    [Dies Irae: Götterdämmerung] Report thread - 1.02 beta is out!

    Announcement: 3.06 version of the DI:G DLC will be available on late june, early july.

    No new features planned but some rework due to the new map.

    This mod replaces the black & white photos used to display units with coloured drawings, with quality drawings you can display a lot more details compared to historical photos... you will be able to accurately see what you are building and using on the front.
    The mod also improves the soldier faces adding more details, making them a little more realistic and lesser plastic.

    This mod completely overhauls vanilla NATO counters for more eye candy, fully replacing map counters, small counters and interface counters. Each component can be installed separately and map counters are aviable in 3 different sets, every one should be able to tune the mod to match his taste.

    STEAM INSTALLATION

    1. You need to go into the HOI3 folder and look for HOI3.exe, this is the mod launcher. Here you can choose Dies Irae and play with it.

    2. Or you can right click on your HoI3 in Steam, go to properties -> set launch options and add "-mod Dies_irae_Gotterdammerung" then launch the game to make it always use that DLC.

    THE GAME CRASHES ON LEADER SELECTION

    Your HOI3 is not patched right. Be sure you have 2.04d or 2.04e or 2.04f. IF YOU INSTALL A PATCH OVER THE HOI3+SF+DLC BE SURE YOU INSTALL THE DLC AGAIN.


    I HAVE SOME BOXES OVER THE MODEL PICTURES

    Please try:
    1. Copy the HOI3 entire folder (+SF+patch+DIG) to your desktop. I said copy, so you have 2 HOI3 folders now.
    2. Now go back to the old HOI3 and copy the entire \mod directory
    3. Paste it into the new HOI3 copy, overwrite the files.

    I suspect there is a conflict with creation dates or something within vanilla and DI:G. If you copy DI:G over itself it may make DI:G newer than vanilla files and then the game will take DI:G gfx and the bug would disappear.

    Since I can't reproduce your bug I can't help you more than that. Please be sure your follow the exact steps and report back.

    - Install FTM and patch 3.05
    - Be sure the DLC installed
    - Download Dies_Irae_Gotterdammerung_beta_2.06
    - Extract it to the FTM \mod\Dies_irae_Gotterdammerung folder (if you're not sure, see below for extracting-101)

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Download the Beta patch from the link above (thanks to Derkb for the server)

    2. Extract the patch in your HOI3 directory
    2.a STEAM: you need to go to your steam installation and then look for \Steam\steamapps\common\hearts of iron 3
    2.b DON'T INSTALL THE PATCH IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! THE DLC IS NOT BROKEN WITHOUT THE PATCH AND YOU CAN WAIT FOR AN OFFICIAL ONE TO COME IN A FEW WEEKS

    3. Overwrite when asked (it will only overwrite the DLC files, don't worry)

    4. Launch the DLC like you always did, it is successfully patched.

    5. You can check if the patch works by going to the naval doctrine technology tab, see the submarine positionning or morale tech and if coastal, medium and long range submarines are included the patch is installed.

    How to extract a patch
    1. STEP ONE. You need an extractor, for instance, 7zip (click on the download link and install it).
    2. STEP TWO. Download the patch (see post #2, be sure you have the patch related to your version of the game)
    3. STEP THREE. Once the patch is downloaded, click on it and open it with 7zip (or any extractor).
    4. STEP FOUR. See the image below:
    5. STEP FIVE. The extractor will ask you if you want to replace files. Click on "Yes for all".
    6. STEP SIX. The patch is installed. You can play it as usual via the HOI3 launcher.

    I asked for it (a subforum for all the DLC, Common Weapons of WWII as well) in order to have more visibility for patches and mods.

    You can, but you shouldn't. You'll get an event telling you to play as Germany. It's not possible to "lock" out the other nations, but the game will be completely screwed up if you play as them.

    Also if you press play with another country your computer will unplug itself and jump out the window. So I don't recommend it.

    So far, so good. My only minor concern is the generic unit names for army units. I thought that if you built a regiment then it would have the correct classification, i.e Gebirgsjager Regiment instead of the generic term. Is it possible to produce units with the correct title?

    You're right, they should. It will be patched, but in the meantime to anyone who wants to fix it themselves it's an easy swop in the localisation file _DIES IRAE Naming Conventions.csv of the two titles.

    You need to launch it as a mod, when you start the HoI3 launcher.
