hate political events and is otherwise blank. Some of the political events are needed to pull a country out of their faction. This could be very helpful to include.

I dropped the vanilla political events into my most recent game to test them while trying to role-play the spread of National Socialism by peace and spies. In it, by late 1940 France was well on their way toward the Axis with the PPF at the helm. This wouldn't happen without political events. If there is anything you would like me to do with the vanilla events, I will sit down and go through them to make you hate them less. Perhaps many of them should be purged. However, the game-state setting ones need to be considered for inclusion.

Edit2: I am now up to 1943, the Soviets declared war a year ago but there is neutral Poland between us. This has been a fun little canned naval hunt. I am still using only the units I started the game with. I have built some but not deployed them. I am purposely exploiting the threat to keep this war from starting as long as possible. Then it finally happens, National Socialist Britain abandons their Faction and asks Germany for an alliance! How is that for an example of why we need those political events?
